Got my Luke today, and I am very happy with the sculpt. Seems much improved over the prototype version and is also one of the first figures to have a proper head size in my opinion. Yeah, they screwed up the collar but nothing an iron can’t fix. I do wish he came with a few extras from the Dagobah campstite, especially the backpack. That would’ve been nice as would the severed Vader head. But Hamill is a hard guy to capture as his features are very subtle and I think they’re well rendered here. If a packpack was made, you could hide the shoulder joints and have a pretty cool training luke. Albiet a dry-haired one!

I am excited about this Luke figure. I just hope Sideshow takes it easy on the paint apps for his face. The pictures shown make this Luke look older than the Jedi Luke. Now we need a Hoth Leia.
Is Sideshow going to make x1 Chewbacca figure someday? Or are they going to make several versions, ANH, ESB, & ROTJ? I hope all three versions are made.
NOOOOOO!!! Please Sideshow! Please! You are NOT some average toy mill producing “waves” for wal-mart, you DO NOT need to make the same character over a dozen times while overlooking characters that havent even been made into toys! Stop churning out lukes and focus on rounding out the main characters, or better yet make new ones (I LOVE Kit Fistos 12″ figure). We need Chewie and Vader, or just complete the Jedi council! NO MORE LUKES, if you MUST promote luke wardrobe, offer his duds in “expansion packs” that can be used with the one you already made.
You know what we really want: VADER and some clones. But how to do it? These figures must be exceptional. They are iconic and fan favorites. Get it wrong and they will turn on you. But you cannot avoid your destiny. You must face Vader . . . or all is lost.

It is hard to judge by the small preview, but I am concerned you are going down the Hasbro route of issuing the same figure in every costume, this would be a great shame. I would like to see a premium, C-3PO, Stormtooper, R2 D2, and possibly Palpatine and Tie Fighghter completing all the main characters.The larger figuers look so much much interesting and not like a toy. I have been collecting these 12″ and would prefer to see some more dioramas and innovatve interesting ideas rather than dozens of dolls, these I know eventually I wont have the space for, try to sell and cannot . Might bow out on this one on principle.
Nice, but it’s time for other main characters. What about New Hope Luke and of course like everyone else I am still waiting for Darth Vader and Stormtroopers.

I personally dont have a problem with another Luke, after all, he is the main character in the original trilogy. But, I do agree that we need a little more variety. More specifically, WE WANT ARMOR!!!!

To those with a wishlist of characters for Sideshow to make…forget it. Not going to happen. The rate of getting figures out is too slow. There are hundreds of excellent potential figures, but we’ll never get to see most of them. I am fully aware it takes time to make a good figure, but it CAN be done faster. This is the 30th anniversary…why are we not drowning in figures and going bankrupt? Come on, capitalize on this and crank them out.
The one I want most is Aayla Secura, and a few other key Jedi. I really want SS to stop remaking ones Hasbro has already done (either good or not so good). Do a poll, see which characters are most in demand, and satisfy as many people as possible. The troopers are years away, SS has already said that, because of the armor or something. Please stop praising SS!!! If you keep praising them they are never going to give you what you want. I’m am disgusted by their slowness, and I am growing very dissatisfied with the price hike. Let’s keep that in check, ok SS?
I don’t know about you Luke fans, but I got Hoobits!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! On a more serious note, I think a better variety is needed in the SW line. The PF format is great, the 12″…….
Sadly, another luke. And the only one I would like to buy is the jedi one, which is terrible due to the monkey arms problem. Please bring us some more jedis and VADER. WE NEED A SSC VADER.

What about making some hybrid star wars 12″ figures. Take the Medicom Bruce Lee head and a Luke body with the LOTR Legolas weapons. Give us some cool hybrids. Hot Toys Alien body with an Obi-wan head, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! No more boring Star Wars figures please.

I just thought of a way for sideshow to do a slave leia where her joints dont show. Sideshow try a panty hose like material and cover her arms and legs with it. do it in a skin tone to match her chest and arm and head and it will bend with no issue but also cover up her joints looking awesome on display. Also PLEASE make unmade characters!!!!

