When the prototype for our Bespin Luke 12-inch figure was originally dressed, his jacket collar was folded down to deck him out for his photographic debut. Now sporting a more casual (and screen accurate) look, the young Jedi has popped his collar for take-two of his photo shoot! Check out the updated photos below to see Luke modeling a collared jacket cut and sewn for full versatility, capable of either look to suit any collector’s taste! Update: The full photo shoot, featuring Luke’s production costume, has now been posted to his product pages – check them out! [Exclusive Wait List] [Pre-Order the Regular Edition]

macho macho man… i don’t know, i just keep thinking he should be appearing with a native american, construction worker a,d a policeperson. i think i’ll pass on this one ssc, but i appreciate the effort. the exclusive was cool anyway.
wow, so yeah, the new luke looks great with the smaller pockets, but alas, yes still to pick, dont get upset sideshow, we are just trying to help you make this the ultimate luke figure, you can see its popularity (hint hint premium format with light up saber) but yes the collar still needs to come down a bit lower, and the gun belt does need to sit looser, these 2 small changes and this luke will for sure be the best one out there!!!!
Thank you sideshow for the changes to the outfit. He looks absolutely perfect. Another example of how SS works extra hard to make sure we fans are happy with their product. Can’t wait for him to arrive.
Gay-Zor, There is nothing to be ashamed about…I’ll bet Jesus digs Sideshow Collectibles as well!
The Belt looked fine with the first jacket design…But with the more tailored jacket the tightness of the belt is BLARINGLY loud…Sorry to be so picky…
You know, I can’t wait for this figure. But it’s a real shame that some of us are going to have to add additional pleather to the belt…Great figure…Great gun Belt except it looks like his circulation is being cut off to his leg…Really, the belt looks like a tournaquet…Please Sideshow…Make this the ULTIMATE figure…Fix the belt…Either way, I can’t wait until my EXCLUSIVE figure arrives!!!
Major fixes seem necessary. I won’t complain at all if it causes a delay in manufacturing, but if this thing comes out as wrong as it looks in these pictures, I’ll be greatly disappointed.
Nicholas Gay-Zor… you need Jesus.
Please give more belt length…You reworked the holster itself, now how about the waist clasp? Still…SIDESHOW ROCKS!!!!
From what I can tell, Mark’s jacket didn’t really fit him in the movie either. Anyhow, it looks fine to me and it’s funny how with C4 Luke you had to flip the collar down to get the desired “butterfly effect”, while in the in the ’80s it’s soo much cooler to go “turtleneck”. Star Wars fans so fashion savy!!!
I’m almost ashamed of how much joy these dolls give me but I’m trying to learn to throw that shame away and to follow what feels good. As pathetic as it might sound, my Sideshow Star Wars dolls got me through a real depressing month.
Hasbro doesnt enter into it, and has no bearing upon whether SS gets it right or not. As of now, I’m not ordering this figure, it’s not close enough for me. Yavin Luke was really bad, I would have to see this Luke’s costume become more accurate before I’d consider this a must-have figure. It just seems like SS doesn’t give the 12 inch stuff the attention to detail it does other things… too many inaccuracies and annoying little things like sleeves being a tad too short, belts not having enough adjustability so they end up breaking, etc. I never worry about that when ordering Hot Toys or Medicom… I want it to be that way with SS too.
So just because it’s better than Hasbro we’re supposed to roll over and be grateful? I don’t think so. Sideshow’s been doing a decent job, and yeah, they’re better than Hasbro, but I just don’t see an attention to accuracy that I expect from a company that makes “collectibles.”
I have one word that will make everyone feel better about all these little nit-picky things you’re complaining about, and that’s to keep in mind one thing before your complain about anything Sideshow does…Hasbro. Nuff said.
It does look better with the collar turned up, but the collar is now way too high, it should stop halfway up his neck, not his face. And I still can’t get past those giant pockets, they’re about 25% too large and too high up the jacket. Finally, the gun belt is loose on this costume, it sags slightly in the movie. I only mention this stuff because this is one of those figures I really think is so close that I hate to see little stuff in the costume torpedo it.
