I enjoy the detail of the Star wars figures, but we certainly don’t need repeats before other figures have not yet had their debut. There are so many places to go with this line, so please expand it without repeating. Lando skiff gaurd, yoda episode 3, Chewbacca, Luminara Undila, Shaak Ti, & Dash Rendar to name just a few. I like these figures, but boy are they getting pricey. they have raised the price $15.00, then there is overpriced shipping. Please have a heart, we are the fans!
I am happy to get this figure. It will be the only Solo for my collection so i held out for it.
I am disappointed in the price. In 2 years these figures have gone from $49.99 to $54.99 to $59.99 and now $65. At that price I am going to be much more selective in the future.
I thought that I know everything about Star Wars, but what is the -Ford Finger-? I was just checking over at Rebelscum, and viewed the archive photos for the soon to be released “Old Ben” Kenobi, and I notice in one that he is posed with Darth Vader (only the arm, hand, cape and saber are visible) . So my question is this, did Medicom Toys make a Vader AHN or ESB version, because he is holding the ANH or ESB Lightsaber? I thought that Medicom made the ROTJ and ROTS Darth Vader only. And another thing, the lightsaber blade looks purplish red unlike the color of a SSC red lightsaber. Maybe Rebelscum is playing a trick or wishful thinking.
I got mine, can’t wait to get it!
First thing everyone needs to remember about figures and the initial images: they’re prototypes.
What I’d to know is How the heck does everyone know if something is offscale by a picture?
Finally, for the record, I have to let SS know I’m in agreement with others. Han could have waited. I’m not a completeist, because companies today have latched on to completeists and realized people will buy 30 repaints of the same figure in a 2 year period. Rehashing the same character is annoying.
Anyway, SS, there are indeed a ton of excellent unmade characters; particularly the Jedi Council and EU sith. Darths Bane, Malek, Pelagius and more. There’s droids to be made. And of course, every one is wanting a Vader and the Fetts. Since my boss bought me Vader I dont need that one. But, there are so many more to be made.
Thx SS. We know you do listen to us. Thats one reason we like you. So please, before doing any more repeats, lets get through the ones we haven’t.

Welp… just wonderful. I’m a’ be at Work today, so no PPO for me. I’ll get on the wait list, but ONLY if the exclusive accessory is worth it… hmmmm… We’ll see.

No negative, but just an observation. That head sculpt is the worst sculpt I’ve ever seen. It’s even worse than the infamous OBi Wan SIth sculpt. IT’s bad enough that I won’t be buying it, and I buy all the figures

Paul if you look they have done Bespin Han and Bespin Luke. Both of which were from Empire Strikes Back also they did a boba fett and Luke and Yoda premium format statues and both of those are from Empire Strikes back. Furthermore you have a life size bust of Boosk and Yoda both from Empire Strikes back. So if you look around you’ll see Sideshow has indeed done many items from that particular film.

Theres a breakdown for you by movie and or time period. Now I’ll be one of the first to argue for never done Characters but we must also give proper Credit when SS delivers. and Thus far they have covered all Films even Empire Strikes Back.

He finally is here. Rough and raggard. The only things that can really make him look the part are a hairy sidekick and a hunk of junk to sit in.
Nevertheless I am sure that this will make the sold out run even quicker then Han doing the Kessel Run.
Han looks great and all but when do we see Ford’s other great incarnation: Indiana Jones? It has been sixth months almost since the SDCC and nothing.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” – Not really, I just like saying that. This looks AWESOME. I’m in! How about the blaster Han chases the storm troopers with as the exclusive? This would be a great item to pose him with. It was one of my favorite scenes in the film. The medallion isn’t a good idea because Han wore a different shirt to the ceremony – but of course, the Premium Format collectors already know this.

