  4. dollface says:

    1. Passing on this one
    2. Would prefer SS version- detail and pricing preferable
    3. Anonymous: About your comment that Boba is a punk…don’t start no stuff and there’ll be no stuff.
Surprised that the SS collective Force didn’t rip you apart with that one, Hee, Hee.

  5. Cody Johnson says:

Cool, but Medicome is overpriced and not as good of quality as SSC. Sideshow rules for price and quality. The readers have spoken. SSC;Give us Darth, Boba and X-Men please; what the hell R2-D2 & C3-Po too!! Why we are there, how ’bout the movie version Batman, Robin and the gang? Be there for us and I know we will be there for you! Keep up the good work Sideshow!!!

  10. Josh says:

Doesn’t it occur to anyone else that the reason Sideshow may be importing these characters is BECAUSE they won’t be producing them? Have we seen any figures from SS with armour or complicated plastic outifts. Medicom specifically produces high end pieces and their price margin reflects that as well as their limited production run (1000-2000 instead of 2000-5000).
I think it’s pretty clear that producing a 1/6 scale figure with consistant detail for a figure like Darth Vader is unrealistic for the $50-$60 retail range. Sideshow has offered these complex figures like Vader, Fett and Grievous in Premium Format because they can be detailed constistantly with the rest of the product line and it is reasonable for a $250+ price range.
If the figures in Premium format are 30% larger than the 1/6 scale, then an assumed price for a figure of that detail to be in the range of $175.
Sideshow is doing us a huge favor by importing these. I think it’s safe to say this is what Sideshow is offering for a 1/6 Boba Fett.
RAH Vader was awesome, this one will surely impress. Count me in!

  11. Jason says:

I will pass on this. I think that even SS will have a hard time beating the Marmit Fett I bought in 2001.

  12. Tony_something says:

how much will this thing cost???

  13. Rob says:

Awesome figure. It is definitely in my collection!!!

  14. Mark says:

Why all the controversy! Sideshow is not force feeding Medicom to anyone. Why be dissapointed? Not offering Medicom product is not going to make SSC produce SW figures more quickly. I collect Sideshow product and Medicom. I buy what I like..when I can afford it :) The fact that I can get Medicom from SSC will bring me to here even more.

  15. FettFan79 says:

He looks awesome!! It’d be nice to take him home ;)

  16. William says:

Hey Lebron, that’s not exactly true. SS made Jedi Luke and so did Medicom. SS’s tured out to be a damn sight better and looked more authentic to Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker than Medicom’s Street Fighter Ryu version. SS’s figures are also a better quality. I own the Medicom vader and have a hard time keeping the hands from falling off as they just “slide” on. So while I will likely pick this one up, I’ll also be looking forward to an SS version… perhaps with a removable helmet, jetpack rocket and forearm toecable? After all, we already know that Boba would look just the same as Jango (as he’s a clone) at the time of the second trilogy.

  17. Tom Pinney says:

Sorry, going to have to take a pass on this guy! When the heck will my 1/4 scale be in? Give me some killer clones.

  18. Batman says:

    Pass.
Oh sure, Medicom figures are nice. (Thanks to my boss, I have an awesome Vader from medicom). But, I’ve got the SS stuff going, and I have the PFF Boba on the way. So, I’ll wait for a SS one. If not, well, at least i have the PFF.

My theory: SS wont come out with a Boba 1:6 for a while, first, because they want to make some money off this one, and 2nd, it’d be too soon after this one.

Oh, and as far as pricing goes, I suspect $150, maybe $160 just like the Trooper.

  19. Mark says:

Rather than competing with an overseas company, Sideshow has become an official American distributer of Medicom’s product. I think this is great for those that want Medicom’s product can easily find a trusted source to get it. I know alot of you have issues with scale and SSC not currently making their own versions of armored characters. Let me say this…Medicom’s RAH Darth Vader is THE most beautiful Vader figure I’ve ever seen. It’s worth having (whatever the scale). I find with many of my purchases that after a month (or so) the “new, Oh WOW” facter can wear off…but it never has with my Medicom purchases. I read something a while ago about Sideshow saying something like ” we will not be repeating ourselves with figures. There will not be a General Grevious 12″ figure because of the Premium Format version and it’s complexity”…it went something like that. I think it was in the production blog way back when. My Guess…? You’ll see the armored figures as PF eventually..but not in 1/6 scale. Will see. Hopefully for most of you time will prove me wrong.

  20. a Leia wannabe says:

Sideshow has just killed my interest in this line. I want recognizable characters from the original trilogy not nobodies. And over-priced, off-scale Medicom figures don’t cut it.

  21. xlsim says:

    Hi !! =)

Wow!!!! nice, i’m looking forward to this boba fett rah figure. Its good for my collection… Sign me up, I’ll be standing by on the 25th!!

  22. Dosei Ventress says:

It’s about time we get another Boba Fett figure- it’s been at least 3 days.

