  1. Lady Jaye says:

This is addressed to all those that are complaining about this piece, simple fact is that you don’t have to buy it!! While I’m not buying it either, I’m glad Sideshow is giving fans the chance to really recreate scenes from a movie, by offereing more than just the top 3 characters over and over again!!

I’m a Jabba’s palace collector, and have been loving the background creatures, except the Expanded Universe stuff included with Bubo. Otherwise I would collect anything to do with Jabba, and love the fact that we haven’t gotten the same figures before. I will buy whatever piece or item that was from that scene, buy only from the movie, nothing Expanded Universe! I’d love a Carbonite Block, any denizen, any droid, etc!!

SIdeshow, keep up the good work, leave out the crappy Expanded Universe crap from the actual movie product, and continue with the background characters!! Now if you ever get to doing the Cantina, we better see the bar, the tables, and the droid detector!!! Oh and of course the patrons as well!!

  2. Puay says:

I am not letting this slips through my fingers.

  3. Ronald Smith says:

I’m going to sit this one out. I will be surprised if the pricepoint for this is under $75 bucks.

Good luck to those who plan on getting this tomorrow.

  4. Batman says:

    ANDRE:
I second that; but, with these minor changes:
SideShow and Attakus can play a softball game.
Winner (or SideShow) gets to make the cool major characters and figures, and Medicom can make the VCDs and expansion sets that i wont buy anyway. ROFLOL.
Since this doesnt play like real chess, and undoubtedly doesnt have enough pieces to make a complete set (hmm. sounds a lot like Marvel Chess pieces series 1, and unfinished) I’ll pass.

  5. Joelseph says:

Sideshow we love what you have given us!! I would love for this figure to be an Inclusive. What a great set!! Who would have ever guessed 5 years ago we’d ever see a 1/6 scale Jabba or a 1/6 scale Chess Set. HOLY COW!!

  6. DarthInwah says:

is it just me or is it way cool that Adam Hughes is on this thread?

  7. hfdhfd says:

Waste of money and waste of plastic, lets at least get an expansion pack that is useful……

  8. Steven S. says:

The next accessory pack is a pile of droid arms that have been pulled from their sockets to pile up next to the chess table.

  9. Darth Gothikus says:

Just read that post over at thejawa.com re- not making Chewie, 3PO or R2 this year or in the near future!
If that is the official SSC position then what’s the point of this set?
    Utter waste of time.
It’s the 30th aniversary of ANH – let’s get some 12″ figures out – SOON. I’m getting bored with this and might just spend my hard earned elsewhere. Also why so secretive? Let us know what your planning, prices and current status of in production goods.

  10. Kevin C says:

    GAME OVER!! Not interested.

  11. Jepoy says:

Maybe Sideshow is planning on making a Millennium Falcon environment. Perhaps a Jedi remote training scene with ANH Han, Obi-wan, and Luke (with blast shield helmet).

  12. rowie says:

    From thejawa.com:
“In regards to the expansion sets, many people wondered if the Dejarik Chess Table set would signal a Chewbacca, C-3PO, or R2-D2 figure. There are actually no plans to do any of those figures, certainly not this year and not in the near future.”

No Chewie,Threepio or R2……..So whats the point?

  13. barryo says:

okay everyone…..clap your hand in unison and yell like they did in the movie “Rudy”…….CHEWIE, CHEWIE, CHEWIE, CHEWIE…..come on coach (sideshow)….PUT CHEWIE IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!

  14. Lex says:

    ::drooooolssss::

  15. Stevejw says:

Lets just hope this means we’ll be seeing the droids and chewie soon, i still hope for a ANH/ROTJ Han, ANH Obi Wan and Vader in his “Iron Lung”…

  16. Jeremy S. in Rochester says:

YES! Expansion packs for Star Wars AND Lord of the Rings are appealing.
    .
I haven’t been collecting Star Wars for the most part, but this one has hooked me I think. How fun!
Although semi-translucent figures would have been perfect.
    .
What could a LotR Expansion Pack be? Lots o’ possibilities.

  17. buj says:

I just thought of something. Does this holochess set come with seating of any kind?

