Looks pretty good! Now all we need is a Staff of Ra Headpiece, Holy Grail and Crystal Skull replica! Mainly the last 2, though.
It’s 1/4 scale. That’s what they announced previously (way back when the Idol was announced. I think it was over a year ago.) Can’t wait! I think it’s looking great! And I’m really hoping for/looking forward to a Staff of Ra Headpiece! And a Grail!
Well if it’s a 1:1 then I hope it can be used as a winefridge or Blu-Ray rack… perfect for the 10 Commandements and some other biblical movies. Easy to sell to me but without any practical use would be hard to sell to my wife

1:1 ark of covenant is very possible to make as a snap together prop replica (Ikea princip) the box would be smaller than the Predailien bust for sure
1:4 thats fine to go whit the PF but a true prop replica is 1:1…

I cannot see them doing 1:4 without a figure. If it is 1:1, then “The Ark of the Covenant was an ark or chest of shittim (acacia) wood two and one-half cubits long, and one and one-half cubits high (5 feet by 3 by 3) overlaid with gold, and embellished with a crown of gold extending around the chest upon the top edge. Four rings of pure gold were set in the four corners, two on one side and two on the other, through which were passed the wooden staves overlaid with gold used in carrying the sacred chest.” (Exodus 25: 10; 37: 1-10). Nice but tooo heavy and bulky to ship. I think 1:2 is more doable.
It’s a beautiful piece but I agree with everyone here that it should be shinier than what we’re seeing in this picture and should definitely be shinier than the 1:6 version from Sideshow. Can’t wait to see more pictures!
While I don’t mind the Sideshow 1/6th Ark (it isn’t neary as bad as people say) I do hope this one is shinier than that one. If the other company can make a shiny ark in 1/6 than Sideshow should be able to make an even better one in 1/4.

It may or may not be shinier than the one that comes with Toht, but it does not look shiny enough to be vac-metallized like the one from that “other source.” This doesn’t look as shiny as the one in the movie either. The movie one looks “almost” vac-metallized but it certainly could have just been enhanced with lighting or other effects. This doesn’t look as shiny as Sideshow’s idol prop replica either.
This would be great as a 1:1 scale, although it looks small in the picture. PF 1:4 format maybe?

BTW, Short Round, you can get “chromed” effect spray paint in various colors, including gold, right at WalMart, etc.
With some careful masking, or using a brush on version from Home Depot, you can make your Toht Ark nice and shiny gold.
I think a lot of folks just opted for the already shiny mail-away version in 1:6 from a different resource.
Magnifica replica, aunque como muchos de los compañeros de aquí (en su mayoria no Españoles) se agradecería a Sideshow que hiciera una producción a escla 1:1. Sabemos que el coste es elevado, pero si no se exagera mucho, merecerá la pena ahorra unos cuantos Dolares/Euros más y comprarla a escala real.

Oh god in heaven PLEASE let this be TRUE! Although, I have a feeling they mean it to be 1:4 PF scale, they say “Prop Replica” and not “Premium Format”!!!!!!!! PLEASE SSC!! Make this 1:1 AND 1:4….Or I’ll MELT YOUR FACES OFF!!!!
