If you would like to submit a question using the form, please remember that Ask Sideshow should NOT be used as a way to solicit for a job, contact Customer Service, ask about a shipping date, or register a complaint. Most of those questions, comments, and solicitations can be most efficiently sent to us by filling out our online Customer Service Request Form.
Also, a fair warning: Questions that ask, “Will you be doing/Why don’t you do [insert license or character name]?” may never be answered. We’re happy to drop hints when we can, but we sometimes cannot answer direct questions about what we’re planning in the future for a variety of reasons, which include (but are not limited to) licensing, production, artistic contracts, and ever-changing schedules and projected release dates. I see that back in November of 2009 you mentioned that the Twilight license is a “hotly debated topic” at Sideshow. Any word on whether or not you’ll pick up the license? It’s a much greater phenomenon than Buffy but still in the same ballpark. My wife got me hooked on the series and we’d kill to have Premium Formats of Edward and Bella and possibly other characters as well!
Nope, it’s still hotly debated. We’ll pass your enthusiasm upstream and see what shakes loose!

I was wondering if you are going to make a 12/18″ Captain Barbosa from the Pirates Movies? He was a great character in the movie, and I have been looking everywhere for him to add to my collection.
You can join the ranks of the many artists and development team members campaigning for Barbossa. He’s the next character that we want to do from POTC, even ahead of Davy Jones. We hope to set sail on Barbossa in the near future.

I have never gotten a question answered but here goes! :) I read how one collector was against Art prints and more in favor of removable heads, switch out arms, etc. While I know you at Sideshow try to please everyone. I, for one HATE heads that can fall off, or switch out arms that will just sit in the box. I think the art print pays a great tribute and compliments the statue. From my experience the more switch out pieces you have, the more chance you have of something being broken. And if you don’t have room on your walls, buy a nice sleeved folder to place them in, so you can show people. Your guests will love looking through your Exclusive book and then at the statues. And the artists deserve that recognition.
Thanks VERY much for writing in with your fandom of the prints! We really enjoy the artistic process MAKING the prints, and we have no plans to stop. We think there’s a way to satisfy both camps (prints versus parts), and we’ll be working to satisfy he question from both angles simultaneously.

Now that Shredder is on his way, any plans to produce a Master Splinter comiquette? Everyone dreams of having a pet rat who is smart enough to learn martial arts, and it would be nearly as amazing to have one such rat that mutated into human scale. Since that’s just crazy talk, I think a 1/6 scale statue would please many fans, TMNT’s and Sideshow’s alike. Keep up the great work!
We’re in the midst of discussions about how best to follow Shredder, but nothing has been decided as of yet. Rats, feet, trikes… all on the table. No love for Bebop or Rocksteady? Krang?

In the past you guys have done some of the best comic con exclusives (Han & Luke StormTrooper). But lately your exclusives are low cost repaints. Why? And will we see another true Exclusive figure or figure set? That is not just another repaint. I did pick up the Blue clone sergeant but how about some Arc troopers like Fox or Commander Ponds?
Great question. We are of a divided mind about the show exclusives, as we attempt to balance desirability with availability. If we make a ‘main release’ type of character exclusive to a show, some of our collectors are discouraged by the increased difficulty of obtaining the figure. We see the show exclusives as an opportunity to do something fun but non-essential, so that those collectors who miss out do not have gaping holes in their collections. For example, we would never choose to release a Darth Vader product as a show exclusive, unless it was a very obscure version of Darth Vader. We are in the planning phases for additional clone commanders like Fox, Wolffe, and Ponds, and we have a few already finished prototypes that we’ll be revealing in the coming months (did you say Gree?). Oh, and we are definitely loving the ARC Troopers too.

This is a general question. Please forgive my ignorance, but I would like to know more about this exclusive thing that Sideshow has. Is Sideshow the only company that has awesome exclusive add-ons to toys made by other companies?
Essentially, yes! Sideshow Exclusives are products, or versions of products, only available at SideshowCollectibles.com. Often, these products include some sort of free bonus, an accessory or art print, that is available nowhere else. Sideshow works closely with companies like Hot Toys, Pop Culture Shock, Electric Tiki, and others, and is occasionally able to work out an offer in which Sideshow customers can obtain that extra value in their Exclusive version.