  18. Chris says:

    Hi Sideshow,

Another great idea – but I have one question. Why aren’t the creature playing pieces cast in a translucent material and painted with a (dilute) wash effect? This is supposed to be, um, a replica of a holographic game . . .

  19. patman says:

i tried staying away from the Star Wars SS line but this is really tempting. i always loved this portion of the movie!

  20. Kevin C says:

I believe that I spy the exclusive for the Dejarik Holochess Set, on this page? Look and I believe you too will find it. I think a nice exclusive for Chewbacca could be the handcuffs (arm restrains ) from ANH or the chain collar from ROTJ. I hope that Sideshow will make him of fur and if so, then I’m getting three of them , one exclusive and two regular edition and I will not care if he cost over one hundred dollars. One for Bespin Han, he needs his friend and one for Jabba’s prisoner. And if not made of fur then I’ll pass, because I have the plastic 12” toy version. Sideshow please give us Darth Vader (ESB) and Yoda. I hope during Toy Fair that we’ll be pleasantly surprised and that 2007 will be the best year for Star Wars collectors.

  21. bbotss says:

I can wait to see more details on this! If it looks as good as the preview here, it will be my firt SSC purchase.

  22. mudshark says:

Looking forward to checking out the exclusive version of this latest Star Wars expansion pack. And for the hundredth time, I also support the idea of expansion packs for the LOTR line!!! All fellow collectors who agree with that idea, please be sure continue to posting your thoughts and wishes as often as you can!

  23. buj says:

How long it will be until we have some characters to go along with this expansion set? Perhaps one “walking carpet” will be coming around our way sometime around Toy Fair?

  24. astro666 says:

Maybe I’m just a sucker but I think it would be cool to see a weequay guard & a gamorrean guard in the scum line to add to jabbas palace.

  25. Adam says:

    39.99….39.99…..39.99….39.99….39.99!!!!!!!

    O.k. I like this price!

I could see how this would be too much if it was made out of plastic, but if your going to make it out of metal, then my “hypothetical” Chewie, Threepio and Artoo that Sideshow MAY produce, won’t knock it over when they lean against it. And I’m sure you folks at Sideshow know what your doing, but tell me “couches” are in the big picture….if not now, down the road?

  26. jpsith26 says:

now that jabba is shipping to most homes, it will be great to see an Ephont Mon or perhaps Hermie Odle from Scum and Villainy and they can come with more knick knacks from the palace.

  27. jpsith26 says:

I sense a towering heap of brown fur approaching around Monday or Tuesday of next week. Call it a hunch!!

  28. Darth Fresno says:

Hey SSC I love what you guys do. You guys never cease to amaze. To all you critics out there, remember before sideshow what did we have to look forward to…..something from hasbro that looked like it was sculpted by a 5 year old or having to pay 200 for an import from Japan. I for one appreciate what they do in quality and craftsmanship. If seeing figs this good means a small wait in between so be it. Remeber no one is twisting your arm to buy or care for that matter. With all that being said I cant wait to get this….OH Yeah and by the Way SSC BRING ON DARTH VADER. its not cool having luke paired with Medicom vader who is the same size as him.

  29. astro666 says:

SS, please make another Jabba’s palace acc. pack with a couple of Jawas and a B’Omarr Monk , even if we had to put the B’Omarr Monk together, I dont think people would mind. I know I wouldnt mind. I think these acc. packs are a great idea and I will keep ordering them as long as you keep making them. Thanks for all your hard work and great products. I just rcv’d my T-800 & T-1000 and I am very happy that I ordered them. Cant wait for the Sarah Conner.

  30. KatyaR says:

If it’s anywhere near ye olde budget, it’s mine. :D
    Sweet Maker,that thing looks great.

And Adam is right, who knows what we’ll be seeing from Toy Fair? But I’m thrilled already with this set.

  31. jack says:

just don’t make chewbacca like hasbro did. i think sideshow can pull off the wool,i mean fur in such a good way. That this will be the best and the hardest figure that they have done so far.

  32. Jeremy S. in Rochester says:

Assuming it doesn’t have a ridiculous price tag, most of us will be getting this really fun addition to our 12″ collections.
    Very cool, indeed.
    Can’t wait for Toy Fair.
    .
Any chance of Lord of the Rings expansion packs?

