The Sith Lord is currently in development at Sideshow, and is one of our most active high-priority projects. A Sideshow ‘spec ops’ development team lead by staff artist Jared Chapman is working closely with sculptor Hernan Alé to breathe new life into Darth Vader. Whatever you do, please do not make it ANH vader. I would like to think that George Lucas put the inner cloak under the armor for III, V, and VI instead of on top for a reason. It just wouldn’t look right.

It’s Great to see all the comments for this release. We can tell that there are some serious collector’s and Star Wars Fans out there. For the last comment left these people love Star Wars and get into it. Which is better than hurting others or doing damage that impacts society. They may defend their favorite’s and get into it as die-hards this all makes it worth the time they put in collecting. For one not to realize this, that person is one who needs professional Help. Side Show puts in alot of time to make these 12″s to get the fans going crazy. At least the fans aren’t killing any one RIGHT!!! Thanks SideShow For keeping it interesting.
SIDESHOW… please do the ROTS version. It is the most anitomically correct helmet, etc. Also please do removable prosthetics… AND PLEASE KEEP THE PRICE DOWN… Gas is $4 a gallon and times are hard. Keep it within reach. The Obi Wan with trooper gear was too “salty” in price.
AND>>> Please give us an R2-D2 & C-3PO next. Then and only then will the circle be complete. For the guys complaining about Hayden’s ruin of Vader… you seriously need professional counseling

This is definitely cool news. I was waiting for this one. These babies are almost impossible to come by here in Japan, though. Just a few places carry them and since Sideshow doesn’t ship here (neither do some other outlets I could mention), I have to hunt and search and sweat it out to buy these.
I’m still wanting the original movie Han… still looking for a Luke… never saw Leia… can’t stand the prequel characters…
Darth will join the quest-list. But only an original trilogy Darth. Either “Star Wars” or “Empire Strikes Back,” please.
Lucas brought us the Star Wars Universe. He ruin Vader THINK!! No Fans ruin things with there non- knowledged thoughts. Speaking before thinking concept. Open up your minds and be enlighten. Still Side Show the Mediation Chamber is a awesome idea!
Hayden didnt ruin Vader…Lucas is to blame for that.
FINALLY! Packing this figure with alternate heads that feature different amounts of helmet removal would be good. This is the kind of figure that you could include an environment and expansion packs for. Torture droid, mediation chamber, what else?
First of all Hayden did not ruin Vader!! Not that I would like A ROTS version but I have to defend Hayden with RIGHTS. For a True SW fan Hayden open up doors to invision what we ALL didn’t see. A True fan would of understood that and appreciate it. Still I agree with a ESB version would be and is the best looking Vader.
I just want to make a suggestion if ever there will be any exclusive environment version like Jabba the Hutt, why not add Vader’s meditation chamber seen in the movies. That would surely be a great center piece for all the Star Wars 1/6 scale figures.

Thanks but no thanks “Steven Johnson”.A head with a pacifier or a dunce cap would best represent Hayden Christensen.Worst actor ever,almost single handedly ruined Darth Vader.I could not believe thay stuck his image in the end of the “remastered” ROTJ.Lets have the original helmetless Vader or no removeable helmet at all.They also could not do a “running collectible”.With the availability and time window to order such products most people would have only pieces of the collection.Sideshow please DO NOT take any ideas from “Steven Johnson”
Remember, as each film was made the changes to Vader’s costume were asthetic improvements. ROTS being the best, the freshly burned Anakin head is also the most visually impressive. But (Sideshow listen up) an expression of ‘stewing anger’ would best represent the nature of the character. Any thoughts to a ‘running Exclusive accessory’… with all ‘Imperial’ characters a piece of Vader’s meditation chamber… collect them all to build it?

I hope they make him to scale, like hot toys did with the Ivan Drago by making him 14 inches tall.

Glad to see you 12″ figure collectors are all happy getting the figures you actually want, Spare a thought for us premium format collectors, assja who? How hard can it be to produce a premium format stormtrooper it is not as if you need to have moving joints or sculp a facial likeness.

Aside from the big quantity that would hopefully produced, I hope SS would not make an alternate portrait (if there would be, cross fingers) as an exclusive like Asaji. Fans would love to have alternate portraits available whether it is an exclusive or not. If you are planning on making a bonus accessory for the exclusive, make it the deathstar plan or something.
Nice! I echo the comments, would love a 14″ vader, original trilogy! removable helmet a bonus. Then all i need is an army builder kit of multiple stormtroopers for a good price!
I have been waiting for this one since you guys started with the 1/6 SW figures, finally after this and a Boba Fett I can retire with the SW figures and concentrate on my Marvel statues. Watch only 1500 be made……(knocks on wood)

None of you will get anything with this Vader thaqt was not in the movies so forget about prosthesis. You will get a removeable dome and face plate. Who’s face will it be is the question. Maybe this will be a $200.00 version with accessories like a Shaw and a Hayden head? The portraits are where most of the tedius work is so you will have to pay dearly more than one unless different versions are only repaints like Assaj. It would be unfair for the exclusive accesory to be a alternate portrait and most unlikely. Sideshow knows this, why can’t you?

