Adventure Begins For Sideshow Collectibles With Indiana Jones Franchise
Thousand Oaks, California (July 2007) - Sideshow Collectibles is proud to expand its relationship with Lucasfilm with the announcement of a new licensing deal to produce collectibles from the Indiana Jones film series. The adventure series began with the 1981 release Raiders of the Lost Ark, followed in 1984 by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and by Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. After fourteen nominations and seven Academy Award wins for the film franchise, the adventure continues with a much-anticipated fourth installment yet to be titled, set for release on May 22, 2008. Sideshow's product line will be inclusive of all four Indiana Jones films and will include 12-inch Figures, Premium Format Figures, and Life-size Busts that will range in price from $69.99 to $599.99

IT’S GREAT TO HEAR SIDESHOW IS GOING TO MAKE 12″ FIGURES OF INDY. MCCOY SET THE BAR HIGH ON FORDS LIKENESS. BUT, FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, SIDESHOW CAN GIVE THEM A RUN FOR THE MONEY. HOPEFULLY,FOR A LESSER PRICE AND A BETTER QUALITY COLLECTIBLE. WE INVESTORS CANT WAIT !!! GO SIDESHOW!!!
Anyone that thinks the McCoy Jones looks terrible, needs to make an appointment with the eye doctor. It captures his face perfectly all the way down to the scar on his chin. Like before don’t knock it because you can’t afford it.

I have never seen an Indiana Jones movie in the theaters as I was to young, but I am the biggest Indy fan. I really cannot wait for the Indy figures, especially the 12 inch, to be released becuase I’ve been saving my money for years! I have yet to this day seen a decent likeness of Ford so I await the reveal with anticipation. $900 is too much money for a collectible like the McCoy figure, which honestley looks terrible and I want to apoligize to Mr. Ford for a company claiming that that figure has his likness. Let’s go Sideshow!!!
Its about time you got the liecense to make Indiana Jones, need to make 12 inch figures of him, his dad, his ladies,his friends and of course his villians!

I missed out the first time when the Indiana Jones 12″ doll by “Toys McCoy” was for sale. Only a limited quantity. But I will NOT miss out this time! I can NOT wait to see the detail, jacket, and of course the famous fedora! No matter what though, I will be purchasing the 12″ Indiana - and if I can afford to, much, much more!! Thanks you guys!!!

I cant wait finley Indiana Jones gets a very long awaited figure line . first Hasbro will produce 6 inch figures from all three movies and a 12 inch Indy . and to think people were paying $900 for a toys Mccoy Indy that looks horrable.
Now we get the great artist at Sideshow to truely sculpt Indy the way he was ment to be made with all the details

It will never look as good as the McCoy Jones. I have to doll and it is perfect in every way. Just like hasbro Star Wars 12 inch dolls and from what I have seen with the side show Han Solo. They can never get the face right especially the nose.

Yes Yes and yes finally as soon as I saw star wars was being done i thought they have got to do indiana jones! I mean a indy figure in trademark hat, leather jacket, gas mask bag, whip and revolver (remember they were different guns in each film) couple that with a figure of connery in the full “dad” outfit and finish it off with the german motorbike and sidecar to go with both figures. Now THAT would be cool!

yes!!! here’s hoping that ss will also get the license for interview with the vampire, once upon a time in mexico (Johnny depp’s character is probably one of th coolest movie characters ever) and heat. This one will never be made into a toy ever, but i do hope that an equilibrium line would also be made. movie madness!!!

Glad to hear that you have finally got the Indy licence. So, here’s a future idea for your 1/6 scale line - A wall mountable plaque of a rock face with partial rope bridge to display a beat up Indy and Mola Ram (I suppose that would also make a good diorama). I know the only thing that isn’t happy about this announcement is my bank account. Keep ‘em coming SSC.

I hope to see a 12″ scale Accessory Set along the lines of the “Treasures of Indiana Jones” that has things like the Ark, the Holy Grail, the Shankara Stones, the Idol from Raiders, the Map Room Staff, Cross of Coronado, etc. (Basically any treasures that don’t come with the figure itself.)

Indiana Fett, don’t get too excited about the accessories. Sideshow accessories look great but break easier than any others on the market, seriously reducing the value of the item(s).

Sideshow, I have only been a fan of yours for a couple of years. By that I mean someone who actively buys from you and visits your website atleast a couple of times a week. I have read the bio of how your company started with the small-scale horror movie action figures and I have to say I am completely in awe of what you guys do and how far you have come. You are the Pixar of the collectibles world, everything you do is golden in its own way. What to go!!

A line that pays homage to the world inhabitied by Indiana Jones has been harder to find than the Ark of the Covenant, the Stones of Shankara and the Holy Grail combined! If anyone can do justice to this line it will be the artisans of Sideshow. Thanks!

And 12″ starting at $69.99…That sounds HIGH QUALITY to me…I hope we’re talking the level of detail similar to the 12″ LOTR series, with all the tiny leather straps and buckles! But SS, please, PLEASE…watch those paint apps. Indy NEEDS to have killer paint apps! YEE-HAW!
