Remember that the Priority Pre-Order event for our new Sideshow Exclusive Luke Skywalker Episode IV 12-inch figure begins Friday, January 18th, 2008, at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time). For those of you who can’t wait to see the full figure, we’re posting the product gallery and info a bit early (see below).
As you can see from the substantial costume and accessory list, we have set out to give Star Wars collectors the most comprehensive and iconic version of Luke Skywalker ever released in 12-inches! We have spared no expense in tooling and fabrication to bring you the absolute best and most detailed Luke that we can offer, despite the rising cost of manufacturing overseas. After all, this is where the whole saga begins – with a farm boy on Tatooine!
The Sideshow Exclusive edition of this figure will only be available direct from SideshowCollectibles.com and features Luke’s floppy desert hat and goggles accessories, which hardcore Star Wars fans will recognize from a scene that never made it to the final print of the film! Just completed my order Sideshow…It was effortless!!! Thank you for creating such great works of art!!! I thought my Bespin Luke was the best, now that has changed!!! This is THE Luke to have!!!! Great accessories and fabrication!!! Do the boots have cloth goods!!! He will look great in my custom 1/6 sandsppeeder, with Obi-Wan and my Marmit Sandtrooper!!! Now we HAVE TO HAVE DROIDS!!!! And CHEWIE!!!!

The sculpt on this figure and lukes eyes my god……… scary as hell if i were vader id run because luke is supposed to luke innocent this luke looks like a killer id hate to face him plus the tusken raiders will prlly run
dont like the sculpt but ill will say the bespin luke was great have to pass on this one.

Just because you keep CRYING for them it doesn’t mean SSC will cave in and make them. The Stormtrooper figure will come in time just be patient!

I was gonna get this, but I wasn’t too excited about it with the abundance of Lukes recently. Now with the floppy hat, this is totally exciting!!
good one, bmarz1000. i plan on getting another ANH leia, so luke can have that stormtrooper blaster. now just have to figure the best way to make a custom belt, complete with grappling hook…:)
This is incredible. The expression on his face perfectly captures the dissatisfaction he feels on his restrictive home planet. This and the ep 4 Obi Wan are amazing. Lukes’ billowy shirt works well which is impressive since loose clothing on dolls often doesn’t hang correctly. Way to go.
Also, why does Luke have the “big hand blues”?
It’s sad that Luke won’t have a blaster pistol of any kind, but oh well. I still think this should be a $54.99 figure to make up for the sticker shock of Han.
Your prices have definitely forced (no pun intended) my hand in my collecting habits, Sideshow. At first, I had every 12″ scale figure, now I have to pick and choose.
I agree the face is just a little off, but it’s still and awesome figure. If the price’s will be going up would it be to much to ask for a better buck for my bucks?
Great figure! Lame exclusives. How about a blastshield helmet to go with the (now useless) training remote that came with Obi Wan? A stormtrooper belt would have been MUCH better also. Remember the scene where Luke uses his grappling hook and stormie belt to swing across the chasm to safety? Now, remember the scene where Luke has his ski googles and Gilligan hat? EXACTLY.
Ummm…please put the Stormtrooper blaster back up there.
Not bad, I can definitely see it from its left side. He seems a little squinty, I guess from staring at the twin sunsets day in and day out. It looks like SSC is using a modification of the ESB lightsaber from what appears to be the duplicate knurled button on the underside, the ANH saber had a nearly-flat test lens, hopefully that will be addressed.
This figure rules!!! The boots are AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to own this figure!!!!
Does his belt come with the long tool pouch too? I dont see it in the pics!
Looks good so far. I only wish the Exclusive accessory would be the stormtrooper belt (with blaster, holster, grappling hook, and comlink) instead.
Amazing likeness! The BEST Luke sculpt yet! I am definitely getting this one for sure!

