Throughout galactic history, vast armies have been the tools of the powerful, wielded in the service of domination and control. During the Clone Wars, the forces of the various factions of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, united by disaffected Jedi Count Dooku, were combined to form a huge army of droid combatants, the largest military force in the galaxy. All the major alien business conglomerates, including the Trade Federation, Commerce Guilds, Techno Union, Intergalactic Banking Clan and Corporate Alliance combined assets to create this vast mechanized force as a means to assert their independence from what they saw as an unfair Galactic Republic and gain, by force, that which could not be bought.

In answer, the Republic fielded a highly trained military. Fewer in number, but more effective, it was comprised of cloned human soldiers, all fiercely loyal and well equipped. Trained to fight under the Jedi, the clone troopers, in their distinctive white body armor, became a symbol of Republic resolve. Their victories were celebrated by the civilian public, but such a deadly force could easily be used for as much harm as good.
Instrumental in the swift ascendance of the Empire, the clone army became the enforcers of Imperial law and the fist of the new Emperor Palpatine, policing and subjugating those that saw them as protectors only months earlier. They were the Imperial Army, whose ranks were comprised not only of Stormtroopers, but other personnel who embraced the New Order. Peace was assured, through the application of superior and overwhelming might. Few dared stand against the white, plasteel-plated troops of the Empire.
Yet there were some who fought back. Initially an underground movement of loose affiliation, the Rebel Alliance grew to become the Empire's chief adversary during the Galactic Civil War. A diverse force of many races and persuasions, the Rebel military was organized and flexible, able to penetrate, strike targets and then melt away at the first sign of an Imperial cruiser. In contrast to the Empire's vast legions of identical soldiers, the Rebellion fielded small units of specialized and varied troops, using guerrilla tactics and unconventional methods to gradually chip away the impenetrable walls of power that protected the tyrannical Emperor.
After Palpatine's fall at Endor, this band of armed fighters swelled and became the New Republic Defense Force, a peace-keeping military that held to the ideals of personal freedom and security. For the first time in centuries, the people of the galaxy had a military that served rather than enslaved them.

Emporer Palpatine said he woudl create a grand Army of the Republic but Sideshow has yet to bring that creation to life so far. All we have in this line are Rebel forces, we need to get some Clones attacking. There are many versions you can focus on that will bring more interest to this line in particular: Episode 2, Episode 3, Expanded Universe. There are no 12′ Expanded Universe characters availabel, yet this is where most of the interest current is when looking at potential market share. A veritable untapped market ready to be taken. If you build it they will come.
Send in the Clones!!!!
The Medicom are out of scale and overpriced. Marmits are hard to find now. I know many of us want to see many variations of the Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers. Give us the Commanders like Cody, Gree, Bacara. Give us desert stormtroopers. Give us the basic clone troops and stormtroopers as inclusives to order to our heart’s content. Many of us want more than one. Perhaps even have slide water decals so that we can take a blank white clone trooper and make him into a 501st, a Shock Trooper, or one of the legion troops of our choosing.
Just make the various commanders exclusive. Give us parts to customize. Thanks.

I want to see Republic Commandos with the DC-17, other than the hasbro figures there is a $300 statue at the online star wars shop. I think they have the coolest look amongst all the clone troopers. I also would like to see the ARC Troops with all the different guns.
Also…really hope u guys could do all the different types of clones from Episode II & Episode III & dont forget the Commanders…all of them…movie & comic…

Have received Nik Sant Pathfinder and the Commando infantryman – outstanding and millenia work. Big big congratulations to the Sideshow artists. The Rebel Strike Team Commandos have always been my favourites (I like that lavish green camo and the futuresque and retro-style design of the helmet) and when I read this to be the start of a new product line last year in September, days were counted down. Now I have’em… I can hardly take them out of these beautifull boxes… Thanks to the Team of Sideshow. Hope to see a Hoth trooper soon (okey, I see, some hard-head Stormtroopers or clone fighters should not be missing)… may the force be with you… always. Marc

I’d love a hyper-detailed Clone Trooper from AOTC. Even better would be an ARC Clone Trooper Captain! A couple from the mainstream stuff is great, but some of the other elements would keep the line fresh. Getting the characters in great, dynamic action poses would really sell the line, too! Some of the current characters look too flat and boring. Star Wars is about the action!! Lets’ get these guys in the heat of battle!!!