I’m satisfied with Luke and he’s on my preorder list. Hey Mistress and Dusty, where is the Elvis contest for today? The KING died thirty years ago and there is nothing going on for him? How could you guys make this oversight? I thought we’d get a chance at winning a PF today or at least a fried banana and peanut butter sandwich. Speaking of which, when do you guys plan on another Elvis? I’d love to see the one where he’s buldging out of his jumpsuit with a sandwich in hand. The exclusive could be a bottle of pills or a toilet for him to vagal on!
I agree with arnax about the belt being fragile. The belt on my Han Solo was so fragile that the holster came off the leg strap and all I did was unpack the figure. A little super glue fixed it right up but it’s a bit aggrivating to have to fix a brand new figure.
Hard to tell if the collar was altered or just turned up. I believe it should resemble the collar on Han’s ESB jacket. The pockets do need to be addressed though. Please sideshow make these minor changes. This is my all time favorite version of Luke and I’d like to be the best ever made 5 years from now.
The outfit looks a tad baggy. Just a little, but that’s something they’ll likely remedy before release. The pockets are way too big though.
Say, I know I’m beating a dead, buried and decomposed horse here, but how about a Darth Vader figure so that we have someone to pose this guy with. A radical concept I know, but we’ve been saying it for a couple of years now… I’ve already said I’m not buying more than one version of any characters until you guys have done Vader and Fett. If you guys improve this Luke’s outfit a little I might reconsider that position.
He looks awesome! The pockets could be a tad smaller though.
I don’t get the line about suiting any collector’s taste. There are people who might want to have his collar not-like it is in the movie? I thought his collar was just like Han’s. The puppie carriers aren’t the only thing that are still too big.
Shrinking the pockets might make sewing more difficult. Hey we are talking about SSC here.
I saw Star Wars – Empire strikes back when it was released, but I can´t remember Mark Hamill look like John Goodman?
Also, The belt could be just a bit looser. I own the Han Solo, and that belt is too fragile…A little more belt-length in the waist would help us attain greater screen accuracy. Study closely any screen shot of Luke in Empire, and his belt is hanging down because of the weight of his blaster, the droid caller pouch, and the other pouch. I hope Sideshow will take this into consideration before production begins. This is still, in my opinion, the GREATEST FIGURE EVER!!!!!!!!!
PS: The pockets could be tad lower…
Yep. That’s accurate. I am looking at a vintage photo card back right now…It is almost perfect. Sideshow rules…I cannot wait for this figure. This is one I have been whining about since the SIdeshow SW line began…Now we need a Lando! In full CLoud CIty regalia..Also thankyou for showing updated photos…I have already started assembling the parts for a diorama to display the greatness of this work of art!!! Now I wish I had not passed on the Medicom Yoda…SIdeshow, make a Yoda, PLEASE!!!! It would be the definitive 1/6th scale incarnation of the character!!!
I AGREE WITH RAINMAN. ALL THATS HAPPENED IS THE COLLAR IS FLIPPED UP. IF WE HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU SS (AND I DONT KNOW WHO DOES YOUR COSTUME REFERENCING) THE COLLAR SHOULD NOT BE HIGHER THEN LUKES CHIN LINE. AND THE POCKETS, ARE WAAAY TOO BIG!!! THE TOP OF THE POCKETS SHOULD ONLY GO TO THE FIGURES ARMPIT IN HEIGHT. CMON GUYS, THE QUALITY IS DROPPING! IF U MAKE A PREMIUM FORMAT OF LUKE BESPIN (WHICH I HOPE YOU DO!) IT WOULD WANA BE A LOT BETTER THEN THIS! ACTUALLY WHILE WE ARE ON THE SUBJECT OF PREMIUM FORMAT, HOW BOUT A LUKE WHICH HAS A LIGHT UP SABER, SO FAR BOTH PF LUKES HAVE NO SABERS!!!
All they did was flip the collar up so I don’t know that it is screen accurate.
Coll SS, you fixed the collar, now if you would just make the pockets a little bit smaller… PLEASE
I hope the “full photo update” in the coming weeks includes the re tailored pockets.. Those puppies could hold… um… puppies!
