I really like the concept and the sculp. Looks great and if like everything else, it will be even better in person. Given the size (pic 1 looks to be about actual size on my monitor 8″ by 6″), I think $80 is a bit steep. Was planning to buy if it was either A) bigger for that price or B) More around $40 for that size. Keep up the great work.
I agree that we need more information on these products BEFORE they go on sale. Price, shipping costs, dimensions, materials used…these are all important factors to ANY consumer making ANY purchase…especially online!!!
The rod would look much better if it were simply black.
And I agree, Sideshow should tell you the cost of the item before it goes up for pre-order. If it is out of your price range, you wouldn’t be wasting your time, or tying up their server for others.
I think Sideshow could do fans a service by posting more information about their items before they go on sale. What dimensions does the diorama has? How much is it going to cost?
Those things are really important to collectors such as myself since I have spent thousands of dollars on Sideshow’s Star Wars line.
I agree with frank on this one, i’d like to see the costs listed before the day comes up, at least in the preorder emails they send out or something, a few days warning would definately help me plan. I have a hard time getting on the computer at 10am due to the time difference, and it’s disappointing when i put the effort in to get to a computer, only to find out the item is out of my price range.
i am definitely a fan of this item. just one thing though, how much does it cost? could sideshow please start maybe, hopefully putting item prices up before the item is available to order… maybe? it would definitely help us out.
That someone can want this or not is all about taste but to be the devil’s advocate I also think the white pole is not the best choice. Why not some translucid material or put the pole sideway instead of vertically. What would be nice also is a way to choose where in the mouth the Falcon would be. Almost out or still far in.
I’m excited about this… But what is it going to be made of? Is it all metal?
Maybe not as exciting as paint drying, but it does rate up there with watching grass grow. I’ll wait till something else worth spending too much money is offered.
is this an April Fools joke ? I hope so…..Why the heck would anyone want this ? Silly
Boring!!!!!!!!!

Funny, I heard your skills in the sack were the same.
I think it’s great and adds nice variety and is something no one has attempted before. Good job Sideshow!
Pretty sweet piece!!! Definately a must have. Great job SS!!! Someone’s got to start a support group for all us SS addicts.
Although I do not do the statues. I do like how Sideshow has continued their covering of areas of the movie that have not garnered a lot of attention. This was a great scene and even the scale of the Falcon being off considerably (the Falcon flew between the teeth as the mouth closed in the movie) does not detract from this piece. Nice work Sideshow. Now give me more 12″ figures.
I dunno – I just CAN’T get excited over this piece
Assuming the Falcon’s support is less subtle in reality than the picture makes it appear, this will be a great addition for me.
Thanks for picking such an uncommon and creative subject! Empire is my favorite of all the films and the asteroid sequences still thrill me as much as they did when I was eleven watching it in the theaters.
that is not a pole…….it is a drill……..han noticed that the slug was in need of some dental work on the way out so he put it in reverse and decided to drill out & fill this poor beast’s cavity…….hopefully he cleared out before the rinse & spit
Just to be clear — the SW Diorama line is THE collectible line for me at the moment, and I plan to collect it in its entirety. It’s something I’d waited for all my life, and Sideshow isn’t letting my hopes down in the slightest.
I love the detail, I love the fact that there’s quite a bit of the asteroid environment, I love the surprisingly complex paint job… and even if the pole is a bit of an eyesore, I’m sure there’ll be ways to camouflage it.
Never thought I’d be so excited over a SLUG!
I’m sorry but this is about as exiting as paint drying. Pass.
Now, the way I see it, the best way to make some more money and complete this piece is to build a second statue that is displayed directly unerneat this one and is of a guy smooshed under the built-up stage with his hand in the space slug puppet. Think about it.
WOW, i was passing on the sandtrooper exclusive sense i decided to only collect certian figures when it comes to statues and RAH and what not, but this piece is NICE!!! i may just get this one after all. and as stated by a previous poster, this will be awfly nice to come home and open up one of these bad boys =D, once again, great job SS>
this is great but some people doesn’t apreciate the art;never
mind the pole just imagin the scene when this happened in the
movie it was fantastic
Nice piece but I thought the 30th anniversary diorama would have involved A New Hope – Death Star Trench or the likes. Never mind, its still brilliant!
Opening this up will be the highlight of my return home from Celebration 4.
Please fix the pole. Sculpted engine exhaust that hold the Falcon in place would be ideal, but at least a more camoflauged color would be a significant improvement to what already looks like a unique and fun piece. Is this really going to be a wall mounted plaque? What’s the final size going to be? How much will it cost? I almost hate these Ministry of Information teasers because they sometimes create more questions than answers.

I think the pole is a little more prominent in the picture than it actually will be…
Anyone know what the price of this might be?
This is why we can’t have nice things.
i kinda like the pole, makes it look like the falcon’s poopin on the slugs tongue. What else is a bird to do? Nice piece though, the texture on the slugs skin looks great : )
Very nice looking. SS you have some great sculptors.
The pole does suck but you could maybe paint it black then it wouldn’t show as much.
WOW! That looks great -cant wait to place my order!
Considering that the rest of the piece is so perfect, couldn’t you guys have made the pole that supports the miniature Falcon any more of an eyesore?
Here’s hoping that it’s just an inconvenient reflection… as I’ll be there the second the non-attendee PPO starts!
