We’ve received some feedback about the venerable Plo Koon, and it seems that a solid majority would prefer to see Plo Koon with a blue lightsaber blade, the way he appeared in the Geonosis Arena battle. We will, in fact, change the color of the lightsaber blade to blue for the production run. (The exclusive twin-bladed gauntlet will remain green.)

Since we’re talking about Plo Koon and about colors…What’s up with his pants? For some reason I think Plo Koon wears dark brown pants…His 3&3/4 inch Hasbro action figure surely does. I do hope that Plo Koon ends up with the right pants and boots. His boots appear to be Mace Windu’s boots in the photos I’ve seen so far. It’s as if his whole lower half is Mace Windu. I hope this is corrected for the production of the figure. Kudos on the head and hand sculpts though!!!
if i am not mistaken, Plo Koon’s entire outfit is incorrect i thought plo koon had very dark pants and a dark tunic that was different from the traditional jedi’s tunic.
Yeah, the clothes could be hemmed better. I took of Obi-Wan’s tunic and there was yellow thread all over his brown under-shirt. Plus I had to cut off all the pieces hanging there.
According to the sources I viewed, Plo Koon’s pants should be brown or some other dark color that can be mistaken for brown. The lightsaber was addressed now how about something just as or more important, the costume. Can we do something about the frayed ends of the Jedi robes? I think the mold or sculpt for the lightsaber that came with Kit Fisto needs to be cleaned up or redone. The addition of paint made it even worse.Even though Hasblo’s sabers and other accessories were over sized and not to scale the sculpts were often very clean including the saber which is exactly the same style used for Kit Fisto. Don’t think I can find more things wrong than I can that is good in Sideshow’s Star Wars 12″ line but everything but God can be improved. Sideshow collectibles, you are doing a great job and we as collectors or otherwise appreciate your attention to detail and your listening to the customers and fans. Now, bring on YOUR Clones!
Why don’t you do like you did for Mace with the two lightsabers, then you could have multiple colors instead of handles. Also please! Make one of them Yellow. Plow Koon is the only Jedi or sith Besides Yun to use a yellow lightsaber and that would be way cooler than your average green/blue. Didn’t any of you play Jedi Power Battles. Yellow is the coolest. Somebody back me up.
Loved the change. Youj are doing an excellent job on this figure. As above I also would really love to see the other sabers included, also please please work on a proper color change for the rest of the costume. Thanks nad thanks for doing a top job.
While on the subject of accuracy, The Jedi Luke saber has the arrows on the hilt colors reversed. The red arrow (points toward the blade)should be green and the green should be red and the ring that the saber hangs on the belt by should be triangular not D-ring style. All cool figures, very nicely done. Hoping 2007 will be a millitary year. I was impressed at how fast I have been nailed with Sideshow 12″ Star Wars figures being shipped. 3 in one week. Bring on the Clones and Aayla Secura!
C’mon SSC, throw a yellow blade in there for us Jedi Power Battles fans! That was pretty dang cool.
the fans asked… siseshow answered! this is why sideshow is the best!
He should also have different boots that are light brown. Not Mace’s which are dark.
Well, it’s sure a cool move about the saber.
BUT the outfit is far off!!! Why very few people notice this I’m not sure, but he’d didn’t wear white pants, and the tunic was brown not tan.
Hoepfully they’ll fix it though. I’m loving these!
Nice to see that Sideshow is listening and have made the change that so many were asking for.
Now, hopefully they will address the costume as well.
I too am very pleased with this announcement about the lightsaber blade. I am on the staff at deathstarplans2.com and have posted an article about it.
However, like many others, I am still a bit concerned about the costume. We have been overloaded by Order Of The Jedi figures that have too many accessories and clothes that are the same. I sure hope that Plo’s outfit is still in the design stages and that it will be at least accurate enough to please most folks that have been commenting about it. Sideshow’s customer service has been nothing short of incredible with me, and this change brings hope that the final Plo will be outstanding.
this is the reason i’ve gone to primarily ordering my figures from SS. albeit a small thing with blade color discrepancy it demonstrates that SS does indeed listen to its customers and respects their wishes. you don’t often find a company willing to do as you’ve done time and again, and i thank you for it. now i’m just waiting for a Dooku and Palpatine 1/6.
Can I work for SST? Will work for product
Your dedication to your customers is legendary and exemplary…now quit lightening my wallet
SS, is it possible to give him a darker color of pants? Something about his white pants that just look off. So how hard is it to make changes to this figure? Is he already in production?
Just curious.