  33. Kevin C says:

I hope that Chewbacca has fur and not made of molded plastic. Also, I hope that R2-D2 has sound effects and lights.

  34. John says:

for the person above named “Kevin C” That sure is crappy of you to say. about if they cant afford it dont buy it! You must not be a completist. I cant just not buy it at this stage. I have worked hard to get every figure ever made since 1977. And I’m not about to miss out on one if I can help it. The timing is just right for me as it allows me to continue getting the Hasbro stuff as well. Lay off of Sideshow and let them do their stuff. Have some patience!!.

  35. David says:

    Chris Beyond:
I sure hope you’re right about that announcement at Toy Fair. I must have R2-D2. Must, must, must!
This new Expansion Pack rules Sideshow. Keep up the awesome work with this line. I totally dig it!

  36. Skullsplitter says:

Kevin C, when i said “Complete set” i didn’t mean it in the literal sense of the word. For SS to make a truly complete Jabba’s Throne set it would take forever to put out every figure in it & who’d have room to display something that big. i meant that SS put so much detail into what they’ve released with Jabba’s Throne set it’ll be pretty amazing to see what they’ve got in store for the Dejarik Set. Sorry bout the confusion man.

  37. Chris Beyond says:

Isn’t it safe to assume that Chewbacca and R2-D2 are about to be announced in the 12″ line? Otherwise, putting this out would be seriously retarded. And by retarded I mean “they can do anything.” So yeah, Chewbacca and R2-D2 are going to be announced any day now. Probably at Toy Fair.

  38. Darth Trafford says:

I’m sooooooo there on this one! When SS makes the guy who is sitting next to Sebulba after he threatens to beat up Jar Jar I’ll be set for life. This is sooooo much better then a Mara Jade or a Tarkin figure or the Emperor.I know Chewie or C3P0 or R2 miiiight be in the future but why not release them first?I hope SS gets back on track and release character figures or EU characters not these thing that were on screen for a few seconds.

  39. astro666 says:

I cant wait for the pre-order day for this one. I am a big fan of having my figs in dioramas so these expansion packs are great as far as I am concerned. You keep making them SS and I will keep buying them. I still want to see a 12-inch Sora Bulq, and Han in Carbonite. You could do the Carbonite Block in the same vein as the “Furnace Environment” that you made and I missed out on. I was sad to miss that one and unfortunately the wait list did not work for me that time.

  40. Kevin C says:

JediNight: Yes, your arithmetic is right, but remember that you should factor in for the years that Kenner/Hasbro actually had 1/6 scale figures in stores and then you’ll see that my total is closer to the truth. K/H did release more than 10 figures per year, and sure each one was mass produced and yes, laughable compared with SSC high quality of workmanship. Remember that the key word here is mass produced toys and toys are for kids. Sideshow could offer more to all of their Star Wars fans, but they refuse too, and also they keep us all in the dark, hoping that we will bite at anything they release. Hey, SCC isn’t perfect either I have yet to receive a flawless figure, and one would think with low numbers being made compared to Kenner/Hasbro higher volume, that collectors would get a better figure for our money. JediNight, I would disagree that the pace is perfect, I say that Sideshow should release three times their current amount per year. If you cannot afford don’t buy. Not to mention that SSC release schedule is never on time. Poor Plo Koon where is he?

  41. Kevin C says:

OUCH! I just learned not to say anything bias about Sideshow or the watchdogs will not post your comment.

  42. steeve says:

  44. DarthNeil says:

I’m very happy with the amount of detail that SS are doing for Star Wars. I’m very excited about the meaning of this table as it eludes to Chewie, the droids, Han, Luke, and grizzled Obi-Wan from ANH. I am however very concerned about prices. I’m hoping that this expansion pack comes back down to earth for the pricing otherwise the 12″ line might go the way of the PF— and there’s no way that I can afford to collect those.

  45. Dorene says:

What a great piece, but remember to always let the Wookie win!!!

  46. Oboewan says:

I’m hit or miss on this one- I’ll probably end up getting it just cause I like board games (even holo boardgames).

to Kevin C: Jabba’s palace will never be complete…. not even Hasblo has completed it. The Han Solo/Carb blocks made by Hasblo should suffice temporarily for dioramas. They NEED to make Max Rebo Band set with sounds!

