    @Chad: The Gambit PF is already out and the Rogue PF is coming soon. Though the poses for them are the same as the PFs of these characters, this looks like this will be a Gambit & Rogue diorama. A 1/4 Sentinel head would be cool Though.

    Just read that Rogue and Gambit might be PF figs. Though dissapointing they may not be part 4 of the Sentinel Dio statue area it is a reliefe to not have to horde back the cash for another…though if they do a 1/4 scale sentinel head for the line I guess I am back to great more money to spend. Either way I am pleased for whoever likes whatever comes.

    Anibal – totally understand your need for more 1/6 – but as a collector of 1/6, PF and life sized I have to ask…have you seen a PF in person before? The quality is unbelievable – and took a hardcore 12″ fan (me) and turned him into (eventually) a hardcore bust fan. SS you do incredible work. More aliens would be the coolest (Max Rebo band w/stage anyone?). My list could go forever…(Ree-Yees, Ephant Mon, Nebrun Leids, Tessek, Labria…insert alien name here). Maybe lest troopers though..unless a new mould (Snowtrooper would be cool). That’s my piece. Happy New Year Sideshow (you always make mine happy!).

    Some cool reveals thus far! Loving the LOTR statues! And that Alien “Big Chap” PF is going to be VERY hard to resist! Also, I’m really digging the Templar Knight zombie! Very cool idea! With all the zombie love happening right now in movies and TV, it’s just a matter of time before we get a period zombie movie (other than “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” that is).     That Thor PF looks completely awesome. I hope his eyes and hammer light up. I have a feeling they might. I think I’ll get the PF regardless. It seems that the light up features seem to add to the cost, but sometimes it’s worth it. I’d like to see a 1/4 scale Magneto, Apocalipse, or (if they dare) Jabba the Hut. I love what sideshow is doing with these statues: it’s amazing.

    WoW!…The passion for LOTR license is alive and well here! I understand completely where you guys/gals are coming from. I feel the same way for the Star Wars 1:6 scale fig line (I grew up on the first three movies. They shaped my passion for all things Sci-Fi fantasy!) and look forward to all the wonderful goodies coming down the pipeline. I, too would collect the LOTR product from Sideshow if I didn’t already have such an extensive investment in the SW line.

    Look, I know where you guys are coming from, but what is SS supposed to do here? THE biggest complaint SS have received from LOTR collectors since the PF launch of 2005 is : “Where are the fellowship members?”. It’s a legitimate request/complaint since we are now 5 years and 10 PF’s into this line with only 4 fellowship members to show for it.
    So they start a new, completely different line [both in scale and medium] and this time they actually take to heart what collectors have been telling them, and what happens? People complain about SS starting off the line with the first 3 maquettes consisting of fellowship members. Good grief!

    And they complain [or voice their disappointment] about not enough diversity, knowing full well that the next three maquettes consist of characters SS has never represented before in any line, with the exception of the Boromir LSB. Again, good grief!

    And these complaints/ disappointment coming from guys who haven’t yet supported this line with a single penny out of their own pockets. Have any of you guys figured out yet that if you don’t support this line now, there may not be a later?

    I have to say I understand Strummer and Paul. O.k. I am not complaining about not having enough diversity, but I also told my thoughts about the Maquette line already. I really love the PF statues from LotR presented from SS already and was hoping for Gimli in same format to add to my collection, as I like the detailed and clothes fitted figures more than the complete casted Maquette ones. That doesnt mean that I am complaining about the quality or something, it is just a sentence of disapointment. Because when I am owning PF statues from LotR alfready, I surely will not add any Maquettes to this collection, although they look fantastic.

    I don’t get it? SS creates a new LOTR maquette line and two of the 1st three pre-orders [Aragorn and Legolas] feature the best likenesses ever produced of those characters, with the Gandalf maquette likeness bested only by the incredible PF and people like Strummer and paul white complain.

    Not enough diversity they say. Really? We’re only five statues into this new collection and you guys are already complaining about not enough diversity? And this coming from people who obviously aren’t supporting this line in the 1st place. Why don’t you guys whine and complain about the lines you’re actually collecting, instead of ones you don’t? Feel free to stick with the PF’s or with your substandard SSW stuff if you wish, and let those of us who are actually supporting the maquette line worry about character selection, OK?

    This “expansive” new collection is meant to be just that. It’s meant to cover the Fellowship members. It’s meant to make right some of the horrible decisions by Weta and produce characters they long ignored such as Faramir, Eomer, and Denethor. It’s meant to produce an entire range of characters, and to do so of a quality that is superior to anything we’ve seen before.

    What it isn’t meant to do is solely supply a few collectors with the missing pieces of their miserably incomplete Weta collection. And it’s not meant for PF collectors who incredibly [not to mention ridiculously] don’t want to see the maquette line contain a complete Fellowship. Which is ironic since the chances of ever seeing a complete Fellowship in PF are slim and none. I have to ask, what on earth are you thinking?

    The fact is, this line isn’t going to survive on the support of guys like you, so why don’t you just sit back and enjoy the ride for now. Let those of us who actually do support the maquette line [now and in the future]help determine which direction it heads in, OK?

    I argee with paul white. Not enough diversity (yet) in the LOTR line. The first 3 (Gandalf, Aragorn & Legolas) have been done at this point. The look pretty good but I’m not investing any more money into charathers that are already well represented in my colection. Especially, when the PFs are better quality and better bang for the buck.     At last, something tangible to hold on to! This LOTR maquette collection preview is gorgeous. Very artistic. very classy. It’s about time SS, and well done! To Lars: I’m not sure what you’re talking about but these maquettes are 1/6 scale. As for a Gimli PF, I’m afraid to burst your bubble, but it’s not happening in 2011. The Mordor Orc and Ringwraith on Steed PF”s are scheduled for this year and while there is an outside chance we will see one more PF before the end of 2011, it won’t be Gimli. To Obsidian : I’m not sure which licences you collect from, but we both know it’s not LOTR. Why don’t you tell us the licences you actually do collect so that when you go 5 month’s without any news/information we can give you the same awe inspiring advice you gave us.

    Those Lord of the Rings statues in 1:6 are really neato, but I’m holding out for actual 1:6 figures to finish the Fellowship started a few years back. Here’s hoping.
    Statues are beautifully done and very tempting, but the 12″ figures were the best.
    I hope with the Hobbit underway, maybe we’ll see 1:6 action figures of Merry, Pippin, Gimli, Arwen and Uruk Hai someday!! That would make a lot of collectors mucho happy!!

We all know Sideshow is releasing a LOTR video during the 12 Days of Christmas, the point which you seem oblivious to, is why couldn’t SS release the SW video AFTER releasing some LOTR news?     So what does all this mean? Simply that Days 6 & 7 will belong to Dinsey and LOTR, in no particular order. Since I couldn’t care less about Disney, here’s hoping Day 6 is for LOTR fans, and LOTR fans only! Bring on the Legolas maquette preview, and bring on the 12 Days of Christmas LOTR feature video!!!

    And as much as it pains me to see only 1 SW preview in 5 days [LOL], relax. I’m pretty sure you basement dwellers will end up with 2 more before the event is over, including the much awaited Emperor on Throne PF. So let’s try and keep the incessant whining to a minimun shall we?

    Yes! Day 3, best reveal ever. Well, we knew it was coming, but the image itself is very very cool, and it’s nice to know that Gambit and Rogue will fit together. That’s all I really wanted. This 12 days thing is really quite fun.
