PLACING A PRE-ORDER
How do I place an order?
All of our Comic-Con Exclusive items will be Priority Pre-Ordering first to Sideshow Newsletter members who will be attending the Comic-Con show (Attendees). If any items remain available for purchase after the newsletter member pre-ordering window, then these will be offered to non-newsletter members who are attending Comic-Con. Please make sure to read the information on how to qualify for these special ordering events here. At the time of Priority Pre-Order, you can place your pre-order online at www.SideshowCollectibles.com or over the phone at 1-855-SIDESHOW or 1-805-214-2134. We recommend using the online system as it is usually faster, allowing collectors who do not have internet access the opportunity to reach us via phone.
A schedule has been posted on our 2011 Comic-Con Exclusives Announcement Page, with the dates and times that our Comic-Con Exclusive items will begin Priority Pre-Ordering. There will also be product available for those collectors not attending the show (Non-Attendees) to purchase. Products will be offered for Priority Pre-Order on different days (for Attendees and Non-Attendees) to avoid any confusion or mis-ordering of product. How can I pay for it?
You will need to reserve (or "pre-order") an item with a credit card in your own name, with either Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or American Express credit cards. If you would like to pay for your order/collectible with a Money Order (U.S. funds only), we must receive your payment in our office by July 1st, 2011. Please include your complete name and address information and your order number, which will be available in the account history area of your Online User Account. Please make sure to include 8.75% CA state and city sales tax on ALL orders, because the final transaction as well as product pick up is occurring in San Diego, California, and therefore requires collection of California state and city taxes.
We apologize that we cannot accept personal checks for these items, due to the clearance time for this payment method.
Can I order multiples?
You will only be allowed to purchase one (1) of each exclusive item. (1 per customer, household, credit card, user account, e-mail address, billing address and/or shipping address. Choose either Attendee or Non-Attendee, not both.) All phone orders and online orders will be compared before the show, and multiple orders for the same items will be automatically cancelled without further notice. Any customers placing orders through multiple accounts will have excess orders canceled at the time of processing and will NOT be notified.
Your site is telling me I have already purchased this item, but I haven't?
The exclusive items have a limit of one (1) item per customer, household, credit card, user account, e-mail address, billing address, and/or shipping address. If you are receiving this message, then you have already ordered your limit of this item, or someone who shares your household, credit card, billing address or e-mail address has already placed an order for the same item, or you have already placed a pre-order for a Non-Attendee edition of the same item.Please contact our Customer Service Department if you have any questions.
I have a coupon / Sideshow Rewards points. Can I use it on these items?
Due to the very limited and unique nature of these items, coupons, Gift Cards and Sideshow Rewards points cannot be redeemed on Comic-Con Exclusives. If the system does allow a coupon / Sideshow Rewards or any other discount, please note that any discount will be removed prior to processing your order. (Please be assured that Reward Points will still be EARNED for all orders.)
I was charged California sales tax. Why?
All Attendee items must be picked up at the Comic-Con show, which is located in San Diego, California. All transactions completed and picked up at the Convention are applicable for 8.75% CA state and city sales tax, regardless of which state or city you live in.
Can I place an order to pick up at the show, and also place an order for Non-Attendee product?
No, you can only place an order in one section or the other. If you place an order for product available to Comic-Con Attendees, then any order you have placed for Non-Attendee product will be canceled immediately without further notification. Both lists are compared prior to the show.
Can I place an order to pick up at the show and have someone else pick it up for me?
You can place an order to pick up at the show, but you must pick it up yourself. You will need to provide your invoice as well as a picture ID (with information that matches the invoice) before we will release the product to you. No exceptions.
I have gone to the ordering page but the listing says sold out?
There are very limited quantities of these pieces. If the ordering page is stating the item is sold out, then we have no more items available to sell to Comic-Con Attendees. There may or may not be a Non-Attendee Wait List available.
Will I get Sideshow Rewards for items I pre-order or purchase AT the show?
Current Sideshow online account holders can earn Rewards Points from items that they pre-order physically at the show or in-stock items ordered at the show that they have shipped from our corporate office. Items that are purchased and taken with them at the show will not earn Rewards Points, but customers will take advantage of show prices that include sales tax and no shipping fees from these purchases. If they do not have an online account, they will need to create one before the last day of Comic-Con (Sunday, July 24th, 2011) to have their Comic-con pre-orders / in-stock orders (shipping from corporate) qualify for Rewards Points.
ORDER CONFIRMATIONS & FINAL INVOICES
I received an order confirmation e-mail after I placed my order. Do I bring this with me?
No. You will receive a final invoice via e-mail at the time your payment method is processed. You must bring this invoice with you, along with your photo ID. The person who places the order must be the one to pick up the product! Unless there is a unique situation and you have pre-arranged it with us, we will not be releasing product to your friend, mother, cousin, husband, wife, online or news board member friend, etc. No exceptions!
I received a final invoice but it also stated my product was shipped. My online account even states that it has been shipped!
Please do not panic! We ship most of our products after they are invoiced, thus this e-mail as well as the 'shipped' order status in your online account are both a part of our automated system. Any orders designated for Comic-Con pick-up will be brought to the show for you! No need to call us to check!
