Do you have a question for our Production Team?

If you would like to submit a question using the form, please remember that Ask Sideshow should NOT be used as a way to solicit for a job, contact Customer Service, ask about a shipping date, or register a complaint. Most of those questions, comments, and solicitations can be most efficiently sent to us by filling out our online Customer Service Request Form.

Also, a fair warning: Questions that ask, “Will you be doing/Why don’t you do [insert license or character name]?” may never be answered. We’re happy to drop hints when we can, but we sometimes cannot answer direct questions about what we’re planning in the future for a variety of reasons, which include (but are not limited to) licensing, production, artistic contracts, and ever-changing schedules and projected release dates. Please feel free to use the form for all these sorts of questions or quasi-suggestions, but PLEASE don’t take offense if when we don’t answer to your full satisfaction… or don’t answer at all – it’s not personal, we promise!

Any news on the next Transformers Movie Character please???

No news, but we’re eager to see more of the characters appearing in Transformers 3. The film will heavily influence our decision for the next product.

Any other Transformers on the horizon… maybe Megatron?

We’ll need a little time to recover from Prime – he’s been a very ambitious, very difficult project. The movie Transformers are SO complex, it’s incredible!

Does Optimus Prime light up?

Puny human, Optimus does not NEED lights! ;) Really, probably not – he’s just flat out impressive without them!

Will Optimus Prime be up for pre-order at Comic-Con?

Optimus Prime will roll out in time for SDCC, but we will not start pre-orders until sometime after the show, maybe toward the end of August.

When is the Optimus Prime Maquette going to be ready for pre-ordering? -AND- When can I expect Optimus Prime to be on my shelf? Can you please give me the release date?

Optimus Prime is one of the most ambitious projects that we’ve ever undertaken. The development has been a bit slower than expected to get it all worked out, but he’s looking phenomenal. We do not currently have a release date set in stone for this piece (either pre-ordering or shipping), but we are tentatively planning to display it at Comic-Con at the end of July, so stay tuned! If you haven’t watched the Optimus ‘Inside Look’ video yet, we suggest giving it a peek: [Watch the Video Here]

I know Sideshow has the ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ Transformer license, but have you ever thought of getting the G1 Transformer license?

Yes, we’ve considered G1 too – I wish that we had time for all of the good ideas out there! We’ll see how ROTF Optimus performs, but Transformers seem like a natural.

ANY more news on Transformers… still waiting for Optimus!

Holy cow – he’s here, and he’s HUGE. This is a monster piece. Idol Workshop worked for 8 months on the digital sculpture, refining 30,000 parts down to about 175, and it’s amazing. Next step – figure out how to paint and produce it! We’re almost certainly going to show it off completely by Comic-Con.