I think it would be awesome if they made some random pilot figures, like an A-Wing Pilot, B-Wing, Y-Wing, and just about every other pilot you see for about 5 seconds. Maybe some updated Luke, Biggs, and Wedge pilots! I’d easily drain all my money into those monkeys if they made them.
Make all the exclusive clones! How about a Scorch and his buddies. Come on, let’s get this party started or I’m not comin up (with cash that is). Color, Detail, Weapons, and Armor. Let’s make an army!
Hey Sideshow I love the idea of the Grand Army. The Rebel troops were “OK” ,but the thing that I and probably a lot of other people would like is if you at least make ARC Trooper and Republic Commandos(all if posible)pease and thank you. (p.s.medicom brake to easily and cost $150 for a storm or clone trooper,stick with marvel medicom.)

A contest to put a winner’s head on a future Sideshow figure seems like a great idea until you think about it for a minute. Why would the rest of their customers want to spend $60 on a doll of some other fan?
Well this post is about a week old, but its fun reading all the excitment from all the fans. I also see alot of great ideas from people I agree with. Just one thing I wanted to point out regarding SS offering Medicom figures, that somehow that equates SS won’t offer the same figures Medicom produces. Well if you remember Medicom started with the Luke Skywalker “Jedi” version and what did SS start thier Star Wars line with…Luke “Jedi”! Just because Medicom offers Clonetroopers or Stormtroopers doesn’t mean that SS won’t do thier own version. I have it on pretty good authority that the employees of SS are big fans of Medicom figures. I guess when you play in the “Big Leagues” its hard not to admire each other companys work.

I do not believe that Sideshow would ever offer to their customers a custom figure with their likeness and besides it would almost certainly cost $3,000 or $4,000. What I do see as a possibility would be a contest and the winner gets his/her likeness on a figure. Hint, Hint Sideshow!
Great to see them put out army builders. The choice to start the line with Endor rebel bums? Not so smart. It looks like Hasbro has provided their direction!
To heck with army building. Why not make a Cody (even if the exclusive has the Sidious hologram and/or Obi Wan lightsaber). Why not an ARC Trooper? What about the Clone Medic?
Sideshow has done a great job coming out with great choices. The Endor rebels just seems so weak!

I’ll probably get one of the Endor Rebel Troopers (my aversion to Ewoks keeps me from getting too excited about anything “Endor”), but I’d definitely get 3 different Hoth Rebel Troopers if you made them!!!!
I would agree with my fellow subscibers that it is time for a Rebel Blockade Runner trooper and a Bespin Guard. Does a 12″ Lobot fit in here somewhere? I would also like to see a Commander Cody or Bacara and a Vader’s guard or Airborn clone. It’s also been a while since a Death Star Gunner was made and a General Veers would also be great choices. Later, it would be nice to revisit Jabba’s Palace for a 12″ Amanaman and the Jedi for a Luminara. Awesome!!! Does one of the Endor troopers look like Larry the cable guy? And how about an At-ST Driver that doesn’t look like Johny Carson? A Cliff Clavens Hoth commander would be ok, though. SS, keep up the good work.

Thanks Sideshow for the Endor soldiers, my wallet can cool down. I’ll pass on them. I’ll save-up for troopers. Please we need a better Yoda. Sideshow you could’ve made a two-in-one Yoda figure for us, using the same body with detachable heads of the ESB and ROTS versions. I’m very disappointed the way things are going and I would think that with the Star Wars 30th anniversary nearing, that SS would do more with the main characters. A lot of main characters are still missing from the 1/6 scale lines. Sideshow you are still the best, and so prove it to us fans in 07.

