Can’t wait for these figures and like the guy above I will get my PS3 when this game or Killzone 2 arrives. Maybe we’ll get some K2 figures SST?
Incorrect Neil, the game is still scheduled for the end of the year until Kojima Productions says otherwise.
Dunno John,just keep an eye on the newsletter i guess.I hear the game itself has been pushed back to May next year.I’m holding off getting a Playstation 3 until the game comes out actually.
Bought a Medicom “Tiger stripes” Snake recently and he s a lovely figure.

Anyway, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford this MGS4 Snake if he’s over $100, which he probably will be. I splurged on the Rocketeer, and I swore I’d not do that again.

Has everyone forgotten that they DID make a MGS1 12″ Snake? Along with a Meryl, Sniper Wolf, and Liquid Snake.
This looks great!!! medicom has achieved poseablility even with the octo camo!! And a little info everybody they made the raiden one too!!
You can’t keep an old snake down! Great vinyl body armour and the head sculp is great. I have seen pictures of MGS4 where Snake is wearing a all over face mask. I wonder if that is included. How about doing a classic MGS 1 Snake or a
Sons of Liberty version?
Some people care about edition sizes, some don’t. Medicom has been known to “re-release” figures, like the Rocketeer, for example, and some Japanese companies release different versions of a particular character, but that’s not unique to Japanese companies. And I’ve never heard of that happening with ANY Metal Gear figures before, so to some collectors the edition size does make a difference. Especially if it was a low number and the secondary market cost of the figure skyrockets because they’re hard to find, and then you decide you want one. To my knowledge, Raiden has never been made before, not in this scale and with this degree of quality. It’s kind of strange that the figures have been announced already, even before the game is out, though. Konami has usually kept a pretty tight lid on things before the release of a Metal Gear title in the past…they like to surprise you.
Who cares about the eidtion size, it’s not the first day that Japanese keep re-releasing their so called limited edition stuff…
Back to the figure, it looks perfect, a must have for me, same to Riden.

I’m sure you’re right about the edition size, they probably weren’t over 1000 pcs. I can’t remember exactly, but they may even have been individually numbered. Do you have the Croc Snake, by the way? I sent mine back to the states for storage, otherwise I’d check it. Anyway, I’m looking forward to getting each figure from the new game as soon as Sideshow puts them up for preorder, what about you?

To my knowledge, only 500-1000 Croc Snakes were made so they are technically limited to a degree.

Yes, I’m currently in Japan. I hardly believed it myself, but not long ago I saw the Snake/Croc camo version in couple of different shops. They’re probably gone by now. I managed to grab one last Spring when they first came out and were still fairly plentiful. (Over here if you snooze, you lose, as a general rule). Unfortunately, that was before Sideshow was selling Medicom products, or they might have offered them too.

I thought that’s what you meant. I just wanted to point out that the Snake/Croc camo version was generally available. It was a ‘licensed limited edition’, and WAS a kind of ‘promo’ item for the game, but it wasn’t strictly limited like the ‘Zombie’ camo version was. Thanks for pointing out that the ‘Zombie’ version was exclusive to the Winter Toy Festival, I’d forgotten that. If I’d been able to go, maybe I’d have been able to get one ‘cheap’, ’cause they’re going for a lot more now on the secondary market here. I’m just glad that Sideshow is offering these now, and at better prices than I’d be paying over here!

I meant promo as in using them to promote the game in a way, not to be given out freely, and yes, I know the ‘Zombie’ camo was an exclusive to the Winter Toy Festival.
I’m rather suprised to see Croc Snake figures floating around too, considering the limited stock of the piece.
Has anyone seen the Medicom figure of Raiden from TF07?
I always thought about getting the “croc” Snake and I am surprised to hear that it is still available in Japan. Thats where you are located, right Mudshark?

You mentioned two other figures in this line. One of them is Raiden if I’m not mistaken… so what is the third one? Any chance you could let us know?

Not sure were you got your intel, but there was a Snake fig from MGS 3: Snake Eater available with the ‘Crocodile mask’ and ‘Snake’ camo suit in Japan last year. That one was NOT a promo and was available in a lot of collectible shops. The ‘Skull mask’ version WAS a con exclusive and I missed out on that one, unfortunately. The Crock mask version can still be found here in Japan, but probably not much longer. This new announcement of the MGS 4 figures is the first I’ve heard of any new releases by Medicom. If you’ve got any more info on them, please let us know. And thanks!
i hope they will include a younger looking head. the old look is just not working for me. looks like snake is all washed out. looking more like a old geeze >

Hell yeah! I’m with Mark Kinsella for making Grey Fox, the ‘Cyber Ninja’ from MGS 1 fame, as well as Solid Snake and any other characters from earlier games. Now that the floodgates (of 1:6 figures) are open, we may actually see some of these great figures being made in the not too distant future. It sure gives us a lot to look forward to! I will definitely be adding this new version of Snake in his ’sneaking suit’ to my MGS collection!
Will we ever get to see a finished piece?

I doubt it, the RAH MGS3 Snakes were for MGS3 promotion, I doubt Konami and Medicom would re-release them.
I hope to God this mean we might get a chance at some imported rereleases of the RAH MGS3 Snakes.
Did this figure get lost in all the pre-order frenzy that was Comic-Con? Is it still going to be offered?

Looks cool, hope they bring out Grey Fox(Ninja). He was the best of the lot(after snake). Come on guys give us Grey Fox!!!!