  23. Emperor’s Advocate says:

Ye of little Faith. SS did the PF Versions of Fett and Vader, and they kicked ass! You Know they can do it in sixth scale and they will. If not to satisfy the fans but to prove to companys like Medicom that it is possible to put out excellent quality figures at a great price, and not those overly priced shrinky dink scale figures that Medicom makes. GO GET’EM SIDESHOW!!!!!!

  24. carlos says:

I’will pass on this one.Thank, but, not thank. What SS is doing with its customers is not fair.We have been loyar to them and them crew us avery singler time. Now we have to pay over $150.00 for a 12″s.w action figure.(does it come with a ticket for the Super Bowl or something?).Come SS give us a break and keet doing and selling us your own figuresfor a afforabler price.

  25. Cocoboloboy says:

So SSC, what’s the price gonna be? $169 or maybe $189 like some other distributors? This will be a cool figure but a man’s got his breaking point ya know! Oh, what am I saying. It’s Boba. Of course I’ll put a second morgage on the house for this one.

  26. John says:

so this Fett is going to be 10″ tall? That would really suck that he’d be out of scale with the rest of the kenner/ hasbro / SSC figures. That was an issue to me with the Harry Potter line (go after the license sideshow you guys would do awesome on Harry). The figures were all in 6″ scale till the third movie and then boom 8″ scale.that really sucked big time. Also making harry after harry after harry and ignoring other characters. You see what happened too the line.No figures for the 4th movie.Theres a lesson in there for toy companies everywhere. Keep the figure in scale and dont offer the same ones over and over and over.

PLease let us know exactly how tall he will be and also the price. I dont want to have to sell a kidney to get one.Not trying to sound bitter but if you notice your prices creep up with every release. Something not right about that. I can see a price increase every 6 months or so but not several dollars at a time and not every release. YOu still make $ just dont be greedy!

  27. arnold says:

More core characters from SIDESHOW and not Medicom please…

  28. Dorene says:

What a great figure, and a must for any Star Wars fan! Way to go SS!!! We want more…….!!

  29. lebron james says:

I think i see what is happenning.Sideshow is making BUBO and other weird ass aliens and NOT the main characters because they will not make boba and clones-MEDICOM already has!! They will make money by being the destributor of medicom versions. Lets face it-its gonna be hard to top medicom.

  30. arnold says:

If Hasbro can make a decent Fett, I know Sideshow can go above and beyond!!!

  31. arnold says:

SIdeshow RULES!!! But Please give us some SSC armored Star Wars Figures! Medicom is cool, but they are NOTICEABLY smaller than average. A Luke in FUll BEspin gear would really be nice as well. I just can’t get as excited about Medicom as I do about Sideshow. I am spoiled on your quality and attention to detail!!! Please give us collectors some news soon.

  32. Mick says:

SS, what are you doing? Why are you selling Medicom figures that compete with your own line for MORE money? I can see doing this for lines you aren’t going to produce yourselves (Aliens, etc.) but Star Wars?
We are loyal SS fans and want our SS Collectibles version of Boba, Darth, Stormtroopers, Clones, Yoda, etc.
Please stop importing these Medicom Star Wars figures and give us the superiour SSC version that we are all dreaming of!!!!!!

  33. Puay says:

Hi Cruiser, I am from Singapore…. I ordered mine from a local retailer, guess it might be a little far for you. Do hope you can get a reasonable price from SSC.

  34. HAPPYBOY says:

Absolutely awesome. Now that is something to get excited about. Thank you so much Sideshow, you are really delivering the goods now. This is a great addition and I can’t wait. I still wait to see what may be next from the Sideshow talent though, so any hints?

  35. Jason says:

Well, this throws a thorn in my side. I was really hoping for two ssc 12″ star wars characters; boba fett and darth vader in armor. now, with the fett RAH version, i don’t know what to expect. i would rather hold out for an official ssc version – but i gotta wonder if ssc would “double-dip” like many companies do with dvds these days. as cool as fett looks, i’d really want one that matches the size and quality of the other ssc 12″ versions. i agree with many others; i wish ssc would give us some sort of an announcment as to its plans with the 12″ line. i think i’ll hold out for now in better hopes.

  36. arnold says:

Yes Sideshow, please give us some informaion on possible armored Star Wars figures…like Sandtroopers, Bounty Hunters, (FETT)etc…I know a Sideshow 1/6 Fett would be far SUPERIOR to Medicom, and more importantly, they would be in SCALE to my other SIdeshow Star Wars figures…Maybe a Snowtrooper, (not much Armor there!)or a Biker Scout, (another one with hardly any armor). Myself and probably many others are having these same questions…Plus your Packaging is the BEST EVER!!!!
Oh yes, least I forget, a 1/6th Luke Skywalker in Full Bespin Fatigues, with Gunbelt and Blaster, and a droid power generator or bloody stump and distressed/ alternate expression head would extremely nice…!!!