Goodthing i didnt order for the yavin luke, bespin luke is better than the 2nd luke. I know some guys are tired of ss doing multiple figures for a character and are waiting for other figures (vader, troopers, fetts, yoda, lando, droids, sidious) but since youve done 3 lukes already, why not do a slave leia as well? do that and i wont complain if you do a hoth han, x wing pilot luke, hoth luke, episode 1 obi wan ( by the way an obi wan in trooper attire would be great), episode 2 anakin (which i think will be nothing new compared with episode 3 anakin except for the sculpt, episode 3 padme, etc. and of course please do vader and yoda soon.

i saw lukes head in leaked photos very good better expression i would love to have him becuase i didnt get the green saber luke or the rebel hero becuase i didnt like those two luke sin the film this is prefect also if your gonna do boba fett which color will his undersuit be? it was blue in some cases and he had it blue in a delted scene of a new hope but in the other films it was grey. i undersatnd why youre not rushing vader out of all of them he is the hardest to make also if you can please make the emperor ( not sure how to spell it) he would be perfect

I don’t like to complain, but I have a few problems with how Sideshow treat us customers. We pre-order items and then are given a timeline for delivery, but SSC has never achieved their purposed timeline. Then in a short period of time and insult to injury we receive three 1/6 scale figures in just three months. As a collector I’m tired of it; aren’t you? And these figures always have major flaws with the paint or clothing. Also, SSC are TOP SECRET about future figures. I believe it’s a strategy they have hoping we’ll bite at everything they release Star Wars. So Sideshow, if you read this the only 1/6 scale figures that I’ll purchase are Darth Vader (ESB or ROTJ), Chewie (yes, he can be made with fur, it‘ll be pricey, but can be done.), Lando, C-3PO and R2-D2. I recall at CIV a member of your panel say that Hasbro makes a good C-3PO and R2-D2. Well, just another insulting comment to us customers. By the way I have the right to complain, because I have every 1/6 scale figure.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan and a fan of the 12 inch line from SSC and when the pre-order date is here I’ll be online to get this one. I just hope there’s not a mess like when Obi-wan went up for sale. Get on that SS. I hope the figure will look like he was in Empire. When he got to Bespin Luke was a muddy mess in the white halls and he stuck out like a sore thumb. I hope he’s not all clean and pressed. Here’s hoping but I doubt he’ll look messy.

I have also been comparing the collar on Luke’s fatigue jacket to movie stills, and the collar on the figure does seem a bit large…Luke’s jacket has more of a “mandarin” type collar as seen on Modern US Army Uniforms. I love this figure, and I will get it regardless of the inaccurate collar, but please Sideshow, fix this problem…I know that only SW geeks would notice such a thing, but adjusting that collar would make the figure more film accurate and even more perfect!

Cool! Bespin Luke. Accessory pack to be an inclusive, seperate offering that includes Burnt, cauterized stump,alternate headscuplt reflecting facial expression reaction to “Luke, I am your father”, battle worn outfit, backpack and non exploding Dagobah Vader/Luke helmet. What did I leave out other than interchangable monkey arms? If 2 small characters from LOTR = 2 pack does Chewbacca and Yoda? A Yoda portrait from his 1st run in with Dooku would be awesome as would that when he encountered The Emperor.
My daughter just made a comment that exemplifies my final complaint with Sideshow. It is a minor one and that is why I am not vocal about it. It is easy to correct. My 6-year-old daughter’s quote was: “I hope they make his lightsaber straight”.
Fantastic figure, I just hope there will be an exclusive.