  47. jedipix says:

i would love to see a sidehow yoda and yaddle, possible twin pack?? Also – and i know some people are fed up with them – more jedi, esp female and ailen ones. After all the jedi are the back bone of star wars, no jedi, no force, no adventures in the galaxy far far away.

  48. JediNight says:

Kevin – ummmmm, that’s only an average of 5.4 figures per year on Kenner/Hasbro’s part. I count 8 figures shipped in the first year alone from Sideshow (9 if you count Sith Anakin, which you probably should, as I’m sure you’re counting the Kenner/Hasbro character re-hashes), and even more totally new figures announced and pre-ordered. And even if you factor in the dry spell, you can’t even compare those K/H figures to SSC’s offerings… it’s almost laughable! The amount of detail work that goes into SSC’s stuff is double that of the Kenner/Hasbro figs! I think the pace is nearly perfect – any faster and my wallet would never be able to keep up!

  49. Kevin C says:

    To Skullsplitter:

Sideshow has yet to complete any set or cast of characters from any of the Star Wars films, as you suggest they have with the Jabba Throne set. I will disagree with you, because SSC still needs to make Han Solo in carbonite, Lando, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Leia (in slave outfit), and SSC version of Boba Fett. Only then will the Jabba’s Throne room be complete. Sideshow listen up, if you’re not going to give us characters with armor for another two years and might I say, far too long of a wait, then please give us Yoda (ESB-ROTS), Darth Vader (ESB-ROTS), Lando (Bespin), Leia (Hoth-Bespin), Obi-Wan (ANH), Padme (Arena Battle – Mustafar), General Grievous, and all of the characters listed above in 2007. Kenner/Hasbro in a twenty-eight year period released nearly 150 1/6 scale figures, and SSC don’t forget about the dark years when no 1/6 scale figure was released. Sideshow at your rate it will take you fifty years to release as many.

  50. HAPPYBOY says:

You’re making my mouth water. What an awesome new piece, Man, I wonder if my wallet can take the impact that this month is going to bring. I absolutly love the look of this awesome piece, it is simply amazing. Great job Sideshow on making this a surefire hit. You are the leaders, and I a humble follower, lead away my friends.

  51. jedibear says:

Another unique piece ala Jabba’s Throne…looks fun!
As others have spec’d / mentioned, I hope this means a certain astromech & walking carpet are on they way :)

  52. Steve says:

Awesome! Leave it to Sideshow to come up with another Star Wars first. This year should be a good one for collectors, especially fans of the original film. Looks like we’ll be getting Artoo, 3-P0 and the Wookie. Can’t wait to see them when Toy Fair 07 pics are on the website. Keep up the good work SS. Love the detail on the holo board, don’t change a thing.

  53. John says:

Hi just in response to the comment a few up The Sith Speeder was made in 1/6 scale it was a wal-Mart Exclusive with a Darth Maul 12″ figure you can find them on E-bay relatively cheap and this set had a good Darth Maul in it. I have everything made since 1977 in both 12″ and 3/3 inch sizes also all the miniatures and my wallet reflects this LOL. I for one cant wait for Toy Fair this year. And I think if you look at Sideshows exhibit from the Hong Kong Toyn fair you might see a Chewbacca figure in the display case. although it is a bit far away it looks like Chewie to me standing next to the Bespin Han which by the way was one hell of a figure for those who dont have it yet. Love Sideshows quality and Love the diversity of product. Fot those who cant be satisfied till toy fair relax be calm and enjoy the ride. I’m sure Sideshow will treat us ALL to figures we want and demand. the license cost too much to just make a few. YOu ROCK SIDESHOW!!!

  54. keith says:

i wish sideshow would start putting prices in their preorder info so people knew what to expect. i hate getting excited about something only to find out i cant afford it.

  55. william says:

AWsome sideshow, im glad you all think outside of the box!! rock on!!! podracerx

  56. william shatners toupee says:

Sideshow doesn’t release things like this randomly. It is obviously a tease towards what to expect 1:6th at Toyfair. I can’t wait!