Way to git’r done SideShow!!!!
This is what a real customer motivated company is all about! All other manufacturers should take note. Thanks for listening! You guys ROCK!
now if they can only fix the rest of the costume
Thanks Sideshow! The Blue Lightsaber is AWESOME! Now like some others have noted PLEASE Look at the colors for his boots and clothes again. If you nail the colors you nail the figure. The Sculpt is already Fantastic. The more movie accurate you can make each figure the better they become. Thanks again for hearing our voice. We know you care about your product as much as we do.
Thank you sooooooo much Sideshow!
Thanks for making the lightsaber blade blue…movie accurate! SS, you people rule!!! The yellow/gold blade from Hasbro’s Power Of The Jedi Plo Koon figure(released as the Ep.1 Plo Koon) is neat looking, but never seen in that movie or any other movie. I’m not against the expanded universe of Star Wars, but if I had to pick one or the other, I prefer figures to be movie accurate. Thanks again for changing the blade to blue, as seen in AOTC. Keep making these top-notch figures SS.
Just great! The figure looks even better than before. How cool that you changed this. Well done!

Still wish he had his Episode 1 saber.”
There was no Ep1 saber blade shown, silly.
Wow. PERFECTION!!! Yes. You guys at SS rule. I’m just trusting that my Exclusive reservation will pull through…oh, and the gauntlet should remain green, since it was green in the concept art. Hmmmm…this may sound weird, but mabe his gold saber could be an exclusive accessory to some other figure down the road…I guess it would be “a” gold saber, not “his” gold saber…still, cool concept.
Well, I for one have to agree. Since the price on these have apparently jumped 410; why not include the green, blue, and gold blades? Afterall, Im sure it isnt THAT expensive to add them. What are they 3 cents for 5000?
Anyway; I like it; dont care what color the saber is; as long as it is an official movie color.
And, since we are talking about listening to us; here’s my vote again for Inclusive. Never exclusive.
SSC…what an amazing company you all are. While PK’s saber colour didn’t matter to me either way, I’m still impressed to see how attuned you are to your fans. I’ve seen a lot of childish whining and moaning over small details in SSC’s SW product, but just know that there are still far more of us who love what you all are providing for SW toy fans!
I felt this day would come. A million thanks SSC!
If you do Old, I’m about to disappear from the Death Star for good, “Ben” Kenobi 12″ can he at least have the golden yellow blade?? 70′s 12″ Kenner style!! THAT would be sweet!! But I also agree Plo looked very nice in Ep1 figs with the golden blade. Maybe it’s a Lucas thing.
Sideshow always fixes the problem and always listen to the feedback! Thanks Sideshow and well done!!!! I for one am happy about the lightsaber color change!
Ummm, can we still get him his own costume and boots rather then Mace Windu’s? Puuulleeaassee?
That’s great that you guys changed it to the correct blue saber; though I still would’ve loved to see his yellow saber as well.
I hope the exclusive gauntlet is still green because that is how it was painted in the concept art.
…and who says Sideshow doesn’t care?
Why don’t you just include both color blades? It’s clear stick of plastic, make it removable if it isn’t already. I don’t own any yet so I’m not sure.
I was really happy to see you guys went with green in the first place and I was bummed I missed out on the exclusive version. I wasn’t even aware of the double saber thing until after it was sold out.
At least you left the wrist saber alone.
Though I still prefer the yellow/gold saber personally. It made him stand out (the Ep. 1 figure and Jedi Power Battles for PS1).
Oh well, if there is a push for this to be blue then thanks for going ahead with that.
Still wish he had his Episode 1 saber.
Awesome, now how about giving him new sculpted light brown boots and brown pants?
Awesome SS! We love that you listen to us. Thanks!
Holly hell! I love you, SS!
thanks Sideshow. i knew you had it in you.
And this ladies and Gents is why I will never stop buying SS/
I’m curious Sideshow, was this an easy decision? How hard or how easy is it to make such a modification, after a figure has been announced to the public? Is there still enough time and room to make alterations in the production schedule of this figure? Is it expensive? Will there be a delay?
Also, I am quite surprised that there was such an uproar for his blue blade. He only had for 1/10th of a second in AOTC.
Oh well. As I said earlier, one way or the other, the color of his blade was not going to keep me from buying this bad boy.
awesome!!
Wow SS, I did not think you would do that. I was actually digging the green blades but I guess I was in the minority. The blue blade was not bad. Im also glad that the gauntlet remains green.
Just out of curiousity, there was not much of a request for a “gold” lightsaber blade???