Add a couple of backwater worlds for hiding and we got ourselves a Rebel Alliance!
Everyone is complaining that SS isnt making the figures you want, but yet I still read that alot of you who are dissappointed are still going to buy it. If you want to send a message that they may take notice to, then do not buy this figure. Force Sideshow to make the figures we are long for. If you keep buying the easy , safe remakes..they will keep on making them. I will not buy this Han. I think it is ridiculous that they have not made the most Iconic figure related to Star Wars…Vader. Followed my R2 and C3PO. And don’t get me wrong, I love Sideshow’s work…it just blows my mind that in a meeting on new figures that someone suggests another Han, and it is agreed on…feels like a definate financial decision and not one to please the customers. Fight Fire with Fire..dont buy this if you are upset..send a message.
The head does need to be a little thinner and then it is absolutly perfect. Please correct this for us and it will be the best 12″ figure out there, The PF is still miles better.

Why, ANH Han? Well, he’s cool, way cooler than Max Rebo. Sure we’ve got Han already, and in 1/4 scale, but he looks dumb next to a 12 inch figure unless you ignore the laws of perspective and put him at the back. And he is a pretty important character. Wait, no, wait a second…I DEMAND that the 3rd womp rat from the left adorns my shelf IMMEDIATELY!

This is indeed a perfect sculpt of Jim Morrison from The Doors, but why does he wear space-pirate clothing?
The photo doesn’t do it justice, I’m sure. Can’t wait to see it in person. An excellent choice on the heels of Senator Leia and Ben Kenobi. Bravo.
Best Han head sculpt I have seen. Nice job.
Oh, and the first HAN’s face was too fat. He looked like he had a gum disease or something, so I’m hoping to be able to take this face more seriously… I mean, not “BOBA FETT kick@$$ Bounty Hunter” seriously, or “PALPATINE Ultimate Evil” seriously, or even “DARTH MAUL Death Incarnate in a Sith Lord” seriously, but seriously enough for him to have a gun and call himself a smuggler. Not the face that’s trying to decide what drink to order next, or what happened to his youth, but the one where he’s trying to decide to leave the spice cargo and feel Jabba’s wrath or fight to the death using whatever means necessary. There’s definitely a difference…
MOST unfortunately, I often have the same problem(s) as KFalcon77 w/ my SW figs. By the time it reaches my doorstep, I feel like it’s old news or something. Not really sure why, but I think it also has to do w/ the fact that my FAVORITE figures are often shipping at the same time, so some of these almost seem like they can wait (sorry SS, but many of these just aren’t my favorite characters – BOBA, VADER; though I WILL say I’m looking forward to PALPATINE, my favorite by you so far has been MAUL, w/ ASAJJ at a close second, and PLO KOON probably at 3, although I actually LOVE your first LUKE figure, I’m liking it more and more!). Sometimes I feel that there are SO many characters we’re going to get that I’m hardly ever surprised or impressed by much w/ many of these. It’d be cool to get the Penultimate version of each character, but many releases seem to leave something to be desired – and, like ARAGORN and LEGOLAS in the LOTR’s line, leave accessories out as well (even w/ the exclusive version). Just being honest…

I’m surprised by this. I know its the 30th anniversary year, but when this comes out, it will be long over. If you were going to do a Han, why not an Endor Han, then you could have blown out the rest of those Endor Troopers….

I looking forward to it. But it will be anti-climactic when it arrives just like the rest of the line. It takes too long to reach our door steps. Regardless, I love Han Solo!!!
Sideshow makes me happy…This is the only sight I check everyday…As I previously said, I Love this figure, but I hope the Head Sculpt gets a little more work…The face just seems to wide at the jaw line…Nevertheless, I will be getting one on Friday. ANH Han is my favorite version of the character. For those wanting armor, do like myself, buy some magic sculpt, a dremmel tool, and some sculpting tools and start making it yourself. I also plan to cast some existing 1/6 scale Marmit Stormtrooper armor for this figure.