  57. Skullsplitter says:

Expansion Pack? Hopefully this means that you’re going to be making this a complete set like the Jabba’s Throne set. i know there’s a need for a Chewie that doesn’t look like something my cat puked up (Hasbro 12″)!!!!!!!!!

  58. KKnight says:

CHEWBACCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has to happen sooner than later. Now I’m’ assuming Sooner!!!!! Why have this in 12″ scale without Chewie? Who will be the next figure????????LET THE WOOKIE WIN!!!!!!!!

  59. Ken Benobi says:

Two words say it all: FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us this year…

  60. Michael Cooper says:

I’ve always wondered if there were rules for Dejarik, and I don’t know if they were in any role-playing sourcebooks. Will they be included?….

  61. barryo says:

i really think the translucent would be way cool especially if the board would have leds on it, give it that hologram look……or just put a small light above it. either way will be awesome. of course a real light up board would drive cost up and we all know the prices are creeping up as it is. but still gotta love the sideshow.

  62. andre says:

You guys need to challenge Medicom to a soft-ball game. Winner gets to make cool, 1:6th scale figures and the loser gets to make background props and ‘expansion sets’. Please.

  63. TIM says:

C’MON SSC! VADER, STORMTROOPERS, THE EMPEROR!! I FIND THE LACK OF WHAT WE REALLY WANT DISTURBING!!

  64. joe says:

this is really cool, does it come with the rules,? i hope this means we’ll be seeing chewbacca and artoo soon…please: )

  65. barajas916 says:

I agree a little with both sides. Yeah, this chess set is a neat idea but it’s not THAT exciting without the key characters that go with it. And at the same time I DON’T want to see characters that have been done multiple times by other companies like Hasbro, Attakus, etc. (At least not yet).

FIRST COVER NEW COOL FIGURES LIKE COMMANDER BLY, A SHOCKTROOPER, A DESTROYER DROID THAT ACTUALLY FOLDS UP & ROLLS, AND A 1:6 SCALE BANTHA!!! HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?

  66. Dan says:

The 16th???? That’s too long to wait, why not have it…today! All in favor…I suggest we give emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine to get this matter resolved. This is just too cool to wait for.

  67. Nick says:

Of all the accessories, do collectors really need this? I would rather have something better for my existing characters that I have. Like Darth Mauls Sith Speeder??

  68. patman says:

nice one! now, can anyone explain to me how the game works? =)

  69. John J Gallimore says:

Smart move on Sideshow’s part. I expect the expansion pack will be the little chess figure creatures so you can position them on the board.

  70. Sideshow Bob says:

This keeps happening to me. I hear what SS is coming out with and think, “that sounds cool, but like something I can pass on and keep the ol’ checking account balanced.”

    Then I see it?

Yeah. I cave every time. This one is seriously badd-@$$. Word.

  71. The Wilson says:

When I first saw it was the 1:6 scale, I thought, “Hm… That’s a good idea.” Then I thought, “Hm… That’s a great idea!” Then I read through the posts and saw the idea for translucent pieces, and I thought, “That would be a frickin’ awesome idea!” Make it so.

  72. Phil Harrison says:

This is yet another very impresive piece from you guys. Only trouble is the size. It would have been much better to have reproduced the pieces life size, one by one, with the board as a final settings piece to diplay them all on. This would (and still could) be so cool, I for one have been waiting for a time someone would manufacture a full size Holochess set. Come on guys do it!

  73. Trevor S says:

THis has to mean only one thing. Chewabaca!

  74. mudshark says:

Once again, thanks for the surprise, Sideshow! Of course, this begs the question ‘are you going to make the other characters in the scene this set was featured in?’ ‘WHEN are you going to make the other characters?’, is probably a better question.

Could there even be a Millennium Falcon cockpit environment in the works, perhaps? (The entire Falcon in 1:6 scale would be out of the question, though, right?) Anyway, looking forward to seeing more of this expansion pack up close on the 16th!

