I take back the things I said about the likeness. This is good. I’m still not in love with the ball joint shoulders jutting out from the vest so severely. I can’t wait to see how you handle ANH Luke.
I was just checking over at Rebelscum, and viewed the archive photos for the soon to be released “Old Ben” Kenobi, and I notice in one that he is posed with Darth Vader (only the arm, hand, cape and saber are visible) . So my question is this, did Medicom Toys make a Vader AHN or ESB version, because he is holding the ANH or ESB Lightsaber? I thought that Medicom made the ROTJ and ROTS Darth Vader only. And another thing, the lightsaber blade looks purplish red unlike the color of a SSC red lightsaber. Maybe Rebelscum is playing a trick or wishful thinking.

Kevin C: the ‘ford finger’ is the one he does most of his acting with, check him out in any film, he’s always gesturing the finger at somebody. There are websites devoted to his acting style!

Hey SS, thanks for adding the Stormtrooper blaster back into the mix! I am so excited about this one that it wouldn’t have made a real difference if he didn’t have it, I still would have been happier than a pig in…well you know, but the additional blaster is most welcome!!!

Imo, the head sculpt is extremely well done, just look at the unpainted head, it looks just Harrison Ford. The problem is with the painting of it. Which proves that a bad paint job can ruin a good sculpt. Since this is a pic of proto type , I hope SS fixed this on the final product. I also agree that a trooper belt would have been a better exclusive, since SS included the blaster.
Seeing as how they decided to throw in the Stormtrooper blaster, how about the belt too? Since he used them both on the Death Star this will be the only opportunity to give us a complete ANH Han. And if you throw in the Stormtrooper belt you might as well throw in the gunner headset as well. Heck, just give us the “complete” ANH Han “Ford Finger” and all! That’s what we all really want.
Who are all these blind people who think this face sculpt is off? I challenge you to site a better one. Or just sculpt one yourselves.

Looking good Sideshow. I’m not quite sure about the exclusive but I can always use an extra blaster. Since we’re on the topic of Mr. Solo I’d like a Han/Carbonite expansion pack please.
Regarding the shirt, Han’s shirt sleeves were well above his wrist (exactly how SS designed it). For the gun differences look up “Greedo Killer” blaster and Han Solo “Hero” blaster on google or partsofsw.com. Would have rather had a stormtrooper belt or headset but “oh well”; It still looks awesome!
well, i like the figure, but i’m not completely sold on this being the best exclusive choice. I had never noticed the blaster difference, and to be honest, it’s kind of irrelivant. I think there could have been better choices here. how about the fuzzy dice from the cockpit? and is it just me, or do these last few star wars exclusive items seem to be getting really small? is that just because it’s easier to package? we’ve had a gummy princess leia, the handcuffs, a blaster with the other leia, a little sith statue and now this, another blaster, you’ve done better in the past with these ssc, lets work to improve the collectability of the star wars line.
I compared the unpainted head side-by-side with the painted head, and I’d swear they are not quite the same mold. The jaw looks wider and the chin slightly bulkier on the painted one. The unpainted mold is definitely better looking. Also the eye painting just does not look like Harrison.
As someone else pointed out, Sideshow, PLEASE start making soft boots for flexing. Also, enough excuses. (“Need a larger body, need to perfect armor”… Whaa, whaa) Darth Vader or Boba Fett are long overdue.
Let’s hope all the feedback on the exclusive option will change the minds of the decision makers to include something else with Han Solo. Still waiting for a possible 08′ rollout of Chewie, droids & more jedi. Thanks Sideshow!

Head sculpt isn’t perfect but hopefully it’ll change a bit. Love outfit apart from the shirt which looks a bit short in the sleeves.
I’ll give him Prajjs stormtrooper blaster and P can keep the officer one.
If he has the gloved hands why not the headset?
the best so far, the sculpt is exellent, but for gods sake – sort the boots out & when are you going to make a new male body with a Hot Toys style double neck joint !
Oh and just one more thing, I keep being ignored on this so I’ll capitalise it:
SOFTER BOOTS ALLOW FOR ANKLE POSEABILITY WHICH ALLOWS FOR BETTER DYNAMIC POSES, IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!
DAMN THOSE RIGID BOOTS- DAMN THEM ALL TO HEEEELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

Everyone keeps complaining that the paint isn’t correct. I think it’s the best Han, yet. So just because he is on Tattoine you all want him to have a TAN, right? Remember he’s a smuggler. SSC you can keep my Han’s ungloved hands, because mine will be wearing gloves 24/7. Thanks for the gloved hands. SSC way to go with the research about the -cantina blaster- . I was hoping that also included with his accessories would’ve been the Stromtrooper belt and the Ceremony medal. SSC I do hope that you will consider making Lando from Bespin or maybe his disguise in the Hutt’s palace. And as collectors we truly need to see the droids and Darth Vader. I believe the delay for Vader is because a new and larger doll body needs to be designed, one without chicken legs.
Wow, just WOW! I have been waiting for an ANH Han ever since it was announced that SS got the license! It has been number one on my list of wants forever. Great job SS, you met and eceeded all of my expectations for this figure. Here’s to hoping that Indy turns out just as good, if not better!