The facial sculpt has to be retooled, you missed the mark on the likeness of Harrison Ford. As for the selected character, great pick! This version of Solo has always been my favorite and will be a nice addition to the collection. Too bad you couldn’t have planned the 30th Anniversary figure selection that corresponds with the original twelve from the old three quarter Kenner line…. that would’ve been sweet! As for the exclusive piece, it has to be the Yavin medal.
I am completely burned out on Han / Luke / Leia. ANH Han is a great choice but should be released in year from now. It would have more impact. I will get it, but I’m less enthusiastic about it. I can hold out for armor, but give me a little more variety or better line planning.
I compared the face sculpt to a still of Ford from ANH with almost the exact same expression, and while the sculpt gets a lot of the details right, the cherub-like serene expression seems more like Solo 10 to 15 years before ANH. Some other poster mentioned “Elf-like”….it does have a Frodoish air about it. Hopefully, Sideshow will make a few changes before the actual release, because I’d have to pass on it as it stands(and I’ll usually buy anything Solo).
I don’t know what everyone is griping about with Vader. I didn’t miss him, I picked him up last year. I believe it was a Comic-con exclusive, but easily available to non-attendees such as myself. So yeah, I already have a Sideshow 12″ Darth Vader figure. I am now awaiting announcement of Storm/Clone troopers, but I have no problem with ANH Han coming out first. I know they are coming, just as an armored Vader is eventually coming. I’d rather see more figures that weren’t done by Hasbro, or at least weren’t done well, first.
Ok, I love Sideshow, but come on…it is beginning to feel like you cannot figure out how to make armored figures. I can’t believe how some people are so excited about this..I already have a Han, how about making some figures that aren’t available (DROIDS). Please.

But whats diffrent from the last one you made besides the shirt? Why not Chewbacca!!?? I feel like I am being punked to some degree as a fan and a customer. I feel like my money is being squeezed from me. You guys make great products. I think your decision for teh next big Star Wars 12: figure could have been better than a re-do.

the likeness looks alot like Corey Feldman the kid from goonies moreso than Harrison Ford.
YEa Rob I’ll buy one just because I have all the other 12″ ones ever made thus far. Thats the reason I have a plethora of lukes in the 3 3/4″ line. I’m a completist and as much as I want to not buy I cant stop at this point cause I want a whole set. And the leia comment Mine didnt have issues like that. Shes wonderful. I had to steam her dress cause it was so badly wrinkled though. I tell ya I love the new more “in scale” bodies. Leia was just right as far as scale is concerned. This Han Sculpt though is just horendous. I do sculpture and I think I could make a better likeness with my eyes closed. I hope its improved before its done!!

Why is everyone complaining about this new Han? Sideshow puts out the best quality figures on the market and all anyone can do is get on here and point out what they think is wrong with it. They always go back and touch up each figure they make. This picture is just a way of letting us see what direction their going in. As for everyone wanting a Vader or Fett Sideshow has said they are working on it and the reason for all the Lukes, leias, and Hans are that they were the main stars of the original trilogy. Everyone just needs to relax and be patient and not worry about the new Han, it will turn out great.

i really feel that sideshow is holding out on purpose. if they give us the figs we really want, vader, fett, cody, chewie, i bet they feel we will lose interest in the line. hopefully the next 12 inch will be something we have been truly waiting for. i’ll get han, but just because.
Please SSC, fix the shirt. The collar is too short and fat and the neckline is too short.