  75. Randy says:

2 expansion packs in a row? here it is february, on the pre-order day it will be 3 months since the last 12″ figure for the line went on sale, and we have no news as to what figure will be next
sideshow, i have to wonder about your sense of timing on products after this anouncement & the 3 endor soldiers all at once – though there is no question whatsoever on the quality or variety

  76. pan1776 says:

they are articulated. look at the secondary pic in the lower right corner. and i think they should remain opaque too. you can actually see the detail and color of the pieces, which they had in the movie, even though they were holograms.

  77. Adam Hughes says:

Will everyone please CALM DOWN. ToyFair is in 10 days, I’m sure SS is holding off on some BIG SURPRISES for that show. And maybe the reason why they haven’t done any ANH characters yet is because they were waiting for ANH’s 30th anniversary to make the most of an important year. Calm down, try some de-caf, and see what they’re gonna give us in the months to come…

  78. Puay says:

    Wow!!!!

  79. JediTray says:

What can I say, it’s from the original film, I’m in. :)

  80. Steven S. says:

More bits of colored plastic! I’m there!

  81. John says:

WOW amazing!!! Sideshow please keep this to around 45$ and I’ll deffinately buy!! WOW I guess I’m one of those nerd types too Cause I LOVE this. I got my Exclusive Han todya (e-bay) and Couldnt be happier I LOVE the critters!!!!! and dont make these translucent leave them as is just make them articulate in some way maybe the one where he bodyslams the other one make his arms go up and fown and I’ll be totally satisfied!! Thank You so much. Cant wait for Jabba and the Throne Both should be here soon *Ouch says my wallet but Hey I got the Inclusive Jabba Woo Hoo!!! go me!! thanks Sideshow for making some incredible stuff. Cant wait to see what you can do with a Chewie and the Ewoks. Oh and I keep asking but How about a super detailed Emperor Palpatine on his throne from ROTJ Thanks for considering.

  82. G-Dawg says:

Awesome!!! Keep up the great work with these set pieces and obscure characters. It’s nice to see a company think “outside the box”. I’ll keep on buying!!!!

  83. barryo says:

i hope that what we are looking at is mock ups and the final figures will be translucent or close to it. now you just gotta make chewy & r2!!! you have there picture up there so now you are legally bound…;)

  84. hellstoys says:

Its to bad that so many collectors(star wars)are unhappy about what sideshow is making and putting out on the market. I think its great because there toys that no other ompany has put out or even decided to put out. The creature packs for jabba`s throne are great and the chess set looks amazing. Why would so many collectors want pieces that have been made multiple times already? Its going to be a great addition to my already growing sideshow collection. And I can`t wait for the 1/4 Darth Maul. Thanks again Sideshow.

  85. corazon says:

Good job Sideshow!!!! Can’t wait to pre-order this one.

  86. George says:

I agree with Carl, do we really need this? Just another way to get $25 to $30 from us while we are waiting for characters we really want.

  87. Adam says:

Also agree that even if you could add a slight bit of articulation to the game-pieces, it would be most welcome. Even if I had to pay a little extra for it.

Just curious about Chewie…couldn’t you do him like a “King Kong” armature and cover the frame with a fur-covered fabric???

Something like a Ray Harryhausen stop-motion animatic???

  88. Adam says:

    Not that R2 “sits” persay.

  89. Adam says:

    WORD UP KYLE W.

My Sideshow bretheren couldn’t be more spot on!!!

Anyway, what’s the “exclusive” gonna be? I’ve got to bet that a couch is gonna be included. I mean 3-PO, Chewie and R2 need something to sit on.

  90. CHEWIE says:

This might be the first item that I try and get from the Sideshow line. I’ve always thought the 12″ line that Sideshow makes is fantastic and way beyond what was ever done with 12″ figures in the past.

Sideshow, great accessory for your 12″ line, and I hope you can someday acquire the license rights to playsets for the 3-3/4″ line as well…

  91. Richie Rich says:

GREAT idea!! But shouldn’t they be somewhat see-through being that they’re holograph’s? Or better yet, dip the pieces in radio-active ooze. Then they’ll glow for sure!

  92. shawn D. says:

This is a good idea. This is an item I wish was made a long time before this. I love SS for keeping fresh ideas. While I would like to see some “beloved” characters in 12″, it’s nice to not see some of the usual suspects! I guess 3PO and Chewie should be the next in line.

