I’m trying to place an order for the regular one through the comicshop I usually go through to get stuff from Sideshow , but can’t seem to get a hold of him. I hope I can place an order with them soon before it sells out.

HERE’S MY IDEA ON HOW THIS DIORAMA WOULD LOOK.
THERE WOULD BE THE TORSO OF THE SENTINEL FROM THE WAIST UP POSTIONED IN AN UPRIGHT POSTION, WOLVERINE STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE SENTINEL WHERE THE HEAD HAD BEEN SLICED OFF, WIRES STICKING OUT OF THE NECK, WITH THE END LIGHTING UP WOLVERINES POSE WOULD BE SLIGHT CROUCHED WITH ARMS TO THE SIDE LIKE HE’S ABOUT TO DO A CHEST POSE LIKE BODYBUILDERS DO WHEN THEY’RE ABOUT TO FLEX THEIR CHEST,WOLVERINE WITH A GROWL EXPRESSION & KITTY PHASING THROUGH THE SENTINELS CHEST COMING THROUGH THE LIT UP CENTRE PORTION. THE SENTINELS BODY WOULD BE SCRATCHED & BANGED UP. IN A NUT SHELL THAT’S MY IDEA.
WE WANT LIGHTS!!!! That makes it a true exclusive. Not logan with a wife beater tank top. Original one looks way better to me. You guys should get rid of that exclusive one and put some lights on the top part of the boot(were wolverine is standing) also how about some arm hair. What? wolverine decided to shave his arms or something? I would say this is the worst one of the 3. you should see this because they are not sold out yet, not even the exclusive one.

i wish it had a light up feature but seeing as its just a boot that they got down to i can forgive them
Man. i think im going to have to cancell my order for the exclusive. The more I look at it and compare it to the one they photoshoped online, the more I am disappointed. They have taken more time with it and not remove the light fetures. The wife beater tank top does not look good at all. $300 is just to much. Just start over and add some lights and change wolverines pose. it looks to similar to the pose beast has in the dio 2.
Looks like the exclusive does indeed come with both versions of Wolvie. I am a little disappointed that it doesn’t have a light up feature but I look forward to adding this to my collection. I have already place my order.
Ok thye won. I bought the exclusive. That logan will never get displayed but at least I will have the exclusive line all the way through. Still sucks that there are no lights but 20 bucks more is a price i will pay happily

Now if the exclusive does come with both versions of wolverine I will buy it. that I could accept. Still sucks that it doesn’t light up but I guess I could survive with a bonus logan sitting in the box and the limited number deal. Would make the set better.
From what I gather it should go up for sale soon. Tonite or tomorrow.

