Darth Maul Premium Format Figure - Important Pre-Order information
Sideshow's highly detailed reproduction of Darth Maul is a must have for the Star Wars Premium Format figure collector. The Exclusive edition will have a very low edition size of only 1,000 pieces world-wide and will be accompanied by an additional accessory: one of the Sith probe droids that he used to search for Amidala on Tatooine. This character is sure to bring out envy in your friends. Remember, "Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is." A sure path to the dark side.
This Sideshow Exclusive edition will be pre-ordered in a very unique way on Tuesday, February 13th, 2007. Sideshow Collectibles will be offering previous Star Wars Premium Format collectors the opportunity to place their pre-orders FIRST!
How will this Exclusive Pre-Order work?
- Collectors who have purchased a figure from our Star Wars Premium Format line directly from SideshowCollectibles.com, and had it shipped out prior to February 7th, 2007, will be qualified to place a pre-order for the Sideshow Exclusive Darth Maul Premium Format figure beginning at 10 AM PST on Tuesday, February 13th.
- All qualified collectors will receive additional pre-ordering information through a FLASH e-mail update on Saturday, February 10th or Sunday, February 11th.
- You will NOT be contacted via email the same day that the item is posted for pre-order.
- Qualified collectors must log in to their Sideshow online user accounts at 10 AM PST on Tuesday to access the ordering link on their account homepages.
- If you are not logged in, or if you do not qualify, you will NOT see the ordering link, nor a 'Purchase' button on the product's pre-order page. If you are logged in and qualify but are still unable to access the pre-order, try clearing the cache on your internet browser and refreshing the page.
- Phone orders will be taken for qualified collectors, however we believe that your online ordering experience will be much faster than ordering via phone. Phone orders will not qualify for Sideshow Rewards points.
If any items in the Exclusive edition remain available to purchase after Noon PST on Tuesday, they will be offered to Newsletter members via our Priority Pre-Ordering service, through a link on our homepage. Additionally, if any Exclusive items remain available after 2 PM PST, pre-orders will be offered to the general public.

I think it is great that Sideshow Collectibles recognizes the customer who has been loyal to the Star Wars Premium Format line from it’s inception. This is truly the one paradox in life.
On the onehand, it’s only fair to allow those of us who have others in the line the opportunity to order this one- given the popularity of the character and the everincreasing and growing SideShow customer base.
On the otherhand it does seem a bit unfair for newer buyers to potentially be left out.
So, there you have it. Appreciation for giving me a better cheance at getting one; and yet potentially leaving some out. Sorry, but I have no solutions. At least the edition size is not 200.
great piece, has anybody gotten their flash confirmation email yet – i just had a luke/yoda arrive from SS a week before this was announced, so i qualify, but have yet to see an email.
What an awesome piece. I was thinking of picking this one up, but since I am not a regular Star Wars collector, I am SOL!! I know they are trying to give the true collector a chance of having an awesome PF piece, but it is a little unfair to those who would truely want this piece, but can’t due to the restrictions. Those who buy to resell give all of us a hard time to purchase certain collectibles. I wish there was a fair way for everyone, but there is not, and I know SS is doing the best that they can to try different things to make sure that the true fan get what they want. Good luck Star Wars fans!!
Looks great and I love you guys but the way you play around with preordering stuff, you’re going to alienate alot of your customers. It should be first come, first served….PERIOD!………….joe

So the fact that the only SW PF i’ve wanted previously is Boba Fett is stopping me from being able to order the exclusive Maul from the start? I agree with PPOs but this method strikes me as particularly unfair. I have a SW PF pre-order, i have a PF Punisher but i’m not allowed to get this unless people who buy PFs all the time don’t want it? The only reason i’m not completely raging is because i decided that i didn’t want this one beforehand. I hope this idea isn’t used again for anything i actually want.

Sorry, but, I don’t plan on cancelling this one. Someone might get lucky on Boba Fett tho. Have to see how much this is and if I have any money left after SDCC.
I don’t really know how I feel about the new exclusive ordering process. I do qualify, but I would like to see a membership collector soceity started like MR does.
They put about 3 to 4 collector soceity poducts out a year and only members can order them.
I like this idea because you feel part of the team. Even though there is a yearly fee, the coupons you get are worth over $300+ on most products.

This is awesome!! I’ve been begging for SS to make a Darth Maul PF since they got the license. When I saw that he was finally going to be made I was happier about this than when I graduated from college!! As a matter of fact when he finally ships and arrives I may shave my head bald and paint it up like Maul.
I have all the PF exclusive statues and ordered all but 3 from SS directly, so I am glad this is available to loyal customers. But, I never really understood low edition sizes. Why not make this “inclusive” so anyone and everyone who wants it can get it? I also agree the exclusive is lame. If we could get a cloak, now that would be something to get excited about. And when are we going to see chewie and the droids already!