Another Han? I do want it, but not this soon. I understand the need to make core characters so that mom or dad can buy what thier kids want, but these doll are not for kids.

i bitched about the anh leia because the hood/collar on mine is a separate piece, and it barely covers up the unsewn actual collar of the dress. anyone else have this problem? i contacted sideshow last week, but have yet to receive a response. and how can you overlook the collar issue on the bespin luke? sideshow has stated that they are committed to bringing us “film accurate” characters, and then they give us a luke that is significantly inaccurate. yes, i know, i can flip the collar up, but the fact that they put the collar-down pic on the box is inexcusable. he NEVER wore his jacket that way in the film…

I dont see why people bitch about the ANH leia she was Wonderful!!! and Bespin luke was good his likeness wasnt as good as ROTJ lukes but I put Bespin Han’s gas mask on him and he looks cool that way. But the likeness on this ine is WAY I mean WAY off. It looks NOTHING aAT ALL like Harrison Ford! its kind of like say a knock off figure made by a mexican market or something. Extremly disapointed in the sculpt. I also would like other never done before Characters as well. Why 3 lukes, 2 hans, and 2 leias ? We could have made many other character choices and salted in another leia or luke a little along. Wheres Oola? Amanaman? and for Gods Sake the Max Rebo band??? I mean Jabba and his Throne were AMAZING!!!!! But the set looks incomplete without more aliens and his BAND!!!!! That said of course I’ll but Han Even though I’ll do it Begrudgingly cause I buy every Star Wars figure like a moron. even when I feel they are getting too expensive and the quality is lower. Why cant the Jedi and Asaji ventress’s robes be hemmed
I sense a trend in the force towards re-releasing characters. How may Lukes and Hans before we get Lando, Speeder Scout Trooper, Greedo, Darth Vader, Chewie, Droids, Ewoks, Storm Troopers, General Greavous, etc., etc. Not to mention, since you have already gone there, all of the comic book characters.
So many characters to draw from and so little time….

Great job Sideshow! Han looks fantastic. I’m looking forward to snagging this one. Please don’t forget the Han/Carbonite expansion pack. I think Chewie is really needed now so Han will have someone to play Dejarik with. Way to go Sideshow keep up the great work.
The exclusive should be the Stormtrooper Belt since the medal was the exclusive for the 1/4 scale Han
This doesn’t look at all like Harrison Ford. What’s with the squinty eyes and the weird far away look?
This line is practically on life-support now. Sideshow makes 1 GREAT item for every three MEDIOCRE items. Thus, it keeps me interested but I’m not 100% satisfied. SIDESHOW, PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS….GIVE US SOMETHING NEW & SIGNIFICANT!!! Where is Darth Vader? And where is Commander Bly in full glory with all his accessories??!!
head looks a little elfish, maybe a bit too small for the body. think i’ll pass on this one, as the past two figures i’ve purchased from sideshow (bespin luke & anh leia) were disappointing for a number of reasons (and sideshow has yet to address my complaint). i agree with eddie: i want something with armor, whether it be a stormtrooper, fett (boba or jango) or especially vader (not too into clones, but if it was cool enough, i’d probably get it). this line is starting to become a letdown for me, with the rushing of production and the decrease in quality. and the aforementioned characters have been addressed in the line by importing product from another company. what did you guys do, hire people from hasbro?
I am really excited about the new Han Solo. I just hope the do some tweaking to the face paint job before they distribute them.
Oh and for the record….
Sideshow customers that complain about bad sculpts on Star Wars figures, get coal in their stockings for Christmas….That and Santa leaves reindeer poop in your collectibles case.
So quit crying and get out your credit cards because you’re all going to buy this Han anyway!
I think Smuggler Han looks Great….. I personally would rather have a compromise between cocky and cool and the figure looks like a fine balance of the two.

Bespin Han takes too much heat. I think it’s a fine sculpt, full of character – love the smirk. There’s none of Solo’s cockiness present in the photo above, and it’s far too similar to the placid sculpts of Bespin Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Sidious. C’mon, SS, you’re master artists! Inject some personality into the Star Wars Icons!