Don’t want to keep ranting, but I just realized that Wolverine’s body pose is almost identical,(with a few minor changes), to that of Beast in diorama #2!!!??? Why? Why? Why? Sideshow, you are way more than a one trick pony, so cut the wild horses loose, & give us out-of-this-world variations on the theme!!!!
You guys could not have picked a better sculpting team than Gore-group for this Marvel vs series, but the movement & dynamic aspects of the pieces MUST BE ADDRESSED! Right now, there is too much conventional posing & posturing, & simply not enough ALL_OUT_ACTION!!!
Raise the bar, & we will scratch & claw to follow.
Both versions? Won’t the exclusive version have both Wolverines, like the FF diorama had two Invisible Woman sculpts????? I hope there are two Wolverines that we can swap out with the exclusive!
I JUST SAW PICS OF BOTH VERSIONS OF THIS DIORAMA & I’VE GOT TO SAY I LIKE THEM BOTH EQUALLY & AM CONSIDERING GETTING BOTH VERSIONS.
You guys did an exceptional job on the regular version of this diorama…but, the exclusive version is a bit watered down. I know that you guys are releasing a product that you are happy with and I also know that you will not please everyone all of the time. So, I say…just purchase the version that appeals to you and if you don’t like either version then wait for the next diorama to be released. I like the regular version better so that is the one that I will be purchasing.
Is it possible to get you guys to do a Juggernaut statue or diorama in the future?
I hear a lot of negativity, but I’m still excited for this piece. Thanks Sideshow!
I posted yesterday about not hesitating to buy this piece. I stated I would be anxiously awaiting to pre-order this. Having now seen pictures of the prototype I’m on the polar opposite end. I will still pre-order this in hopes that several things will change between the proto and the actual piece. Sideshow…please stay consistent with what you did in the past for the exclusives. Please paint this statue so that it is consistent with the control art (Astonishing X-men issues). Heck, you could even contact Laura Martin, the colorist on AXM, and ask her what you should use. I’m just sorely disappointed with how this turned out. It really was working towards being one of your two best statues you’ve made. It had the potential. I just think you missed that mark by a wide margin.
I can’t wait to order this beauty!
With all the other X-Men in costume, the Logan in the t-shirt makes no sense as an exclusive. I’m really going to be upset if the exclusive does have a light now, because then it’s either get the lights with a Logan that doesn’t mesh with the team, or a Wolverine in proper uniform with no lights. Hopefully the fans are listened to here and we get a 3rd diorama that’s up to par with the other 2.
First off, the pics were shown in Sideshow’s production blog. Can’t believe you guys think they are posted at another website before Sideshow would post them. Anyway…
If you don’t like it, don’t buy it! I love it and will definitely be glad this as my third diorama in the series. Thanks Sideshow!
And Darren, ‘economic times?’ Unemployment is the lowest its ever been, the stock market is the highest its ever been, interest rates are excessively low, the economy grows ever quarter…i could go on. This is one of the best economies of all time! But hey, if you are worried about it, just don’t buy it. More for the rest of us!
Sideshow/Goregroup, why are you constantly depicting these SUPER heros/villians in such static poses? A series which is supposed to be highlighting Marvels’ greatest battles is falling way short. This is partly due to the utter lack of movement& dynamics within these dioramas.
Instead we get another piece full of Posing & Posturing with the Wolverine/Shadowcat release, & NO LIGHTS???!!!
Just simply showcase these SUPER BEINGS actually fighting (eq; punching, zapping, kicking, flying, scrathing, screeching,blood, spittle, & of course MOVEMENT.)
Wolverine diorama would have been way better just by showing him actually in the process of ripping-up a Sentinel, with possible flashing lights highlighting Wolverine’s manic face & chest, through all the twisted metal & mayhem.
And pay a little more respect(a lot!!!)to the Super Villians, as they are always depicted cowering or defeated. It would be nice to have these dioramas showcase an ALL_OUT ACTION PACKED BATTLE, (yes, with movement!), between two super foes, with the outcome hanging in the balance!
And please depict the characters greatest strengths, as Capt. America tossing his shield, rather than weilding it like an oversized dinner plate. Or not showing Hulk throwing a punch, or even making a fist? WOW!
I agree with Darren. After seeing the complete pics, the exclusive is a tragedy. No lights? Wolverine in a white shirt? Kitty’s costume looks like the old Goldust getup from the WWE. The regular edition waaaaaay outshines the exclusive in this case. Please don’t head down that road of “people will buy whatever we put out because it’s labeled ‘exclusive’!” … Others have fallen into that trap and they’re no longer around to tell the tale. People have come to expect better from you and time has proven they’re willing to pay for it. Don’t start giving us a reason to close our wallets especially in these economic times.
No, for the love of GOD NO!! I never thought possible that this statue could be so bad, no lights, horrible exclusive. Why would the regular version look better than the exclusive? No lights? Sideshow you need to fix this. You could sell it and it would probably sell out, but you will lose a lot of respect. The original statue from this line and Doctor Doom made Marvel fans and comic book fans of all sorts drool and you earned their loyalty. This has the exact opposite affect. Please fix the color on kitty, put some lights in the statue as the other two exclusives, it will not look right having one statue from a set of three without lights. Exclusive=lights. I can live with a smaller statue if you add the lights and change the color of Kitty’s outfit and leave wolverine in costume, not a lame tank top. It could use a lot more work, but those changes would help save this statue. Please if you are ever to listen to the fans, do it this one time, please!!!!!

