Awesome movie likeness this time!! I’m VERY pleased. I’ve turned down several desired LOTR works in the past because the likenesses were SO disappointing. Great action stance as well. It’ll look great alongside my Leggy & Gimli on Arod, Crack of Doom Frodo and Gollum, Premium Format Moria Frodo, and my various other LOTR collection. Is it too much to ask for a Merry & Pippin diorama with the same spot on likeness? Or at least one of all the hobbits together? I’ve been on the verge of getting a Strider or Gandalf too, but just haven’t yet. Keep honing the likenesses and I’ll happily continue buying. Thanks SS! Keep up the good work.
Legolas has more accurate likeness to Orlando Bloom than Aragorn or Gandalf in my opinion. And the pose is very dynamic. Definitely one to be added to my collection.

I really hope we finally get a Boromir in this line. A Saruman would be ace too.
Hmm, I think Sideshow missed a detail, the scabbard of his fighting knives should be brown since he is using the Lothlorien bow on this one. He had the white scabbards when he was using the Mirkwood set.

Sideshow, the quality of the maquette line to date is beyond reproach. Extremely well done so far! Legolas looks fantastic, as does Aragorn and Gandalf the Grey. Just do us a favor and don’t keep us waiting 5 month’s between maquette news or pre-orders again, OK?

With this announcement, you have secured me as a patron of the new maquette line. The preview image shown in 12 days was a knockout as well. Looking forward to the imminent shipping of Aragorn as well as a regular quarterly dose of LOTR in this maquette format. Keep up the absolutely killer work Sideshow.
On a side note, Sideshow, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t let us down and not commit to at least completing The Fellowship in this line. It’s off to a great start so far, but what will put faith back in the LOTR fans is your commitment to completing this line with The Fellowship nine. Good guys are great and all, and you won’t hear me complaining about any Fellowship announcements, but it wouldn’t hurt to consider throwing some baddies such as Lurtz, Saruman, Sauron, etc. into the mix as well. Thanks for listening.

Fantastic. Very good likeness. A bit pale hair, but that might just be the lighting. The only thing I want to ask about is the dimensions of the bow – it looks a bit chunky…
This shall definitely be my first Legolas purchase; it looks fantastic! Looking forward to Gimli and Arwen also, but hoping Sideshow expand to other characters, like Glorfindel or Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth.

I sure hope Sideshow or Hot Toys or somebody sees the wisdom in finishing up the 12″ Fellowship (plus an Arwen and Uruk Hai) as the Hobbit movie gets rolling.
AND I hope they don’t cancel this statue line partway through a reasonable run of characters, like what happened with the fantastic 12″ figures from LOTR. They were just getting amazing when the line was dropped indefinitely, one of the reasons I’m shy about collecting any of these 1:6 statues.
Also the Indiana Jones 12″ line on hold for so long, and now Hot Toys doing their own. So many of us had hoped for a Marion and Sallah, main core characters from two of the four films, but instead long term rumours of Short Round bummed us out.
Another great line that sort of disappeared indefinitely.
Us collector types like to feel like we can get a “complete set of main characters” within a theme, plus a few secondary characters.
And the lack of female 12″ doesn’t seem to make sense.
Sideshow makes some awesome stuff, I guess some of us wish there was more of certain awesomenesses to be had!
Can’t wait to see what comes out in 2011!
