As promised, and for the first time ever, you are getting a look behind the scenes at development for an upcoming Sideshow figure! Ilum Padme was the winner of our Star WarsEU character poll, and we’re pleased to report that she’s coming along nicely. If you click the image below, you’ll be able to view a video with a full rotation of the Natalie Portman likeness! Sculptor Trevor Grove seemed to enjoy working on the Padme portrait, as evidenced by the quality of the sculpture. Under the guidance of Creative Director Tom Gilliland, VP of 3D and Design Mat Falls, and 3D Production Manager Heath Hammond, all of Padme’s elements are fully underway and looking great, and we can’t wait to show you every piece!

Absolutely amazing! Going through these archives of your team’s work is an absolute treat. Thank you so much for sharing your work; it’s really helping me as a sculptor to improve! Again, thank you for posting this and your other production work and best of luck in future projects!
The Padme’ sculpt looks good. I have a question and a few comments that are wishes. The question is, will Padme’ snowbunny be released as an inclusive. Now, I wish Sideshow would tighten up the joints on these figures. Some are already loose when I get them, some are not but they all get loose too soon after posing them. I also wish the neck would swivel forward as much as it does to the rear and last, please sideshow, when doing Jedi 12″ figures please refrain from sewing the tabbards to the cumberbun(forgot the real name of it). The cumberbun isn’t adjustable at all and the belts sit to low. I like to have the belts in the middle of the cumberbun for accuracy. I think Kit Fisto’s head should have been more hollow so it wasn’t so heavy and the neck like the rest of the figures but worse does not allow his head to tilt down toward the front. He always seems to be looking up instead ofnstraight or down. Bring on the Clones and Aayla! Your 12″ Star Wars line does rule but of course there is always room for improvement.
this padme is beautiful but is it going to be a 12″ and what outfit will she be wearing
Hey sideshow. Great sculpt of padme(natalie) i cant wait to see this figure finished. i am loving your star wars 12″ figure line so far keep up the good work. Figures i would like to see sideshow make are- Aaayla secura!! for next jedi. Shaak ti, Any troopers, Grevious(hasbro’s sucked big time), grevious body guard, Detroyer droid!!!! Red imerial gaurd(Kir Kanos), Yoda, Plo kloon, Ki-adi-mundi, Tion medon, Nemoidian… etc etc. i could keep goin. Just dont stop sideshow. cheers.
I hope that, after this next Jedi, we will be getting a new addition to the Heroes of the Rebellion line since at this time Bespin Han and Leia as Boushh are the sole representatives.
Nien Numb, Lobot, Admiral Ackbar, Biggs, Wedge and the multiple possiblities of Lando, are all ripe for the picking.
Awesome sculpt. I’m really hoping the next figure will be Ki-Adi-Mundi — since they did a brilliant job with Kit, I think Ki would be just as great.

Again, KUDOS to SS and their work. I cannot wait to see how she turns out AND what Jedi is next.
This is not a rip on SS (how could it be it was a contest). I think that the sculpt looks awsome, but my complaint is this. Out of all the EU characters there are to pick from SITH LORDS, BOUNTY HUNTERS, JEDI, VARIOUS SCUM AND HEROS. The number one fan choice was a character that would have been made eventually anyway. Sure she may not have had the “Snow Bunny” look but for crying out loud you could have customized a PB outfit. To SS the sculpt is one of the best yet please keep up the good work. I am so stoked that some one finally made acurated looking 12″ SW figures. I am going to also go against the stream and say I want a YODA figure! Also I am hoping for an addition to the Scum and Villanry collection. BOBA FETT, and JANGO FETT (not quite father and son but sort of). And I want two back military figures to (SANDTROOPERS, SNOWTROOPERS, BIKER SCOUTS). SS RULES!
Wow. Wow, wow, WOW.
This figure is looks to be awesome. And because they sculpted the ears, it looks like perhaps they might have two head sculpts with the figure: one with her hair, and one with the skullcap hood. Awesome!
My bets are on Aayla Secura as the next Jedi, because I think it would be awesome for them to try another alien, after Kit Fisto’s success.
Umm. That’s a nice job. Use v for vendetta photos for a reference, I think the back of her skull doesn’t stick that far out.

Okay, looks like we are going to get another Jedi. I’m thinking another one of Mace Windu’s Jedi posse from ROTS to go along with Mace and Kit. I’m hoping, however, that it will be Aayla Secura.
