little late now dolface, but beer, lots of free be, send ‘em for an extended lunch and they probably won’t be back. maybe next time : )

  2. dollface says:

Ok guys, picture this: you work in IT, computers all around, you’re an administrator so you can login on 99.99% of them. Internet connection speed? Seconds! You’re in tight w/ the Network Security guys so screw the firewalls and internet security blocks. And, oh Lordy,
SS has a PPO …Of Ben-freaking-Kenobi no less! You logon to 5 different computers (just in case some over-achieving co-worker is thinking about running some report which takes 3 days to compile). You’re ready! Yea baby.
Then you get a company message that the service guys are in the building to perform annual maintenance on all HVACs. So the industrial grade AC’s keep the room at optimum temp so the computers and servers don’t blow up. But *#&>!@ must they do this TODAY!!!!!
AAARRRGHHHHHHHHH! I need a plan guys, help me get these service guys outta here, any ideas? C’mon, I know you have devious ways of handling “inconveniences” – so how about it? anyone? anyone?

  3. Puay says:

… maybe more accessories for future releases. Great work SSC!

  4. Puay says:

On top of an excellence head sculpt we are getting such a fantastic accessory, what more can I ask for….

  5. lebron james says:

    pls re release BUBO

  6. JediAdept says:

    Fantastic figure.

I’d pay, say, 17,000 credits for one (2 grand up-front, 15 when it gets to Sideshow).

  7. JediNight says:

Dude… JediTiger. It’s only Wednesday. I understand that you’re excited, but don’t get ahead of yourself here ;)

  8. JediTiger says:

Ok. It is 12:18 pm CT (10:18 am PT) here in the midwest and I do not see the PPO up for this figure. What gives? The caption above says PPO starts at 10 am PT Thursday, June 7th. Here we are and no PPO. What’s the deal SS?

  9. ML says:

Im relatively new to sixth scale figures, so imagine how happy i am the first time I saw a 12″ figure (Anakin no less). I have to say Episode IV Obi Wan is a must have! Although I do hope that you re-release an improve version of Jedi Luke w/o the monkey arms. Fingers crossed. (I missed that figure.) A slave Leia would also be nice.

  10. Michael says:

Looks great as usual! My only concern, is it just me or what’s up with the Dumbo ears? A little much maybe? I don’t remember them sticking out quite so much on the actor… But the face is perfect! Bring on Tatooine Luke!

  11. OLD SCHOOL says:

Oh yeah, and ANH Han Solo, Vader, and Stormtroopers & Sandtroopers and….oh God SS, you’ve made me 9 yrs old again….thanks….

  12. OLD SCHOOL says:

Fantastic! Give us ANH Luke-Jedi Apprentice to go with!!!

  13. icarus says:

Count me in , best yet!
The pre-order will be a fight for this one.

  14. Itto0gami says:

Sideshow – Why do you take the time to come up with an excellent plan for collectors to get their hands on the excellent special accessories offered with your figures (Inclusive Edition) and then not use it on one of the most popular characters in the entire Saga?

  15. Stephen says:

I’d love to pose that Obi Wan giving a high five to the ROTS Obi Wan XD

  16. Tom Solo says:

Well well, seems as though y’all may have outdone yourselves with this. A couple of these pictures do indeed look life-like. Keep raising the bar and hit those marks for us & we’ll all chip in and buy you guys new houses and cars and stuff, I promise.

  17. jedibear says:

    abaolutely atunning…
I had the pleasure of seeing this figure up close at ClV and it is truly amazing!
    Thank you Sideshow!

Now if only we could get an Episode One version of him…hint hint!

  18. John says:

Scott you must be crazy. The episode 3 obiwan was absolutely amazing. I for one love that figure. To me it looks like Ewan McGreggor is staring right back at me. To me that is the best regular 12″ figure sideshow has ever done!! no disapointment of any kind from my viewpoint. I love this one as well. I think it would be a wonderful idea for an expansion pack to have his trunk from a new hope full of stuff from which he gives luke anakins lightsaber. Just an idea and PLEASE give us new figures like the Max Rebo band and Amanaman, Oola, Aalya Secura, And I for one would love a 12″ scale Jedi master Rancisis (the snake looking guy with the grey hair and 4 arms) he was so different. You could pack him with say Yaddle or Yoda for that matter. Well keep up the outstanding Job!!!!!

  19. JOE says:

I’ll be online at 1pm EST for sure for this one. This looks so awesome and the exclusives are cool too. I like that the amount is limited to 1977 too! Bring on Thursday!

  20. Adam says:

One other thing, and it is just a minor nitpik…

I’ll agree that I’d like to see the “seeker” stand taller. It looks fine for Obi, but when the inevitable “Luke/Tattoine” is offered, I’d like to have him be able to duel with it. Unless of course you plan on offering this accessory again? However, wouldn’t “Farmboy” come with alot of accessories as it is, i.e. hands, saber, both pistol and imp-rifle, both belts, grappler, training helmet and gilligan cap, and desert shaw? Just stirring the pot.

