By now, you’ve probably read the news clips and fan speculation on the disappearance of Rube Thompson. His curiosity in cemeteries is what led to this missing persons case. What we know is that Thompson left the tour bus on a scheduled stop for petrol. His bandmates reported that they were low on alcohol and cigarettes, and Thompson volunteered to go pick up the items.

When he didn’t return in a reasonable amount of time, the band went looking for him. They checked the rest area and convenience store, until the band manager saw the cemetery and they walked over for a look. After a short walk, they came across one of his sneakers and a broken bottle of the liquor Thompson was drinking. There was also a small pool of blood on the ground. The authorities were then notified.

At first light, a few more clues were found. First, there were a number of footprints leading up to Thompson’s shoe position in the cemetery. Authorities have reported what looks like a set of drag marks, but that has yet been determined.

Dug up and vandalized grave sites were discovered not far from the shoe along with a single tooth. There’s nothing on scene that says he’s been killed, however it cannot be ruled out.

While trying to familiarize myself with the Rabid Weasels a bit, I discovered this video posted on on of the forums. I suspect it’s one fan’s idea of what they believed happened to Rube.
