Sideshow Collectibles Announces New Line of Elvis Collectibles

Thousand Oaks, CA (January, 2007) - The legendary Elvis Presley will be authentically depicted in a 1:4 scale "Premium Format" sculpture by the artisans at Sideshow Collectibles of Thousand Oaks, California. Fans and collectors will have an astonishingly lifelike, mixed-media figure of The King of Rock n' Roll at the very top of his game.

Sideshow, the world's premier manufacturer of film and television-licensed collectible figures and prop replicas, has lifted the figure medium to new heights with its exclusive Premium Format product line. The hand-painted pigmentations, skin textures, and fabric collars and clothing on these pieces make them the most lifelike sculptures of their kind in the world. Like nearly all of Sideshow's product line, the Premium Format figure of Elvis Presley will be issued in a limited edition. Edition size and product cost will be determined at a later date.

    Been there, done that. Elvis has been done hundreds of times before! The Mattel “Aloha” Elvis is going to be hard to top as it’s a very classy figure. Why is a progressive company like Sideshow focusing on so many properties that have already been done countless times by other companies? Elvis, Star Wars, Spider-Man. C’mon guys. Let’s get some new and FRESH ideas and stop re-hashing old Mattel and Hasbro properties. Think outside the action figure box. How about Pan’s Labrynth, 1966 Batman, Beetlejuice, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, or Hammer horror figures??? Sideshow is even repeating themselves with a redress of the Sean Connery premium format figure and calling it a “Thunderball” figure. Geez guys. Give us a little credit.

If you want your sales to soar how about some female stars like Racquel Welch as Loanna in One Million Years B.C. or Ursula Andress, the Original Bond Girl, as Honey Rider. I’ve always wanted Sideshow to do a Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins from Dark Shadows. Dark Shadows has a large cult following you know. It too may sell well. Looking forward to Elvis.