  21. Adam says:

Thursday, huh??? This is a little different. O’well, I’ll find some kind of way to get to a computer or a tele just tp make sure I get this. Sure, Hasbro released this, what like 6 times? But when you nail it, then it becomes very hard to pass up!

  22. scott says:

This looks like a great figure. I don’t know how difficult it was to sculpt the Ep III version, but I think we were all really disapointed with it. A Fabulous Episode 4 Obi helps.
Please do a Episode 1 Obi Wan to accompany Gui Gonn.
This is a most wonderful job.

  23. joe says:

an excellent likeness, the best i think i’ve seen in a long time, the sculptors have really outdone themselves. I hope the final production model maintains this quality. I’m not sure about the likeness of leia, i am most worried my kids might confuse her with one of those gummy fruit shapes i send in their lunches. I can hear it now, good lunch dad, leia was a bit chewy.

  24. Tom Savini says:

I think the hint is the arm being out in the one pictured, possibly on top of R2′s head?

  25. Swordfish says:

Now, the 10,000 question. Does Obi wan wear pants under all that?

  26. HAPPYBOY says:

Looks great to me, I can’t wait to see what it looks like up close and personal. Now, hopefully I can be lucky enough to grab it quick enough to get the exclusive, because I’m not sure how long this one will be around. Thanks for another hit Sideshow, rock on!

  27. Mark says:

    Adam,
I don’t think you’re being too negative at all. It’s a big let down when the prototype looks great and then we’re hit with a production figure that has a paint job that is lacking. Obi looks FANTASTIC, so I am also concerned that the actual product won’t live up to the proto. Let’s hope this is not the case here. Fingers crossed.

  28. Adam says:

I hope this isn’t too negative, but let’s hope it doesn’t change appearances from the prototype like the Yavin Luke. :(

  29. Gruff Old Bear says:

Best likeness yet. Ever. Imaginable. Supply your own adjective. Wow.

  30. The Earl of Dunfield says:

Are you sure this isn’t the PF?

  31. ColinS says:

Ummmm… Is this the PF for sale or the 12-inch? I can’t tell. Anyways- once again, OUTSTANDING sculpt sideshow!!!Please limit the exclusive to 1977 again. Anything more would be uncivilized.

  32. Kyle W can’t wait for Thursday! says:

Or actually for the day my doorbell rings for this old geezer! What a great likeness. We know you’re gonna add a bloody Ponda Baba arm and a box of tissues for the old man to give Luke when he whines, aren’t you?

  33. Sachiel says:

How about a picture without his robe on?

  34. Reaper says:

Great job Sideshow. Sir Alec would be proud! On a side note, this has me wondering if the standard ANH Luke will come with the helmet & blast shield as an exclusive to pose out the training scene on the Falcon since Obi Wan’s regular accessory is the training droid vs. Anakin’s light saber hilt which will no doubt come with the regular version of ANH Luke.

  35. Sachiel says:

Now that’s how it’s done Sideshow. And no huge head!

  36. Eddie says:

Oh, another thing. Does the holographic Leia lead to a hint of *GASP* a droid set with R2-D2 and C3PO? :D

  37. Eddie says:

I am so excited about this figure. I cannot wait.

  38. Darth Mel says:

I am very astonished by the absolute likeness of the older Obi-wan Kenobi, he is a definitive essence of the Jedis of long ago. I still wish you had created a Darth Sidious figure or a DARTH VADER. It would surely balance the force a bit. Great job and keep them force sensitive characters coming, like Yoda, Aayla Secura or Ki Adi Mundi. Hint Hint

  39. the militant marker says:

C’mon Sideshow, do some new characters will ya?

  40. VezinasGhost says:

    Impressive, most impressive!

  41. doot says:

Looks great! Bring on the ANH figures!

But I think the seeker ball should be on a taller stand shouldn’t it? Maybe up to his shoulder or so.

  42. It’s Me says:

Best 6th scale SW figure from SSC to date, and worst exclusive accessory.

  43. JediTray says:

Holy Schneikes! Sideshow, you folks did it again. Best likeness yet for sure. He will look great next to his younger self!

  44. pixletwin says:

I am so stoked for this one… BEN!!! BEN!!! BEN!!!!

  45. baytoy says:

    WOW!

  46. robert says:

With the 30th Anniversary of SW, what a great a figure for SS to come out with. I can not wait. Also remember, last year, after SS came out with EP III Obi Wan, Anakin soon followed. I ready for Vader to follow this one! Do not let us down!

  47. tederick says:

Tremendous, Sideshow! Going to look amazing next to my ROTS Obi-Wan…

  48. Kim Lathrop says:

Wow. I think this may be Sideshow’s best 12-inch figure likeness ever.

    Count me in.