  37. jedibear says:

While this Medicom figure looks pretty sharp and it’s nice SS is offering it, it really DOES beg the question if SS is going to offer any “armor”-type characters in the foreseeable future (within this year)…it just seems odd that we have a RAH ROTS clone on the way and now a RAH Fett…2 characters I was really looking forward to seeing Sideshow’s unique take on.
Any official word or comment Sideshow? Are armored SW characters on the way from your artists? Or are you just choosing to sell & distribute another company’s figures of these much-sought-after characters and not producing you own?
Many of us would like to know…the RAHs are expensive..I know Sideshow’s armored figures probably will be too (and if the quality is as superb as the other SW figures you’ve produced, that’s OK….just give us some sign that we’re not waiting in vain for Stormies, clones and Bounty Hunters from the Sideshow studios…

  38. Chris Beyond says:

I imagine offering something like this would affect the sales of an official SSC Fett which one then has to ponder if SSC plans to offer one at all. Certainly not in the near future. Still I’d rather hold out and get one that goes with the rest of my collection. I’ll just have to wait and wade through characters like random Rebel soldiers, imperial officers, and for the truely nerdy folks like me – Bespin Ice Cream Man.

  39. d33d says:

Awesome! I was so excited to see this until I realized I have no chance to get it :( Well I guess there is always a chance, one just can’t give up. So um, whats the price tag?

  40. Dan says:

Counting the days until the 26th!! FETT RULES!!!! Gotta put a bounty on this one!

  41. Six Million Dollar Man Guy says:

Yes, Boba Fett by Medicom! I can die in peace now. Well…except my delusional Ripley/Power Loader issues.

  42. Luke says:

    **** Isn’t FRIDAY JAN 26th??? ***

  43. Luke says:

    OMG!

  44. JLO says:

NOW THATS WHAT IM TAKING ABOUT!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH SIDESHOW.

  45. star wars sideshow says:

nice, i’m looking forward to this boba fett rah figure. now i just need to start saving $$$. thanks ssc

  46. Boba Fett says:

Ah! A new Boba to add to my shrine! This will compliment my Boba PF when he finally comes in.

  47. Trevor S says:

Just makes me anticipate Sideshow’s rendering of Fett MORE!

  48. darren douglas says:

Aw, I feel guilty now, the Medicom body is really good, really dynamic and the boots on the Jedi Luke are soft so they bend at the ankles allowing nice action poses.
But the buggers are way too short.
So, sideshow, can you rip-off the medicom body, make it bigger to put it in line with all the other 1/6 scale figures and take a leaf outta their book about softer boots, and then you can just have my bank details and ream me for all I have!

  49. darren douglas says:

Looks awesome, even better than the marmit version. But, as usual from medicom he’ll be too short for the sideshow collection so I’ll leave him be.
Can’t have short-butt Luke towering over him now can we?!
Now a sideshow Jango, hmmmmmm, he’d look pretty darn good.

  50. Cruiser says:

It’s about damn time! Hey, astro666 & Puay who’s your other source???

  51. Sharpy says:

So is it THURSDAY the 25th or FRIDAY the 26th. Which day/date combination is correct? Is it definately Friday the 26th?

    Looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet regardless :)

  52. tomandshell says:

I would rather be getting the official Sideshow “Scum and Villainy” Fett, but I guess this will have to keep me occupied until then.

  53. Puay says:

I have already ordered mine from a difference source. I do hope SSC will come up with their 12″ version of Boba.

  54. mudshark says:

This should make a bunch of people happy! I wonder what the exclusive version looks like. Will Medicom ever make any more X-Men figures to go with Wolverine? Only time will tell, but I wish Sideshow would consider starting a new 12″ X-Men line if nobody else does. How could they go wrong?

  55. Mike S says:

    Medicom??
Where’s the SSC 1:6 scale Boba Fett???

  56. jedi-bob says:

    That is soooo cool!
    Gotta have it!!!

  57. KitFisto92 says:

This looks great and I can’t wait to get it! But I’M POSITIVE the Sideshow one would look even better!

  58. Seretur says:

    Friday, January 25th, 2007?

Fortunately the message has the correct date. But look, people are already lining up! Chris, Chris… :p

  59. Lady Jaye says:

Jaw dropping gorgeous!! I can’t get into another line though. But maybe for Boba I can!! As long as he doesn’t have a removable mask!! LOL!!

  60. astro666 says:

I find it interesting that I pre-ordered this at another site a couple weeks ago and SSC won’t have it available until the 26th and I really doubt that SSC will be offering an exclusive version. What is up Sideshow?

  61. puswort says:

Wow!!!! Incredible!! Sign me up, I’ll be standing by on the 25th!!

  62. darthvice says:

    lOOKS AMAZING!

  63. P.H says:

    He is soooo mine.
