Do you have a question for our Production Team?

If you would like to submit a question using the form, please remember that Ask Sideshow should NOT be used as a way to solicit for a job, contact Customer Service, ask about a shipping date, or register a complaint. Most of those questions, comments, and solicitations can be most efficiently sent to us by filling out our online Customer Service Request Form.

Also, a fair warning: Questions that ask, “Will you be doing/Why don’t you do [insert license or character name]?” may never be answered. We’re happy to drop hints when we can, but we sometimes cannot answer direct questions about what we’re planning in the future for a variety of reasons, which include (but are not limited to) licensing, production, artistic contracts, and ever-changing schedules and projected release dates. Please feel free to use the form for all these sorts of questions or quasi-suggestions, but PLEASE don’t take offense if when we don’t answer to your full satisfaction… or don’t answer at all – it’s not personal, we promise!

Hello, I would like to know why does it take (sometimes) a long time before the edition size is announced? e.g. the German Paratrooper still states TBD and is almost due for release!? Also, I would have liked a WWII text/logo on the base. Why did Sideshow choose for only the word ‘Crete’ and not ‘Battle of Crete’ or ‘WWII Crete’? Thank u.

Great question, and truthfully simply because the piece hasn’t moved into that magical stage of production that requires a set number for marking the bases and boxes! Soon enough, we promise! Crete was simply a design choice, mostly an aesthetic call.

When are we getting Zartan, and how soon are we gonna see any Drednoks?

Zartan is completely rad. This figure is by far our most ambitious Joe yet, and sports some really incredible armor and weaponry. The prototype is nearly done, and we appear to be on track for a big reveal by the time of San Diego Comic Con.

What are the chances of seeing Tunnel Rat in the G.I. Joe line? And how about a Larry Hama likeness for the portrait? Keep up the great work!

Both great suggestions – we’ll keep it in mind! Sincere thanks for the kind words!

Have there been any discussions and/or plans for you to release 12-inch versions of the GI Joe Adventure Team?

Yes, especially with the possible inclusion of Bigfoot. We like the idea, but it is lower priority than our current Joe VS Cobra focus.

Is a Blowtorch or Barbecue a character that Sideshow will consider realistic enough for 1/6th scale G.I. Joe? -AND- I really wanted to say that you guys are doing an awesome job on GI JOE. I just got the Cobra Throne, and it is easily the most startling item in my collection. And I’m looking forward to more of them. I have to ask, with the real world twist you apply to each character, will Joes that have bright colors like Blowtorch (a personal favorite of mine) be on your list? I’m curious how you’d adjust the colors.

Blowtorch made it to our planning, but has yet to find a ‘locked’ position in our development track. Our Creative Director, Tom Gilliland, has a serious soft spot for Blowtorch, thanks to his time working for Toys ‘R Us back in 1984/5/6. There was a kid that came every day to the store asking for Blowtorch, and one day, Tom was finally able to connect that kid with his long-sought-after figure, and it left a strong impression on Tom.

I like the drivers in the 3 3/4 G.I. Joe line; are you considering characters like: Wild Weasel, Strato Viper, Heavy Metal, Keel-Haul, Steeler, Thunder, Wild Bill, Motor Viper, etc, etc.?

Yup, we’ve considered them – especially Wild Weasel. They’re distinctly possible, but not yet in the works.

When can we expect to see a Destro or Croc Master show up in your G.I. Joe line? And in what scale/version?

Destro is a lock for a late 2011 (or possibly early 2012) reveal, perhaps in two different formats at about the same time. Croc Master doesn’t have any definite plan, not yet.