As for the people complaining about the sculpt and how he looks and all the other complaints, I’ll wager they’ll be ordering the exclusive version come Friday!
Dope! Though I’m surprised the exclusive accessory isn’t the Rebel ceremony medal; can’t imagine getting that piece with any other offering. I’m also confused about what the difference is between the regular blaster and the cantina blaster…
Oh yeah… if you think I’m skipping on the “exclusive” version, I’d say you’ve lost your effing mind!!!!
Nice looking figure for sure, yet I can’t help but be a little underwhelmed by the exclusive accessory. The only time you see Han wear flight gloves is when he’s in the turret with the “comlink” headset on. It might be a little late in the process for us to petition Sideshow to include the item, but perhaps they will keep it in mind down the road in some other offering. Ditto’s for the Stormtrooper “utility” belt!
Also, PLEASE, PLEASE include the infamous “Ford Finger!” Or at least have it ready for Indy! Please.

I agree. Not exactly the best exclusive accessory, Sideshow. You did the gloved hands, so the headset should have accompanied them, or perhaps like others have mentioned, the Stormtrooper belt. Not sure I’m digging how short and tight the shirt is, either. I prefer to have the shirts look a little more loose and able to cover the wrist joints. Oh well, at least this likeness is better than the Bespin version, at least so far. We’ll see what happens to the production version.

sorry to disagree with most of you guys but this is possibly one of the biggest disappointments in the whole Star Wars line….sideshow has started to pump these things too fast and are losing detail on their sculpts…this looks nothing like Harrison at all!! For all of those who think it’s bang on, i’m sorry but you guys seem to be the type that’ll buy whatever is thrown out on the market that has “Star Wars” on it. Hopefully sideshow will regain their detail in the near future before they start going downhill

That is one of the geekiest exclusives ever. I really expected him to come with the award medallion to place him next to the Luke you guys released. The gloved hands need the headset as well. You’ll get my money still. Can you guys give us an extra head to replace the chubby cheeked bespin one?
Figure looks ok, but I REALLY REALLY wish sideshow would learn how to hide the joints better, especially if they are visible like the wrist joint, it really detracts from the sculptures imo.

I have to agree the blaster pistol variant is a ridiculous accessory here. This is no motivation at all to purchase an exclusive. Stormtrooper Belt or Stormtrooper Blaster would have been cool but this is senseless. The sculpting and design work at sideshow continues strong, but the production and decision making over what is offered is falling way short. Come on, guys – people arent wanting to drop $65 plus shipping on a figure that isnt top notch.
lame. i know the exclusive is basically a freebie, but come on. make it something to get excited about, not something so obscure that no onE cares. i think i’m done with this line, and sideshow…
I’ve waited thirty years for someone to get this guy right, and now it may finally come to pass. My only gripe is the same gripe I have everytime you offer a potentially hot PPO – BRING BACK INCLUSIVE EDITION ORDERING! It gives everyone who wants one of these guys a week-end to place an order, and it saves you bucks by not having to call an IT guy when your servers fry. Which they will.
This is one exclusive I can live without. I was really hoping the exclusive would be the headset or the Stormtrooper belt, but this? There’s very little difference between the “Greedo Killer” and the hangar blaster. I can live with the regular edition.

As I understand it… Ford had his blaster during filming in 1976. In January 1977, when they shot extra stuff like all the Tattoine desert footage they didn’t get in Tunisia, they also finished the Cantina Scene with new shots of better aliens (thanks to Rick Baker, Rob Bottin, and others). They realized they never got a closeup of Han’s hand unholstering the blaster. When they went to get the prop , it was nowhere to be found. So, they had to cobble up a quick one for the shot, hence the title ‘cantina blaster’ or ‘Greedo Killer’, as the prop collectors call it.
I could be 100% wrong; this is just the story I was told.
I think it’s the PERFECT exclusive for this figure!

The alternate blaster is a bit of a surprise. I can’t say that I can tell the difference. I do love the fact that he comes with both the gloved and ungloved hands.
Looks pretty good. I still prefer the Bespin Han though, the eyes work better on that. They seem a bit off here.
