The Macabre Mistress of the Dark Haunts Sideshow Collectibles
Thousand Oaks, California (October, 2007) - World-renowned manufacturer of licensed and proprietary product Sideshow Collectibles has signed to create a new line of products based on the famed Elvira character. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark was originally created to host a local Los Angeles TV show in 1981, introducing the horror movie of the evening and poking fun at the film throughout its broadcast. Her feature film Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, released in 1988, earned her the Saturn Award for Best Actress from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, and the Elvira Halloween costume has notably become one of the best selling women's costumes in history. Sideshow's license includes rights for Elvira Statues, Maquettes, and Premium Format Figures with detailed clothing and accessories.
About Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
With her trademark raven-black hair and plunging floor-length evening gown, Elvira climbed from the crypt into cult status in the early 1980s as the hostess of the weekly horror-movie series "Elvira's Movie Macabre." The Elvira persona, however, quickly outgrew the show, spinning off into dozens of movies, TV appearances, and even comic books throughout the 80s and 90s, inspiring merchandising ranging from perfume to pinball machines. More recently, Elvira has become the unofficial spokesperson for "Halloween" writ large, keeping her in high demand for public appearances, TV interview and product promotions. When she's not busy entertaining fans, Elvira lends her fame and talent to a range of good causes, including safe-driving initiatives like "Take the Pledge to Slow Down."

I love Elvira. I am only bothered by the words made in china on the box. Is Elvira made in china or just the box?
where can I buy a decent replica of Elvira’s Ruby Ring?
I’ve not seen a Sideshow Elvira statue other than in pictures, but the 7″ Elvira figure put out by Amok Time is excellent–check it out. The Sideshow images I’ve seen look very good, Elvira herself would be pleased.
thank you very much for for very thing as meaning as your good programs alam rafiee. 1028 morning january 30th 2009.
thanks for every thing as your good programs meaning is.alam rafiee. 10 18 morning january 30th 2009.
thanks for your programs.
AWESOME!!! Okay, SS…WHEN are we gonna see a PF statue?!?
If they do a laser 3D model scan of Cassandra’s head and bust wearing the Elvira bra, they can recreate her identically. But the issue is painting the eye make-up on right. The Elvira make-up is probably the hardest design to get right, and if it’s not done right it won’t look like Elvira at all. I hope they realize the Elvira fans will want all the accessories too, ruby tipped jeweled dagger, front folded leather belt with black leather loop and gold handle clasp, ruby ring, studded leather bracelets, silver snake earrings and rooted hair. If they get all that right, and nail the make-up I’d pay in upwards of $500 for it.
WARNING! If you can’t do her justice don’t do her! Many have tried and failed. I’d hate to see SIDESHOW lose the SUPERBOWL!
A GODDESS!!!
Well, guess we can safely rule out any mini busts.
I’m looking forward to Elvira’s Licensed Products!. I have been a fan of Cassandra Petterson (Elvira) since I first saw her back in the early 80′s.
This is Great News!! I adore Elvira shes just so perky!
Wow I will definitely have to check this line out. I grew up watching Elvira on Television and can’t wait to see what this line will look like!
I cant wait to see these. I love Elvira.
I believe if Sideshow adds life like locks to Elvira, (as in premium DOLLS) it will both honor Elvira and enliven the Maquette.
That, along with the dress she made so famous, will make for one spectacular production.
Think about it SIDESHOW!
Dustime
Yes! Yes! Yes! The 1/6 scale “articulated” model with ROOTED HAIR would be EXACTLY what I want also!!!
Great, now I’m gonna hve to get another job to pay for all the Elvira merch! Please let there be a premium format!
I have only one question;… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WILL THERE BE A 1/6 SCALE VERSION WITH ROOTED HAIR?
I have only one question;… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WILL THERE BE A 1/6 SCALE VERSION WITH ROOTED HAIR?
YEA! Ive loved Elvira since her beginning! I cant wait to see..PLEASE be sure they do a great likeness, and watch out for “too dark” antiquing(dont know what youcall it, shading) SOME of the prems and 12″ are TO dark “brown” shading…give her the ruby red lips, and OH JUST be sure its a great likeness! And I too BEG FOR A 12″ VERSION…thanks
THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! I HOPE YOU WILL CONSIDER A COMPLETELY POSABLE 11-1/2-INCH OR 12-INCH FIGURE OF ELVIRA LIKE YOU DID WITH THE UNIVERSAL MONSTERS AND SO MANY OTHERS. I’VE WANTED AN ELVIRA LIKE THAT FOR YEARS, AND JUST THIS PAST MONTH STARTED TRYING TO CREATE ONE BY DOING A MAKEOVER OF A POSABLE BARBIE DOLL. THIS WILL SAVE ME THE TROUBLE IF YOU CREATE ONE. AND I CAN’T THINK OF ANYONE BETTER THAN SIDESHOW TO DO THIS EITHER!!!
It will be Great for a 12″ Elvira and maybe a 12″ of the New Elvira, April. I voted many time for April, she the Best!
Please consider an actual 12″ figure of Elvira aside from the PF statue.
This is awesome news!
FINALLY………I told Sideshow years ago to do this they finally came thru thanks Group
Wow first indiana Jones License now elvira! Way to go sideshow! Sideshow is becoming the Best collectable company out there!
Yummy………………
Now, THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about!! Statues, maquettes and PF figures – something for everyone in the family! (I’d go on, but my wife is walking this way…)
This is great news, Elvira deserves the attention. Not that Vampira is not to be discounted (actually, I think, Sideshow should do Elvira, Vampira and Vampirella and all the vamps. The more vamps the better; how about the vamp next door). A bit carried away, yes but, when you been bitten once, you are never the same.
SSC couldn’t have picked a better time to announce their procurement of the Elvira license. This woman is solely responsible for the hospitalization of dehydrated 13 year old male (and a few female) horror buffs the world over!
Fantastic! Please do a ‘Premium’ of that picture you have of Elvira! I’ll sign up and pay for her now! Oh yeah, like ‘Angelus’ says….I’m waiting for that ‘Premium’ sculpt of ‘The Creature’ too! Also, how about a ‘Premium’ sculpt of the Karloff ‘Mummy’ minus the sarcophagus? So he matches all the rest of the ‘Universal’ Monsters I’ve bought from you. Keep ‘em coming! Did I mention ‘Premium’ size? Thanks for your time. Steve
Make the Statue look like the above photo. and capture the likeness and this will be one awesome statue! Hope they sculpt the hair instead of doing what they did with Elektra.
Dark breasts ………
Now, THAT is a cool license! Maybe this will tide me over while I wait, forever, for the Creature From the Black Lagoon PF and the Bride Silver Screen PF. Not to mention all of the pieces we’ve been asking for from the beginning (the rest of the Jason 12″, another Mike Myers 12″, and so on…).
Told you so! I knew about this at Comic Con because they had a video playing showing new licenses and products which included the Elvira-Mistress of the Dark logo. If you want to know if I can’t wait for the Premium Format figure, all I have to say is ‘does a chicken have a pecker?’.
YAY!!! You know I’m gonna have to get some ELVIRA!!!! WOOHOO!