While i thought the idea of Endor Rebel Soldiers kicking off the 12″ Millitaries of Star Wars line lame, there is something for everyone in Star Wars and Sideshow does love millitary, so now they have 3 guys they wanted. Now give us 3 guys we want. May as well start with the original trilogy and the 1st movie therein. Give us in order of appearance, Darth Vader, Rebel Fleet Troopers, Stormtroopers and go from there. I know we will get Clone Troopers eventually but why tease us so by offering those made by Medicom who makes figs in a scale not true to that of 1/6 and is overpriced and far too limited? Bring on the Clones and get more females in there. I’d even take Bultar Swan and I simply must have an Aayla Secura

AND several figures from E3 as far as the Clone troopers that were seen on The Wookie planet, then I think you will have a banner year plus. But PLEASE don’t decide to make 500 only or 300 only limited runs on these. Go full out and maximize your efforts. Plus maybe you can update the hand/wrist joint used in your figures, to be more like that from say BBI or Dragon [rather than the type used on POTA Charleton Heston figure].
The rebellion will NOT last. Long live the empire!!!

My guess is that they did Rebel Troops first because it was simply a matter of making the uniforms and accessories for bodies and head sculpts they already had – which made them cheaper and quicker to make and get this line announced sooner.
Now this is the line I have been looking forward to. You can keep your boring Jedi. I want Imps!

The Endor Rebel Troops look great. Not sure if I would buy all three since they are so similar and space is always an issue but will most assuredly buy one. Looking forward to what’s coming down the pike in this line. Way to go Sideshow!!!
Just found those photos of the upcoming Rebel troopers and they look pretty good. I’m curious if there will be exclusive/inclusive versions of these guys as well. Maybe they’ll come with thermal charges?

Well I’m stoked about seeing SS versions of Stormtroopers and Snowtroopers and Scout Troopers and Death Troopers and Gunnary Troopers and Clonetroopers and Imperial Officers and Imperial Admirals and Tarkins and Royal Guards and on and on and on. But I’m with the others who want some Rebels to fight with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Endor Soldiers are going to be awsome!!! I want BACKPACKS and BANDOLIERS and RIFLES and GRENADES and THERMAL CHARGES and stuff!!!!
I can’t believe people are wishing for Sandtroopers and Stormies or even 501st Clones! There are already excellent 12″ figures of these from Koto and others. But we are still waiting for a 12″ Cody and Gree. Two clones who actually have lines in the movies! These two have got to be top of any Militaries of Star Wars list.

Just give the Rebel Troopers individual names based on their appearance in the movie(s). I recognised Nik Sant as one of the Commandoes, but who are the other two?
Sandtroopers! With a full arsenal: mg34, mg15, lewis and the sterling… might as well throw in a Dewback prod stick. Don’t forget to include black, white and orange pauldrons!
Maybe we can get a Chancellor Palpatine soon through this line. Am really looking forward to the clone and storm troopers, but thankfully can skip the Endor troopers – I’m kind of pleased as I’ve been hoping for some figures I could justify not buying!

WOW! I think not. I’m losing interest with Sideshow fast. Still no sign of Darth Vader, Leia (Rebel Heroes Line), R2-D2, C-3PO or Yoda in the near future. OK, SS is offering a Yoda figure from Medicom Toys and what a piece of junk. Not a good likeness of Yoda. I’ll wait for Sideshow to make a better Yoda figure. The best likeness of Yoda that I’ve seen was the Kenner’s 1998 Action Collection and this Yoda doesn’t have the ridiculous looking painted on gray hair. Sideshow you’re jumping around too much. Start a line and finish it already.
I would love to see Admiral Piet and General Veers from The Empire Strikes Back. As far as i know no-one has attempted any such 12 inch figure.

I saw a preview of the Endor soldiers on a collector website. They look great. There looks to be three different sculpts. Great for building a GRAND ARMY!
Since SS is selling the Medicom Clonetrooper does that mean they won’t be doing one?