the sneak peek of the 3rd dio in Statue Forum better not be the real one because the exclusive is really disappointing. truly a lack of art direction for the exclusive. no lights on the Sentinel boot? wolverine in a laundry fresh undershirt after a hard fought battle? it doesn’t live up to the expectations we had given the 1st two dios.
Hey Sideshow! First, I want to say that I love what you guys have produced in the past. I have practically every VS diorama produced.
I’m on the waitlist for X-men vs Sentinel Excl. #2 and pre-ordered Thor vs Loki. I’m also a member of http://www.statueforum.org.
We caught a glimpse of X-men vs Sentinel #3 and had a couple of thoughts/concerns about this next piece. Basically, as fans of Marvel comics and of Sideshow, we were slightly disappointed at the layout for this next piece. Firstly, we are under the impression that this third exclusive will not include lights. Is it safe to assume that this is the case? Why make such a decision when the two predecessors included such an amazing feature? Additionally, one of the other members was dabbling with photoshop and “re-invented” the design of the piece. We are hoping that you might re-evaluate the layout and go back to the drawing boards. If you would like to see what has been done, please visit the site. Thank you for caring about your customers!

Wow..ok it is just wrong for a regular version to be better than an exclusive. And no lights?? Looks like a reg is making its way into my collection of exclusives…if I manage the exclusive part 2

I THINK THIS IS THE END FOR THIS LINE AS THEY ARE THE MAIN X-MEN CHARACTERS IN THE ASTONISHING X-MEN. THAT IS NOT TO SAY THAT THERE ISN’T A POSSIBILTY OF MORE X-MEN DIORAMAS.
THERE ARE OTHER TEAMS, CHARACTERS IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE. PERSONALLY I THINK THERE IS MORE TO COME LIKE THE FANTASTIC FOUR, THE AVENGERS, THE BROTHERHOOD YOU GET THE IDEA.
I’M GLAD I FOUND OUT ABOUT SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES, BECAUSE I NOW HAVE SOME GREAT PIECES OF ART ON DISPLAY.
Was really looking forward to this statue. Just saw the full pics on the forums and I must say I’m disappointed. One because there are no lights for the exclusive so it doesn’t match with the others of the series, and two because somehow it was ok to get rid of the lights as an exclusive and put Wolverine in a wife beater tank top instead? This is sad.

This piece is going to be AWESOME. I will preo-order the minute it goes up. I too wish they would continue this line. As it represents the characters as portrayed in Astonishing X-men (the BEST comic book read out there) I think a #4 with Danger and Ord on it…possibly a little higher and make it look like a Sentinel Hand is carrying them or something. I would be all over that like maggots at a dump.

ANOTHER AWESOME IDEA COME TO LIFE— I READ THE COMMENTS ABOVE AND I WISH VIEWERS WOULD THINK AND DO A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING COMMENTS— WOLVERINE IS A FIREPLUG AND IT HAS BEEN NOTED COUNTLESS TIMES THAT HE IS AROUND- 5 FOOT THREE INCHES TALL—- THE ARTISTS AT SIDESHOW KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING ( I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE STATUE THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES TOO— THAT WAS THE SPIDERMAN VS VENOM( THE DESIGN AND DETAILS ARE INCREDIBLE-IT JUST SHOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER IN SIZE ( THE POSE AND MUSCULATURE WERE AS CLOSE TO A “REAL” MUSEUM PEICE OF ART AS I HAVE SEEN TO THIS DATE FROM THEM )
From what I have read and heard around the rumor mill that this is a 3rd of 3..but I too would love to see the line go on. The prof wouldn’t fit though as he kinda isn’t on the team just now. The tripletts would be interesting but not sure if they would go outside to students. Hard to say who they might pick if a 4th comes into existance.
All I know is I am proud to one day own the set. Still fingers crossed I got in early enough for the exclusive of number 2.

