Why did you choose to make this one available in the newsletter, Sideshow? I guess most where expecting a PPO. The newsletter is up between 3AM and 4AM here in Europe! I got lucky that Jango was still available the next day, otherwise I (and many other European collectors) would have missed it.
Thanks Sideshow! I am looking forward to having Father and Son side by side……awesome figures!!!
I know that these figures are expensive and the issue of scale always comes up but in terms of quality, they are very hard to beat. Medicom are a japanese toy company making high end collectibles for the japanese market – I for one am grateful that Sideshow have managed to reach an agreement with Medicom to allow a limited number of their excellent figures into the american/european market (I’m sure there’s profit in it for Sideshow but who’s in business to make a loss?). Anyone remember how expensive the Marmit figures were?
Although I would like to pay less for my Medicom figures (and believe me, you guys in the US get it relatively cheap), I think they are too good to miss. Certainly the pics of Jango on the net look awesome – another one for the collection (I’m gonna be in so much trouble with the wife………………….)
Edit: I feel SSC should not support the price politics for the Medicom figures by selling them to collectors at that price.
Yes, I agree, these Medicom figures are too expensive, no matter how cool they are. I feel SSC should not support the price politics for the Medicom figures by selling them to collectors. But, heh, these figures fly out the door, even at that price, how sick is that…
he lokks great, you can see the full body on medicoms site (sorry SSc) I look forward to his realease, it would be interesting to put him on display with boba. I wonder, does his head come of? can i put him with mace? i know the scales a bit off, but hey, it would be fun!
Wow yet again SS wows us all with sonething that they did not do. Amazing work on not making this figure SS, you guys do great work when you don’t bother to put out new product! Oh wait Leia in a white dress is coming out, I guess that counts for somethig huh?
I will be getting this one.medicom figures are awesome, besides this item will help me rack up my reward points….oh one more thing the medicom luke was one of the first medicom star wars figures, that’s why sideshows was better. Medicom figures only get better with each new release.but still both companies are awesome to me
oh yay, another medicom figure…you know, i get the newsletters to find out one thing: the newest “SIDESHOW” products. i haven’t bought any of the medicom 12″ (except for rei ayanami), and i won’t either. i’m holding out for a 12″ sideshow (especially the armored fetts and vader, or the non-armored nihilus and palpatine). c’mon sideshow, wow us again! we’re dying for “SIDESHOW” products, and that’s a good thing for you guys!!!
Wicked figure, saw full pics somewhere? the detail is freakin amazing. I know they’re mega-limited but for the $$$ the little bugger should paint my house.
Screw the 1/6th issue !!
THIS IS THE BEST JANGO I’VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!
IT WILL BE MINE OH YES
Sideshow Toys is very aware of its fans and their requests for Sideshow to produce armored figures. Therefore, here is another overpriced figure from Medicom. Please enjoy.
Sideshow is capable of producing their own armored characters for way less. I really like this RAH stuff but it is too steep for a 12″ figure.
COME ON SIDESHOW! HELP YOUR BROTHERS OUT!
Hmm! I have the Hasbro version of Jango and I may very well shell out the big bucks for an RAH version. I totally agree with everyone and their brother/sister on this site when they say that SSC needs to step up and produce the armored versions of the figures. I’m sick of Jedis and Rebel heroes. The suspicion that this may be a April Fool’s Joke (remember the Maul torso) is nice, and it would be a pleasant gift to have SSC say “Ta-da, we fooled you, it’s our newest 12-inch figure!” One can only hope.
More Medicom RAH? Oh well, it is Daddy Fett so I will most likely have to have one anyway, but c’mon let’s get back to some Sideshow figures. You guys set the standard and I guess I shall always compare everything to the great Sideshow work.Maybe I’m being unfair to other companies, but Sideshow is what made me become the freak I am today and I just long for some Sideshow 12 inch news.
put me on the list
yea. im with the above comment…when is sideshow going to give us some troopers. They are “the” iconic image associated with Star Wars. The Stormtrooper is the quintessential figure that is missing from the sideshow lineup. No disrespect to RAH but ive got the Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight from RAH and the Sideshow is a much more durable and collectable figure…I love the new Extras and Ancillaries line, if its not an early April Fools Joke, its what collectables are all about, the unique figure that makes someone say” I cant believe they made a figure of that!” but enought with the RAH figures, lets get some meat to the bones of the collections. Long live the clones!!!!
This is just awesome! It is a real shame that Sideshow doesn’t make 12″ action figures any more. I’m glad that Medicom picked up the ball when Sideshow dropped it.
Can someone tell me how long until the URL changes to medicomtoy.com???
When talking about articulated 12″ body, you just can’t beat Medicom’s. Not only the posings are as realistic and natural as a normal human you can get, the figure actually stands without worrying about toppling. Moreover, body proportions are top notch, as well as sculpting of the character design. All in all, Medicom 12″ figures are worth every penny of it, even though we pay for around US$100, and US$50 more for US customers.
Kewl!
Medicom has nice stuff though for the price I can not justify buying them, especially considering they are the WRONG size next to Sideshow Collectibles 12″ lines. If Medicom got on track like Hot Toys in the scale department they’d have something. I know Medicom is not worried as they usually limit their pieces to the present year of release ie; 2007 Jango’s in 2007. This is why sideshow is not worried about selling Medicom Star Wars figures after another company produced them already. Most of you will not get a Medicom as they are extremely limited so you will seek the Sideshow version. Just waiting for armored characters Chewbacca and Aayla Secura amongst others. If I’d pay $150 for an scrawny off scale Clone, Jango or, Medicom figure I would surely pay it for a well done Chewbacca from Sideshow Collectibles. The only 12″ or 1/6 scale figures I see that are the right scale next to Medicoms’s are the Hasbro figs that used the shorter more poseable, non steroidal Gi Joe Bodies. Put your Medicom Clone next to Hasbro’s Count Dooku. Rare exception that looks right
Nice edge detail on the holster strap.
Kit, they’re long ago in a galaxy far, far away.
I love sideshow, don’t get me wrong BUT every time i check the newsletter it says “new RAH figure coming soon,” Where are the sideshow figures with armor??????
Cant wait to place my order. I recently got the Clone Trooper in the mail and I am very pleased with it. Medicom is doing a great job, I just wish they were a little cheaper. My wallet is really taking a beating.
Nice close-up shot of the detail!
this is the best looking figure i’ve ever seen, just might have to pay the exorbitant price and get one
Rock on! Can’t wait to order this from SSC!
I thought that Boba Fett was going to be my first and last Medicom figure. But I have to admit that this Jango is tempting me…
SIGN ME UP!!! Jango rocks!!! (Now c’mon Sideshow– let’s get some more 12″ to go along with this awesome fig).
