Sideshow Collectibles to collaborate with Adam Hughes

Adam Hughes

November 2006 - During the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2006, Sideshow Collectibles proudly announced a new relationship with artist Adam Hughes, well known for his buxom femme fatales and super-heroines. Adam has worked with just about every comic book publisher during his illustrious career, and has created countless covers and pinups. Adam's alluring interpretations have earned him quite a few fans, and the team at Sideshow is proud to be counted among them.

The Marvel Comiquette line is about to get a boost of femininity, thanks to Adam Hughes and his amazing talent. Together, Adam Hughes and Sideshow's Creative Director, Tom Gilliland, have selected several Marvel gals to receive the 'AH!' treatment. Adam is currently working on concepts and designs, and the first sculptures have begun.

We're pleased to offer you a peek at the concept sketch for the first Adam Hughes Marvel Comiquette. We invite you to take your best guess at which character it is, and we promise that you won't have to wait much longer to find out if you're correct! The official preview of our first AH! designed Marvel Comiquette will be posted on SideshowCollectibles.com very soon - stay tuned to our weekly newsletters in November to be the first to catch a glimpse of this white-hot Marvel heroine! When asked for a comment about the current progress on the Comiquettes that he has helped bring to life, good ol' AH! said, 'After working in 2-D for 20 years, it's a fantastic thrill to see my stuff in three dimensions - wow, do I really draw them THAT big?' Well, Adam, the world is about to find out!

AH is a legend! Since he’s doing Mervel babes, I hope and pray that he puts Spider Woman in there!! The one from New Avengers! That would be the best figure ever!

  2. bcwflash says:

I want a Dazzler full size statue.Retro outfit-YES! Blue Jump suit-sure. current military type with pink short hair-Ok. One of each? count me in!
Black Cat would be coo as well.

  3. gw says:

I agree, Black Cat would be awesome. Yes this one is Emma and it looks great (after seeing the pre-order page).

If it’s AH, think of the buxom women *LOL*

Jean Grey is overexposed so is Rogue, I’d like to see Phoenix aka Rachel Summers maybe in the hound uniform. Or Shadowcat with Lockheed.

Since we’re talking about Marvel women.

Storm would be an amazing statue too, maybe even Storm in the wedding gown she had when she married Black Panther that was an amazing piece of art.

Storm, yeah there’s so many great designs and costumes there.

There will probably be a MJ, Invisible Woman maybe?
    How about a Silver Sable?
Sure there are plenty of great X-women to choose from but most are so overexposed. I’d like to see some of the villains too.

    Spiral would be great.

Or maybe even a retro Dazzler rollerskates and all. *L*

Some of the X women you don’t see a lot of.

If I ask nicely can we see some of them?

Please? Great work on the Emma!!!
    Keep it up.

  4. T. Pinney says:

I’ll commit to the entire line right now! Bring it on!

  5. tommy says:

Jean grey is Phoenix! Bring on Jean grey.

  6. DSET says:

I hope he does a statue of his amazing Black Cat after this one
    or a psylocke

    NO JEAN GREY\ maybe pheonix

  7. John says:

    black cat!!!

  8. Cory Yara says:

It has to be Emma Frost…It looks like the figure will be quite Chilling…..

  9. k says:

I AM SURE THAT THE EMMA FROST WILL BE GREAT–BUT A BLACK CAT PREMIUM FIGURE HAS MORE POTENTIAL

  10. Darth Kirk says:

Bring on the Astonishing X-Men’s Emma Frost!! I wonder…what will the Exclusive be? Emma in her secondary mutation diamond form? :D

  11. The Collector says:

Must respectfully disagree with DarthCruel … bring on the G-string!!!

  12. Alex Lopez says:

emma frost .i want to pre order now!

  13. I-Bot says:

    LARA, I want LARA!! :P

  14. DarthCruel says:

I’m betting she is Emma Frost, The White Queen. And although I have never been a fan of non-articulated figures…the obvious details that make AH’s art so popular may make me change my mind as long as they are done tastefully. For example…I would not be interested in the g-string costume Emma wears from time-to-time. Rather…I would prefer one of the long, white, low-cut, form-fitting dresses she is seen with on a rare occasion.

  15. phanatix says:

    Emma!
I actually was hoping for Pheonix or Storm.

  16. tommy says:

UGH. Emma Frost. Like she isn’t overexposed enough already.

  17. paysismom says:

woohoo!!! Sideshow + Adam Hughes = AWESOME!

  18. jackal726 says:

Looks like my wallet will be dealing with that ‘empty’ feeling for a while longer. Can’t wait to see this.

  19. bruno says:

    white queen!

  20. Xero says:

    Bring on Miss Frost!

  21. HOS says:

    Rogue

  22. rjd4short says:

OH MY! (breath and words have left me speachl…)

  23. astro666 says:

Of all the Marvel women, Emma is by far the best to show off AH’s work in 3D.

  24. casey says:

    O yea EMMA!!!
