Founder of San Diego Comic-Con dies at 76
Sideshow was saddened to hear about the passing of Comic-Con founder, Sheldon Dorf. Greg Anzalone, CEO of Sideshow Collectibles, says of Sheldon, “Sheldon Dorf was an inspired visionary. His concept of a convention to celebrate the comic arts, support artists of all stripes, and raise the profile of an often misunderstood medium, was the potent seed that has grown into an amazingly rewarding annual gathering. There are many who remain in his debt, myself and Sideshow included.” Read the full story through the following link. [Read More]

Thanks, Sheldon, for bringing us the wonderful San Diego Comic Con! You have created a venue for us collectors to satisfy our love of everything sci-fi and fantasy and I will be forever grateful to you! Rest in peace, Brother!
Respect.
Shel has been a great friend for the past 15 years. He was a collector of people. His greatest joy was people. He also shared his friends with other friends of similar interests. He will be missed very much.
We always wanted to attend Comic-Con but were never able. It will be bittersweet to have the opportunity now that the founder has past. His idea brought collectors joy each year and he will not be forgotten.