Thank you. I’m really glad I did not purchase the Medicom version. I honestly do not care what version it would be, although nterchangeable portrait of Hayden and Shaw would be nice. But please, considering the emand that you would get for this, not to mention those ebay sellers that would want to scoop all figures and sell it triple the value, please make sure to make a lot of this so no SW fan would be left out.

Come on people, seriously . . . the differences between PT and OT Vader are extremely minimal at most. A tri-sectional removable helmet, and accessorization to allow the figure’s arms to be folded across the chest like the Medicom PT version would be welcome. Removal of the boot(s) and gauntlet(s) or replacement of the limbs to show their mechanical infrastructure (as with the Anakin Skywalker 12″) would be a cool additional feature.

After reading some of the comments, I do now see a hint of the real Vader behind Sith Apprentice Anakin. I still don’t think he looks tall enough to be true to the 1/6 scale of the other Sideshow Star Wars figures, but he will look perfect with the Medicom Stromtrooper and Boba Fett unlike the Medicom Vader. Thankfully Empire Luke was a bit on the short side. Size aside though, Medicom’s Vaders are absolutely perfect; the best ever 1/6 figures as far as accuracy of appearance. Have you been reading these comments, Sideshow? Original Trilogy or you’re blowing it with all of us.

Damn, astro666, I had to look up who the hell Sora Bulq was. How practically obscure of you to want that. Was there even a millisecond of film footage with him in it? He’s basically a Jabba’s Sciff Gaurd as a Jedi. Odd choice, but I have to admit he would actually make a good Jedi figure.

Don’t under estimate the power of the customer!!! So when will we see Boba, Jango and a real Chewbacca. With real wookie fur? There’s a challenge for you! Come on sideshow give us the goods we are all wanting to by. Clone troopers, storm troomers, shadow troopers Oh My. Lets depart from the 3rd generation characters like Ayala, the rebel troopers, and the characters of less matter for aq bit shall we.
Well it only took 3 years and counting…Now to see if it is going to be a buyable OT or a passable PT version? Something tells me it’s gonna be PT so I will hold my excitement for now.

The circle is truly complete. Creating a duel scene with Obi-Kenobi, Bespin Luke or Jedi Luke, interrogation scenes of either Princess Leia or Bespin Han Solo, or stand him next to Darth Sidious & Commander Praji, Darth Vader will certainly compliment any display of the Star Wars characters previously offered. A very good suggestion was made that he should be an Inclusive Edition for those who wish to obtain the exclusive item that goes along with the Dark Lord. There is no doubt that a lot of collectors will certainly want to purchase this item. He is the icon of Star Wars. The epitome of evil. I wonder what that extra item could be? How about 2 alternative head sculpts of Anakin Skywalker without the top portion of his helmet. That would pretty much cover both episode 3 (his youthful charred face before the mask was placed) & episode 6 (his older face after Luke removes the mask). This anticipated version of Darth Vader should come out as detailed and carefully crafted down to near perfection. I wonder if his suit will be constructed the same way as the one being used for the Clone Wars General Kenobi. In any case, I’ll certainly be one of the first to pre-order come 10am. You guys are clearly a great choice to carry on the flame from Hasbro for 1/6 scale figures. Way to go Sideshow. Keep them coming!!!

I would not be surprised if they did make this an inclusive offering. Vader is THE figure to have if you are a Star Wars fan, so I can’t imagine SS not making it an inclusive. Please make sure it is an original trilogy version. Thank you SS, I am sure that once we get to see the final product, it will have been worth the wait. Just please don’t make us wait so long between 12-inch figs. I would luv to see a new SW 1/6th SS fig show up on my doorstep once a month. Oh, and please make a Sora Bulq figure, thanks again.

I’m selling off all my Sideshow Star Wars figures, but this…. this I shall have and keep. I am hoping and praying that you don’t put an elitist price on it, Sideshow. Also, if this is going to be limited, prepare for the backlash. Vader’s armor is different in all 4 films he is in, so I don’t know what you folks have in store, but let it be from Episodes IV-VI please! Better start trying to save my credits now….
There are so many possibilities.E3 version with removable helmet fresh burns, Or interchangeable portrait. E6 with force lightning running through helmet. But E5 version for overall then give a possible interchangable portrait of each in the exclusive.