Here is a point of view I would like to share. I love the company, I love the products, and I love the people who make up your company. This is evident in my life as I enjoy talking with your personnel, and I have switched my collections to becoming predominantly Sideshow, to the point of trading for Sideshow items. I do not always buy directly from the site, but I do not think this should take away the fact that i am a “True Collector” or a “supporter”. As far as repeat customer, I am, just not always directly. While you have always tried your best to customize yourselves to your customers, and this is appreciated, I believe that by doing this particular exclusive with this process, you alienate those who WOULD want to partake in getting Darth Maul from you directly as an exclusive…those who truly collect for collecting, and not just out to make extra money. Not that all or many do, but some do. Those instances, however many, will be excluded from this exclusive. You may wish to reconsider, if not for this item, but for future items.

How much does anyone want to bet that the first wave of pre-order will not sell out. Can anyone tell me a Star Wars PF besides Han rebel hero that now sells for more than original SS retail. None, I think all who wants one will get one. Remember, this is PF prices, not 1:6 scale toys. By the way SS…looks awesome, can’t wait to get me some of that.

You guys keep outdoing yourselves. i’m wondering if there’s a PF Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon (hopefully Obi-Wan) on the way to display with Darth Maul like the way you can put the PF Darth Vader & Obi-Wan together?
Excellent! That face is gleefully sinister and packed with hateful joy. It’s everything fans of Maul could possibly want in a 1/4-scale figure. The pose is perfectly natural, not awkwardly exaggerated as we’ve seen in some offerings from other companies. The buoyant energy and natural grace of Ray Park is evident from head to toe. Bravo!
Sideshow, that’s sad! Now, all people that never bought a SW PF before, are forced to buy at least one Star Wars Premium Format, just to reserve an opportunity to buy a future exclusive Premium Format? To me, this doesn’t feel like rewarding dedicated SW PF collectors, but more like you are detaining potential new clients from starting their SW PF collection in the best possible way, namely with an exclusive version of what will certainly be the best Maul ever. Even though I qualify to buy this exclusive Maul PF, I belive everyone should get the same shot at this.

Wow, love the look of P/F Maul. I don’t qualify for the exclusive so I’m glad its only a Sith probe droid that I’ll miss out on. As this wasn’t present at the Theed battle its an odd choice by SS.

SS,its very cool that you have done darth maul in the premium format. but as far as the exclusive version.
enough with the probe droids already. the droids were great for the 12 inch figure. for maul had his cloak. like in the movie you only see maul with the droids while he is on Tatooine while wearing his cloak. this premium format maul looks like the one where he encounters obiwan and quigon in the naboo hanger. (which no probe droids were seen)
i feel that ss got lazy on choosing what exclusive accessory to give to maul in this format.
maybe giving him the object he forced powered to open the door while backing up from obi-wan and quigon in the hanger.
something beside a probe droid.
ill be getting this figure for sure. but will get the regular version. for the exclusive is only a way to get you to pay more mula.

I think I qualify. I hope so. It’d really suk if I dont. Esp. since I have all but Han and leia. but, cant remember if i ordered them all via the website or the phone.

Yes i qualify and best thing about living in the uk, is that 10am means 7pm here in blighty so i won’t be at work when the pre-ordering starts like so many of your usa collectors, and please please please tell me those lightsabre blades light up.

But I still want this PF Maul, and now I’m SO glad I got the Luke and Yoda PF exclusive from SSC recently! I guess that means I have a chance on Tuesday. Looking forward to more pix!
I like it a LOT… but I have one bone to pick (of course!). I am not so fond of the sort of indents around the tattoos. They are tattoos- and should be flush with the rest of the skin. I know, kind of nit-picky but I think that is a very important detail that was overlooked for whatever reason (ease of sculpting/painting?). Maybe the final version will not be like that. Ether way, I am stoked that Sideshow has given a lot of love to my favorite Sith!
I’m glad I managed to afford one PF straight from Sideshow, courtesy of a Wait List conversion. I’d be a very sad customer otherwise, right now.
Still, two hours shouldn’t make such a big difference for a $300 PF figure, even a highly-desirable one such as Maul. And the ES of just 1000 is actually quite enticing.
The piece itself looks top-notch, anyway — and that’s the only important thing, ultimately!

I agree that does suck. I jumped on the Boba Fett FlexPay plan on the first day. But that won’t be good enough to get in on this.

Much as I understand the frustration others may feel, as an early direct purchaser of Obi Wan, I am thrilled with this process…and have put my pre-order date on my calendar!
WOW – he looks AWESOME – like he just stepped off the screen!! And I really love this pre-ordering idea, nice move SS! Nightwings – here’s a possible solution… since you obviously have had business dealings in the past with people on the Freaks board who probably have purchased a SW PF from SS in the past and didn’t keep their collection (since they sold them to you), why don’t you ask if they can buy one for you during the special pre-ordering time? If you’ve managed to buy all the rest late in the game, I’m sure it will be possible to get this one. Or you could forego the probe droid and just get the regular – the figure is what’s awesome!! Good luck in your quest
This sucks sideshow! I came into this collection late and have only a wait list for Fett from your site. All my other pieces were purchased through freak board collectors. Now I probably won’t be able to get an exclusive of Maul because of it.