When will my credit card be charged for the item(s)?
Cards will begin being charged for the item(s) during the week of July 5th, 2011 and continuing through July 15th, 2011. You will be e-mailed a final invoice once your order has been processed. You must bring this invoice to the show! Please do not confuse this invoice with your order confirmation, which you received immediately after placing your pre-order with us online. You must also bring a picture ID, along with your invoice, to pick up your product!
What happens if my credit card declines?
If your payment method declines, you will be contacted via e-mail and have only two (2) days (48 hours) to contact us, during business hours Monday through Friday, with another form of payment. If we do not receive another payment method within that time frame, your order will be canceled without notification and your item(s) will be offered to a Non-Attendee Wait List member.
We will not be responsible for non-receipt of decline notices due to multiple e-mail addresses for you within our system, invalid e-mail addresses, or delays / spam blockages from your server / host / personal computer.
PICKING UP YOUR ORDER
When can I pick up my item(s)?
You can pick up your Comic-Con Exclusive(s) from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20th through Sunday, July 24th at Noon. Any orders not picked up by Noon on Sunday, July 24th will be canceled and sold, beginning at 1:30 PM on Sunday, to walk-ups at our Comic-Con store on a first come, first served basis and/or used to fulfill Non-Attendee Wait List reservations. The queue line will begin at 1:00PM sharp, no one will be allowed to line up within the booth prior to this time, in order to accommodate the other collectors who are there to view the product displays.
What do I need to bring to pick up my item(s)?
You MUST have both a photo ID and a final invoice for each item in order to pick up your exclusive item(s). Your personal information must match the information on the Sideshow invoice(s). By having these items ready when you reach our counter, you will enable us to have short lines with minimum wait times. Please make sure that you bring your invoice and NOT the order confirmation. The order confirmation is sent immediately after placing your pre-order online. The invoice is emailed to you once your payment is processed, approximately between July 5th and July 15th, 2011. You must pick the item up in-person, as we will NOT release the product to anyone else for you.
Where do I pick up my items?
Your item(s) will be available for pick-up at our store located in our booth, which will be on the main vendor floor of the San Diego Convention Center. We will have an area clearly marked for Con Exclusive item pick-up at the store. You can also ask a Sideshow representative on the floor to direct you to the store front. Please bookmark our web site and check back with us for updates, and a map of the show floor.
Can I have a friend, family member, or fellow online board member pick up my order for me?
No, not unless it is a unique situation and you have pre-arranged with us to do so prior to the show beginning. All customers must show photo ID and a final invoice. Your ID must match the name on the Sideshow invoice. We will not give the product(s) out to your Mom, Dad, sister, brother, husband, wife, cousin, good friend once removed, etc. This will be strictly enforced on the show floor.
What if I am traveling and am not home to get my invoice?
We are trying to e-mail everyone invoices by July 15th, which should be received in plenty of time before the opening of the show. Also, your hotel should have web access where you can collect your invoice(s) from your e-mail account. The convention center also should have web access and print / copy service available. You must bring your invoice(s) and photo ID with you to pick up your product(s).
I have placed an order but can't get to the show. Can you ship it to me afterwards?
Unfortunately, we cannot do this, as this is one of the major ways that people try to get around our ordering specifications. Any Attendee orders not picked up at the show will be automatically canceled without further notification, and the purchase price will be refunded to the collector. If you also placed an order for Non-Attendee product, this order will have already been canceled, as we inspect and compare both Attendee and Non-Attendee order lists prior to the show. Remember there is a limit of one (1) piece per customer. When in doubt about show attendance, place your pre-order for a Non-Attendee exclusive!
What if I get back to my home/hotel and my item is damaged?
No problem, you can call or e-mail our returns department and we will assist you in an exchange. Please do not bring the item back to the show as we have only brought one item per person who placed an attendee order. When will we know what Sideshow's exclusives are?
Sideshow Collectibles will currently be offering four (4) Comic-Con Exclusives for 2011, representing a few of our many popular licenses. You can view this list through on our 2011 Comic-Con Exclusives Announcement right now, along with Priority Pre-Order schedules for each Exclusive. Please note: we may also be offering one or more Con Exclusives from our distribution partners. If so, we will be making that announcement at a later date. Stay tuned!
When can we pre-order the Con Exclusives?
The Sideshow Comic-Con Exclusives will be offered for Priority Pre-Order beginning in mid-May. A schedule of pre-order dates and times has been made available to collectors through our 2011 Comic-Con Exclusives Announcement
Are these pieces numbered?
1:6th Scale / 12-inch and smaller figures are not numbered. Polystone items are generally, but not always, numbered with the specific edition number on the bottom of their display bases.
I want a specific edition number. How can I get it?
We do not guarantee that customers will receive specific edition numbers. The edition numbers will be given out at random to customers attending the show and not in any numerical order. We will NOT exchange higher edition numbered pieces for lower numbered items on the show floor (so please do not ask).
What are the edition sizes for the Comic-Con Exclusives and what kind of accessories do they come with?