In responce To Ed B: Those of us who read your “Ask Sideshow” answers a while back will know you were asked to give us another clue about what S.W. figures might be up in the future you Hinted that you will be Doing Vader And Stormtroopers. You also said you would not rush Vader and wanted him to be perfect which is something most Collectors will appreciate.
The Luke will be fine, as long as the head sculpt looks like the actor. Why can’t we be given a good view of the head now? Also, Sideshow, ever heard of Darth Vader, or Boba Fett or a Stormtrooper? These are major characters in a movie series called “Star Wars” and these characters have tons of adult fans eagerly waiting to plunk down $60 bucks for a new 12″ version. Would you like their money?
This does seem to be a step in the right direction after the last Luke that Sideshow released. Let’s just hope that they can keep the paint apps from going all wonky during production this time.
I can’t wait to see more pics of this one, and I know I will be trying my hardest to get one.
Maybe we will also see a Sideshow Sandtrooper one day…But we must have a Sideshow Vader, and soon…Rebel Commander Luke in my humble opinion is the coolest figure yet, The uniform looks astounding!!! The body even looks more proportional. The face sculpt is spot on!!! The weathering on the pistol belt is outstanding…I must get two of these, one for display and one to customize. It would be neat if he came wih a distressed alternate head and scorched stump…a backpack would be nice…just rambling because of the excitment….
I thought I read a long time ago when Obi Wan was announced as well as Anakin, you guys said something about making figures that had conflict with each other. So can we hope now for a long over due Darth Vader? With exclusive metal boxes to force throw at Bespin Luke? I hope so!

I’d like to know if he’ll have the hand stump like Mace Windu came with. Maybe just slightly burnt. Of course if he does we’ll be needing a Vader to hack that puppy off. This is of my subtle way of saying you guys need to make Vader…. K? Ok.

I dont mind another Luke because this figure has fan appeal because Luke was active when her wore the Bespin fatigues. (The decision to do a Yavin Luke was just as boring as releasing Luke as a moisture farmer. no offense) This is a great direction.
I can already see the customizers getting creative with this one. (tea stained clothes for weathered look, facial scar paint, muddy boots… bring it on!!

I got so worked up I got out my Christopher Cross “LP” and enjoyed a listen; taking me back to 1980, waiting in line, opening night for ESB. Honestly Sideshow, you rule…Now a Sideshow Darth Vader, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The world is ready for it!!! Or a Hoth outfit for Han, or a Rebel Hoth Trooper, or an Imperial Snowtrooper!!!
I’m I incorrect hearing at the Sideshow Panel during CIV, that the next two 1/6 scale figures would be from the prequels, but now I see that we have Bespin Luke? Did I have earwax in my ears or was I day dreaming? I still think that a Lando in disguise from the Jabba The Hutt scene would’ve been nicer, and completed that set; because we’ll never see a Slave Leia.
I really ENJOY the scupt of the faces of these 12 inch doll SIDESHOW is putting out, especially the LUKE SKYWALKER’S I have the Jedi (Return of the Jedi) version and i’m looking forward on getting this one as well…

Now my Han will have company. I like the Yoda/backpack idea. If I remember correctly didn’t I see a “DEAD” figure in a Hoth outfit in the C-4 gallery. Wonder what the exclusive/inclusive will be?
Looks good so far, saber looks downright amazing in its 1:6th authenticity. Hopefully we get a better look at the head soon, that’s what makes or breaks any figure, especially one as iconic as Luke Bespin – THE action Luke for most fans. So far, that little preview looks promising.
But the costume has some issues at this stage: the pockets are way too high, the color’s not there yet, the belt’s undersized, and the collar doesn’t appear to be folded up. Also, I know the original costume’s jacket is a little high-waisted and the SSC 12″ body is short in the torso, but I really hope this doesn’t end up as short as Han Bespin’s bolero-length jacket, that didn’t look right.

Nicely done Sideshow. Now all I need is a Yoda with Backpack to complete the set. Or, just the backpack and I’ll use Medicom’s nifty little green friend instead.
I just love the announcement of the Bespin Luke figure because of all the possible accessories that could be included with this figure. Besides his lightsaber and blaster you have the possibility of alternate head sculpts, clean and damaged clothing, a severed hand stump, and if you decide to include things from Dagobah there’s his training outfit, backpack, and damaged Vader helmet. Whatever you guys decide to put in it I know it will be high quality and represnt the figure well. See ya on 8/10 Sideshow.
I REALLY HOPE SIDESHOW READS THESE COMMENTS! I’ve seen plenty of comments on this thread already that say what I think. If Sideshow can only crank out one character per month or so, then instead of repeating characters, give us one of the others. Use your profits and tool up a Darth, a Fett and some Troopers… NOW. When you do, I’ll give you my money. Until then, it stays in my bank.