Where are you seeing a Stormtrooper rifle? It’s not in any of the pictures and it’s not listed in the accessories.
I love all the shots of Luke with his itchy trigger finger ready. He must have been a gunslinger back on Tatooine.
I’m not to sure about the face. There is something off. He looks too old maybe. It doesn’t capture the youth of Luke. I hope the metion in the production blog of rising over-seas costs is a pre-cursor to a price increase. I’ve already skipped out on two PF’s and the entire line of Aliens/Predator so I can keep collecting the figures that I want. I am very understanding of the quality in SS products, but if they keep increasing in price, then I have to buy less. I would be in favor of fewer releases to compensate for price increases. That way, I, and hopefully other collectors too, would have a chance to get all the figures they want and not exclude certain lines that are being produced. Not complaining SS, just throwing some ideas out there.

Got the pre-order info this morning in full surprise. I hadn’t known yet, that there will be an EpIV-Luke. And then it looks so fantastic, can’t wait till tomorrow
Luke will look great all together with EpIV-Han and old Obi-Wan.
I don’t see the poncho on the accessory list. Obviously it’s on the figure in the pics. Is this part of the exclusive package or will the standard version also come with it? By the way great figure people.
Sorry Sideshow, this Luke still needs a ton of work – it looks nothing like the character and if you’re going to go ahead and release it, at least pack in the “Blast Shield Helmet” so collectors can hide the poor face sculpt.
The costume and accessories are amazingly detailed and look spot on, but the face and in particular “the eyes” are the most important aspect. If that’s not working, then the whole thing suffers.
Wonderful! Trevor’s head sculpt captures that “staring at the twins suns setting” look perfectly. Great accessories )especially the rifle! Way cool!). And the boots look sensational..in fact th whole outfit looks top-notch!
Question on the binocs…will they attach on the belt front as shown on the iconic “twin suns” picture? I hope so, because that’s how this farmboy is getting displayed at my hosue

Where are everybody getting the idea he comes with a stormtrooper rifle. If I’ve missed that somewhere, I apologize. It would make a cool accessory, along with the stormtrooper belt and grappling hook, though.
At 49.99 or maybe 54.99 this would be a figure to consider but if it is 64.99 like the Han then a easy pass. I know everything is going up now days but 65.00 is to much for a basic figure. Maybe beter accessories would help.
This figure looks awesome! I am so glad that this figure is following up the ANH 12″ Obi-Wan, Leia and Han figures. All we need now is Chewie and the droids!
Why does Sideshow hate Stormtrooper BELTS? They are one of the more obvious no-brainer accessories that would make this figure (and Han) definitive versions of the characters.

Not bad…the face still bugs me. It is the best SS Luke so far, but what is going on with the nostrils and the lips? This figure will be stunning if the face is focused on before shipping. It seems like this is the same thing that was going on with the ANH Han. SS is amazing from the neck down…

okay, think i’m back on board with this one. very decent amount of accessories, and i am loving the head sculpt. the blast shield helmet or stormtrooper belt would have made MUCH better exclusives than the ridiculous looking floppy hat & goggles; is it really made out of fabric??? on the whole, however, very cool. you’ve sucked me back in, you bastards.
let’s all just hope you’ll kick it up several notches on the next one. and no more lukes for awhile!
Wow, you guys continue to push your quality with these figures, each piece seemily surpassing the previous one in some capacity. The growth your making in the short time it’s coming is great and very promising for the future. CAN WE PLEASE SEE THE RAW HEAD SCULPT, like you did for Han???

well, i can’t say i love it, but again, i’m not a huge luke fan. the hands bug me, they just look weird, maybe it’s the lighting. i’m undecided on this one, i’m not a completest on this series. the accessories do sound cool, and i wish we had some picture of those, though i do like the long rifle addition. I think i’ll have to wait and decide tomorrow, i’ll sleep on this one.

Luke looks great and definitely does justice to his iconic appearance in A New Hope. I even love the fact that you have Luke’s rifle which he pulls out while looking for sandpeople. However, I think you guys forgot a couple of accessories – What about Luke’s stormtrooper belt and grappling hook that he uses to swing across the chasm while holding Leia? I realize that this is Tatooine Luke and he only gets the Stormtrooper belt and grappling hook aboard the Death Star, but then why does he have a stormtrooper blaster?
Overall, this is still definitely an awesome piece! Great job, Sideshow!

Wow. I really love this. I am very impressed by the boots (that was a worry for me) and I love the floppy hat (cloth and wire. WOOT!).
I am a bit sad that there is no blaster helmet, but oh well.
I’ll be there Friday to order.
