    I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McCaig at an event and can genuinely say, as witnessed in this terrific interview, that he is as buoyant, happy and enthusiastic in life as he is talented in his artwork. A terrific guy indeed! I found his conceptual work for the prequels to be the design glue that helped make this new trilogy functional. Without him…..

    I have all the SW PFs to date so Maul will make a welcome addition to the line – problem is I can’t display them all without buying a museum! & I have just been blown away by my first 12″ figure purchased – the SS Maul. It is astounding – the detail coupled with posabilty & accessories make these pieces winners .. I had to buy 2 so I can open one to play with (is that sad for a 33 year old? lol). & I agree with Sheldon Sampson … sith witches are required… I cant wait for Asaj Ventress 12″ to turn up … how about an Asaj PF? HMMMMM. Keep up the wage crippling goodies Sideshow …. the UK loves you!

    Great interview i was so impressed i could no longer resist the lure of the maul and i went on e-bay and bought myself the darth maul bust, for £390, The PF figure looks great too and will be added to my collection, I have all the others apart from grevious, I really hope maul has light up sabres like the obi-wan and darth vader PF, I would have bought grevious if the sabres had lit up, Keep up the goodwork sideshow, And hurry up with the PF stormtrooper i promise i’ll buy 2 to put either side of vader, Also i think Admiral Ackbar would make a great 1:1 bust.

    That is a great interview. thanks for doing this for us Sideshow. Some very interesting information that I certainly would not have otherwise known. I can’t wait to see more of what is truly an amazing piece of work, oh the anticipation is building. I want, I want!

    Loved the Part II of the interview, and the first official glimpses of the PF Maul. What a wonderful, wonderful piece!

    By the way…I think a great “Exclusive” version of a PF Maul figure would be a variation of his weapon. Maybe some kind of scary ninja-style double bladed sword or something taken from the many stories in print that involve Maul.

    I’ve seen some pictures and judging from his pose, can another PF (maybe a Qui Gon?)be far behind to make a diorama, just like Darth Vader and Obi-Wan?

    Darth Maul PF figure will be my most prized of my PF figures…IF this is really going to happen! I’m not aware of any “leaked” pictures of this version of Maul, but I would certainly like to see them!

    Thank you for the interview! Mr. McCaig is probably my favorite conceptual artist in the overall prequel trilogy (certainly his portraits are the most accomplished), and even though I thought I knew the story of Maul’s genesis pretty well, this video managed to enlighten. (I didn’t know that his horns were a misrepresentation! Well, a fortuitous one, for once.)

    Also, the Maul PF pictures have leaked, as you probably know, and I adore that piece. It won’t be my first SW PF, but it will be one of my most cherished ones.

    And now for some more of Mr. McCaig’s wonderful costuming — how about a Queen Amidala?