We DO need a Tatooine Luke though… I mean, that is pretty much the Iconic movie character/version. The X-Wing, Hoth etc, can wait, while other characters are released.
I’ve been waiting YEARS for a good… no a great 12″ Bespin Luke. So far looks good to me. I just hope it doesn’t have the monkey arms that Jedi Luke had.
I think they should have waited awhile before giving us another Luke. Spread them out a bit. Anyway here’s hoping for soemthing super exciting at SDCC. I am hoping for another large scale character like last year’s Jabba announcement. A Wampa would be awesome, was never happy with Hasbro’s version.

Patience, for even a Jedi there is time to get that most sought after collectible.
That’s a really nice likeness. I’m really appreciative of the different sculpts that reflect the effect of aging and different haircuts on the actors. I think this figure definitely requires an alternate head in which Luke is freaking out. What else? A bloody stump for hand, for certain. Perhaps the exploded Vader mask with luke head inside from Dagobah? Hmmm. I like to imagine that all of the Sideshow employees gather around their computer screens and laugh at these comments instead of reading them and shaking their heads while pitying your customers.
How boring… It’s Luke. Again. Why, when there are still so many other interesting Star Wars characters to make? Doesn’t the licence cover ALL the characters from the Star Wars Universe? Disappointing. A BESPIN Lando would have been more interesting. Nobody said I should be a completist for this line, but I can hear somebody shouting “Stop being a completist”.

As far as releasing too many Luke’s in a row… what does it matter really? Get all the Lukes out of the way so we can move on to others! We really only have, what 3 versions of Luke left? X-Wing Pilot (with an extra Hoth jacket for the exclusive would be sweet!); Farm boy Luke (blech, boring!); Hoth Luke (with a Wampa-munched face for the exclusive!).
Then maybe we can get some others out! Hoth Han, Bespin Leia, Boba Fett… Hell, I’ll even take Jango! Just leep ‘em comin’!

I dont usually buy more than one of a character in a various outfit but have a seperate arm severed and an arm with a hatch that opens and closes and a medical kit to cover the stump and i’m there!!!
You guys keep letting me have the figures I want. First you released Boushh as the first Leia, then you released Asajj Ventress instead of Padme, you released Plo Koon, my favorite jedi, and now, the absolute best incarnation of Luke Skywalker. Can I have a Darth Vader now?

Nothing against Bespin Luke, but where’s Kir Kanos, or Snowbunny Padme already?
All I can say is that I can’t wait! Just don’t keep us waiting for a year on this one Sideshow. This one looks like a homerun for sure.
I’m very very very excited about this figure! From what I see, it looks amazing. The sculpt is great. Can’t wait to see what else Sideshow has in store!
With the exception of ROTS Obi-Wan and Jedi Luke, I usually don’t purchase more than one of the characters, but I’ll need at least 2 Bespin Luke’s for “weatherizing”! I mean, I wouldn’t complain at all if 2 seperate head sculpts were included. Raise the price, whatever! Really, from the time Luke arrives on Bespin to the time he’s carried out, it looks like he’d been put through a meat grinder! And from what I can tell, you’re really getting 2 different versions of Luke because I think he’s got the Dagobah “wife beater” on underneath his pocket shirt.

At last! Now we can all scream for Lando! I’ll admit 3 Luke Skywalker’s are a bit much for what I think is still very early in the line. There are so many good characters to cover, there hasn’t been one of these figures that has let me down yet.
I am sure of two things with this announcement: 1.) people will complain that SSC has “hasbro-ed” the line by releasing too many of one character when there are other main characters missing and 2.) I could really care less what they think because Bespin Luke has always been the best version of Luke IMHO. The facial sculpt and outfit look good from the tiny preview … but I must reserve final judgment til we get full pics.
this is the best incarnation of luke, let’s hope we get more cloud city characters!
