Sideshow Collectibles is always looking for ways to improve your shopping experience. With that in mind, we are proud to launch a brand new ‘streamline’ ordering system that debuted during the Medicom Toy Darth Maul RAH Priority Pre-Order.
The new system was specifically built to increase the speed at which qualified customers can place their order. How did we do this? First and foremost, we’ve decreased the number of clicks it takes to place your order – from four down to three.
Secondly, we’ve decided to share the complete product details with our customers before the Priority Pre-Order begins! A novel idea, we know, but the new ‘streamline’ landing page will include the following: product description, pricing, edition size, the image gallery and more. By providing you this information up front, there is one less item that needs to load while you race through our streamline system.
In addition to the speed enhancements, you will also notice a new feature on our ‘streamline’ landing page – a clock. This clock shows the exact Pacific Time according to our web server. The time on this clock is the most accurate representation of the time we can possibly give you. And not only that, the ‘streamline’ landing page will refresh automatically for you, redirecting you to the order process as soon as the item is available! No longer will you need to hit the refresh button or the F5 key!
To introduce you to this system, we’ve provided a few screen grabs from the system, as seen below.
Remember, as with all Priority Pre-Order streamline experiences, you must set up your SideshowCollectibles.com User Account and be an active newsletter member a full 24 hours previous to a Priority Pre-Order. IMPORTANT: You must also have your shipping address, billing address and COMPLETE payment information entered into your account before you begin the ‘streamline’ process, as you will NOT be able to update this information during the event.

Big props go to Sideshow for always eveolving thier order process to try to make it as simple and effective as possible. It looks like a great improvement, but as stated above we shall have to wait and see how it all goes, but hey, at least it is progress toward a fair and friendly buying experience. Sideshow—Kudos awarded.
I’m all for anything that makes things better.
But, the greatest help for ordering is actually not here, it is in making everything inclusive, for a full day. This allows everyone who wants one the opportunity to get one.
And, it ticks off the ebay scalpers, because their only purpose is to make money. (Which Ive said before and will say again. I dont begrudge anyone anything. It’s just that collecting should be priority one; not resellers, who cheat, and find ways to get more than the max allowed).
Hopefully this will allow me to reduce the blood pressure pills necessary to survive the process. ROFLOL.

This looks really cool but how do you apply rewards points to the order?
I’m glad there’s some action being put into the PPO issues, and I hope they do work out well.
However, won’t having 2 pages automatically refresh over and over cause MORE server loads rather than less? And on the user end, if they get a page that loads during a heavy-traffic period, what happens when the page goes to reload and cannot, thus stranding the user? Won’t this leave the user more frustrated than not seeing anything at all?
Pretty soon, Sideshow, there will no longer be an adrenaline rush accompanying a PPO; due to the consistent measures taken to ease the experience. Now, I ask you, “Where’s the fun in that?” (LOL)
This looks even simpler than before–I like the idea of selecting the item and logging on together in one step.
So when will the PPO for the Willow figure actually take place?
Looks pretty good, but I’ll will have to try it out first to see how smoothly it works tomorrow morning!