  93. Joseph Kenbobi says:

    Cool.
Top 3 expansion packs I’d like to see:
    - Backdrops…like, how great would it be to have a corner of Jabba’s palace, with Han in Carbonite hanging there?
    - One of those see-through radar boards from Yavin and/or Hoth
    - Jedi Council chairs
    (Hope they’re listening…)

  94. David says:

Thank you for the confirmation on the Chess Board’s scale and its addition to the expansion pack line. I can hardly wait for this and, um, please, please…help me Sideshow. Tell me R2-D2 is on his way. THX in advance…you guys ROCK!

  95. JediTricks says:

If the price is low enough, I think I can find a place in my heart for this, it’s a nifty idea but I fear it could be priced over a reasonable level for me. And I do hope the figures are translucent, clear holograms are always welcome (unlike mostly-opaque ones such as with Anakin SE).

  96. The Earl of Dunfield says:

This looks great! Do you think the final version will have translucent figures? I HOPE SO!

  97. Gruff Old Bear says:

This is a very welcome addition. These add-on packs really give my whole display a handsome finishing touch. The Sith Probe Droids were much more impressive than I expected, and I’m very glad to have ordered the Bubo pack. My calendar is already marked for this one.

  98. John says:

a little too “out there” for me. I can see how it would appeal to some though.

At least Sideshow is taking some different routes and taking chances….

  99. abcdefgfedcb says:

    is it life size?

  100. CJS says:

I can’t wait. Another SW item to add to my small collection that keeps growing. I am glad that I starterd collecting SW after I found SS and not before because everything I buy, I don’t have so it is all new to me. Great work SS.

  101. Randy says:

what’s a reasonable price for this accessory pack? 25, 30?
that doesn’t matter, by this point it will be 40 or more

  102. Kyle W. says:

Very Cool! This piece is a must. To answer the above question: These ‘useless, goofy, supernerd items’ are the reason I dig SC so much. Oh wait…The other items are useful, I had the 12 inch guys mow the yard the other day. These are all (may be, um)TOYS, they don’t do anything except collect dust and satisfy our inner kid. If SC put everything out at once then they’d be out of main characters and product line flow in about a year or two. It all goes back to if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. You Sc guys keep digging deeper into these movies and giving us some very cool, imaginative items. So if this is an accessory set, who does it go with? I thought Chewie was too hard to make???

  103. Seretur says:

A nice tribute to Phil Tippett and Jon Berg! I hope these little guys are articulated, despite their size. Otherwise, they could just as easily be transparent, ne?

  104. nadroj says:

I can’t wait for this!!! This is going to be SOOO cool. Now lets see a Chewie and R2!! Think of all the accessories you could release with R2!!

  105. astro666 says:

This could very well be the coolest thing EVER!!! This has to be my favorite movie scene, every time I see it, it takes me back to when I was sitting in the movies and watching Star Wars for the very first time when I was 8 years old back in ’77. Thank you SS, you dont know how happy you have made me(single tear)LOL

  106. Carl says:

Why does Sideshow keep making these goofy, useless super nerd items instead of making, um, I don’t know… maybe the MAIN CHARACTERS of the original movie? I’d like to see their A New Hope 1/6 Han, Luke, Chewie, Leia, the droids, Vader, Stormtroopers, etc. They’ve made NONE of these yet!!! But oh joy, we have a stupid chess set now!!!

  107. Adam says:

FANTASTIC…and thanks for verifying that this diorama is for the 12″ Collection.

I remember not too long ago, a bunch of were thinking of all the great accessory sets that could compliment the figures themselves. It’s great Sideshow is running with those ideas that got us all so excited. Count me in!!!

  108. Joe says:

wow…this looks awsomeee….i hope there will be a chewie, R2 and 3PO to go with this! Great work Sideshow! hoping to see more great pieces from starwars =)

  109. tomandshell says:

    Very interesting…

None of the characters that use this have been announced yet!! I am now really interested in the upcoming Toy Fair announcements.

  110. pruette says:

This looks great, but surely we’ll be getting some characters to go along with it! If this means Chewie is on his way, I can’t WAIT to see how Sideshow pulls off the fur!