Awesome. Just another item I need to add to my collection. I have the first, on the waiting list for the second. You can bet I will be ordering this one on the day it’s released. Any chance of adding more of the X-Men series? Would love to see Gambit, Psylocke, Rogue or Havok.
From this picture I already see a few things wrong it. Wolverine’s claws are too short and his legs are too big.

Not only does the Wolverine/Shadowcat combo make sense from the Joss storyline standpoint, it was also the original combo that gave rise to the movie Wolverine/Rogue relationship. In the comic books Wolverine shared that “big brother/father/?” type of relationship with Kitty Pryde. I’m digging this statue more than the others.

Those of you who are howling about how it should have been Storm, Jean, Rogue or some other mutant with Wolverine in this diorama need to get a clue. This line is based on the Astonishing X-Men comic series by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. Therefore, only characters from Astonishing X-Men should be used. Jeez.
By the way, this line is OUTSTANDING!

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW COMICBOOK ART HAS EVOLVED. IT IS AS THOUGH THEY ARE A PANEL FROM YOUR FAVOURITE COMICBOOK OR MOVIE RIPPED OUT FORM IT’S PAGES & BROUGHT TO LIFE, BY SOME SERIOUS TALENT.
SIDESHOW OBVIOUSLY HAS THE RIGHT FORMULA FOR SUCCESS WITH EVERY PIECE THEY PUT OUT & IT’S GREAT FOR COLLECTORS SUCH AS MYSELF.

Shadowcat?! Not Storm, not Jean, not Rogue. Shadowcat?! Are you kidding me?! Who’s next, Morph and Marrow?! Give me a break guys. Nothing against Kitty, but including her at this point, bypassing the likes of Storm, Jean and Rogue, is a slap in the face to all X-Men fans. Storm, Jean and Rogue aren’t secondary characters you know. How much longer are you going to keep us waiting? Do we have to sit thru a Thunderbird and Banshee edition too?!

The anticipation is kiilin’ me! THis series is one of Sideshows’ best yet. I don’t think the claws are too short, but Wolvie does need some armhair (like the Comiquette).
I don’t think his claws are all that short. Keep in mind that his hand is open and his fingers are extended (rather than the typically closed fist poses of Wolverine). His claws extend only about 5 or 6 inches past his fingertips. That’s about what Sideshow has here. Also, his hand is in a three-dimensional grasping pose which affects the perspective of length of the blades. I say hold off criticism about the length of the claws until we see more pictures (hopefully with the other hand closed in a fist).
The third X-Men vs. Sentinel Diorama looks good…too bad I cancelled my Beast/Emma Frost X-Men vs. Sentinel diorama this week; at least someone on the wait list will be happy. Why did I do such a crazy thing and cancel, you ask? Because I wasn’t able to pick up the first diorama featuring Cyclops and Colossus. I actually had to cancel that one too. 2005 was a topsy-turvy year for me; while I was blessed with the birth of my first daughter, I was also out of work for five months that year. In 2005 ALONE I had to cancel the following pre-orders: X-Men vs. Sentinel Exclusive Diorama #1; Wolverine Vs. Sabretooth Exclusive Diorama; Dr. Doom Exclusive Premium Format; Darth Vader Exclusive Premium Format; Obi-Wan Kenobi Exclusive Premium Format; and General Grievous Premium Format. With the limited funds I had, I had to focus on my Lord of the Rings collection. I especially regret passing on Doom and the first X-Men vs. Sentinel diorama. Well, since I can’t have all three and complete the collection (I refuse to pay the inflated prices on eBay), I’d rather have none.

Wolverine’s Claws are too short, but other than that I think it will be another amazing piece.

Awsome!! Can’t wait to see the final product. I hope there are more lights on this piece than the last Sentinel vs.X-Men statue(more like the first statue). Also, do you think that there is a chance that you will ever make a full size Sentinel with lights. If you look at the other 2 statues, Cyclops is shooting his beam at, I assume, another Sentinal. And Emma is flying toward another and obviously, with this many X-men, they should be fighting more than one Sentinel.