Well for completists this is a great idea, and the sneak preview in the new insider shows you once again paid attention to detail. I really think the first troops will be a let down for the clone lovers though. I think a few entries above me already knows whats coming. Anyway I have to give a pass on these…too rich for my blood and space available. If only I had a bigger house. The troop builder figures should be discounted maybe? I hope you also break them up so if a person wants say a 501st (someday) then they do not have to order others.
Anyway go SSC and keep em coming…especially those dreaded Jedi (wouldn’t people complain if they didn’t have so many Jedi yet?).

Temper your excitement boys and girls, the first offerings of this line have been released through the Star Wars Insider and we get 3 background Endor Soldiers. As Anakin would say, Yipeeeeeeeeee! Honestly guys, you may want to rethink this one, I have been 100% dedicated to this line but this is just LAME. Any trooper outside of Bespin Guards would have been more interesting than these guys. FINALLY! My dreams are reaching reality! Disregard the nay-sayers, Sideshow! The Endor Rebel Troopers look AWESOME! I cannot wait for more military troops! You HAVE to make sure that when the helmeted troopers like the Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers come out that they are INCLUSIVES and not too limited in numbers and they need to be sold at a considerably lower price. I will want as many as 25 of each (but not of the individually sculpted troops like the Endor Rebel Commandos, just one each of them) if that ends up to be possible (which I am in doubt of). And that will take a long time so I need them to be available for like 6 months. That means you need to make a gaggle available! Get on that! I MAY even forgive you all for screwing me on my Jedi Luke when you took the cowardly way out and refused to exchange him because it was beyond 30 days. That forgiveness is not real likely…but ample numbers of Troopers at reduced prices may at least take my mind off of the bitterness for a little while.

Hopefully when Clone and Storm Troopers are released, we’ll be able to buy more than one of each.
Endor Soldiers look good…Can we get a Trenchcoat and a change of clothes for Han? And a poncho and helmet for Luke?
I actually wanted 3 Endor Rebel Troopers for a long time. I always admired how the “GI Joe Guys” got to make gritty Vietnam battle dioramas with their 12″ and all their gear. So I bought quite a few of Hasbro’s Imperials (Officer, Death Star Troopers, AT-ST Driver, I think that was it) and I’m fine with those. I wanted some Rebels for them to fight. If I did the scene without Stormtroopers in their bright whites, and sort of muddied my troops up, I could have my own little Vietnam, “Endor-style.” In the future, I might also be down for some Hoth Rebels and Fleet Troopers.

I saw the leaked picture of the three different Endor Soldiers, and while they look fantastic, $180 before shipping is too steep for any army-building thoughts I might have had. It is good that they will be coming 1 per month starting in 2007, so unless Sideshow creates another cluster of figures shipping all at once, I might be game. If Sideshow releases other figures, especially core characters, at the same time, I will have to pass on the troopers. Here’s to hoping they give our wallets a break!
Outside of Lords of The Sith Line – I’d have to say ….this is the one I’ve been waiting for . The only thing I really wanna know is _ Are the sets sold in packs of 3 at 59.99 A POECE- COMING TO 180.00 Plus S& H – or – Do theye sell them seperately ??? See I would Invest in say a 3 PACK OF The 501′S Blue LEGION CLONE Troopers . Even 3 Red shock Troppers and Lastely 3 AT. RT Drivers . But I guess it would be the beast just to have 3 Solid White Super articulated Classic Stormtroopers . So Does anybody know the answer ??? Seperately ……??? I MEAN It would be nice to have the option . Its gonna be a hot line , I can Tell .

I just hope it’s not some OVERPRICED Rebel Endor Troopers or something. After releasing so many Jedi that they have become boring and mundane, I bet your gonna suprise us with a fan favorite. How about a Snowtrooper!!!! They dont have too much armor, so they should be easy to produce.
Let’s put a ceiling on those prices tigers. Your true fans and completist are getting very concerned.

The three Rebel Commandos look good but I don’t understand why you don’t give us one of each Rebel Soldier from the Trilogy: Rebel Blockade Runner Trooper, Hoth Rebel Soldier and Endor Rebel Commando. I’d buy all three of those.