Bespin Han remains my favorite Sideshow doll so far and I think it has a perfect likeness. This one looks good but seems off in a few places. Harrison Ford’s lips aren’t so full, his jaw is more square and his face isn’t as wide. Otherwise it looks good and I’ll definitely be a’buying it. I feel like the Sideshow body has shoulders that are too wide for these characters. Bespin Luke and Han would both benefit from skinnier frames. I’m going to guess that his exclusive feature will be a full set of 1/6 scale Stormtrooper armor.
The ONLY chance this figure has of me ordering it is if it comes packed with an ARMOR FIGURE. Come on Sideshow, make what people have been asking for!!!
Looks much better than the ESB Han, but I’m still waiting for Indy. The gradual improvements in the sculpts so far have really impressed me, so now I can’t wait for the Indiana Jones figure line!! Faces are the key! Keep it up Sideshow!

One sideburn is longer than the other. DO you expect me to pay $60 bucks for a mistake like this? There’s also a line where the neck meets the body!!! The vest has too long of stiches to be perfect scale. I bet his fingernails won’t be manicured either. If his feet are not a perfect scale to a size ten I will have a COW! How about nose hair? You know what…I might just not spend the money to order this unbelievably imperfect TOY! I think I will learn how to scuplt, sew, and paint and make one myself…that’ll show you! Then maybe I will use that $60 bucks to buy food for a needy family or a gift for a child that is more deserving than me because I’m self centered. I’ll give up Sideshow all together and collect those Busts from that other company…because they always look exactly like the actors! From now on I will only buy ones that appeal to me as a collector, how about that??? These are not just toys…they are the most important things to keep my life normal! So There!
Too much @$$ kissing here for a figure that could have been a Episode 2 Clonetrooper or an AT-AT Driver. I know that the bodies have to be milked to death to be profitable but come on!

Certainly a key charactor that excites me but I hope in natural lighting the head sculpt likeness is more authentic? I was more pleased with the Leia head sculpt out of the box then I was with her photos. Please let this be the same!

Not only does this blow the fist 16th scale Han out of the water in terms of likeness, realism–it blows the Premium Format away, too. Truly amazing.
The sculpt is much better than Bespin Han, but I think the face needs to be a little thinner. Could just be the picture, but still, great sculpt. Can’t wait to see Indy!!!

THIS LOOKS MORE LIKE HARRISON FORD THAN THE FIRST ONE. I’m not saying getting likenesses is easy, but the first one just looked weird – which is why, I must admit, it’s probably the one SW figure by SS that I don’t plan on purchasing. I’ve heard things about the tailoring, too, but I won’t go there – SS obviously listens to the fans, so, like HOT TOYS, they’re certainly allowed to mess up a little bit here and there (Granted, any likeness issues w/ Hot Toys is a result of actors-licensing issues, not the company itself… but Hot Toys doesn’t have to deal w/ the multitude of products that SS has to). I give credit where credit is due, which is part of the reason why, while the company makes AWESOME figures, MEDICOM is NOT allowed room for mistakes. Sometimes they’re just damn lazy, I swear. BOBA FETT?? About worth th price I paid. SPIDEY-3 VENOM? You’ve gotta be kidding me… Don’t even get me started on Beginning Batman. Anywho, what I meant to say was “Good job SS, and thank you!!”
I am glad you are releasing ANH Han Solo but what is that headsculpt?? It is awful! The eyes are the wrong colour too. I am starting to want to get out of this line already. Up the standard!

The sculpt looks nice. The white shirt looks like the same substandard material used for Leia’s dress. Han’s shirt should be a light yellow knit shirt.

I have noticed all of the attention to detail and R&D that is going on for the Indiana Jones licence, why couldn’t you do the same for Star Wars, here is anotherfigure that looks nothing like the character or actor. Why do you keep getting it wrong.
I give up, Star Wars deserves better, give the licence to HOt Toys.
COME ON GUYS Are we looking at the same picture??? That doesn not look like Harrison Ford!! Seriously!! The clothing looks great but that likeness is WAY OFF!!! Seriously look at the pic again. and I honestly think the Bespin Han was cool I got the Exclusive and Really loved the Mynock and his outfit. Sure it had a few issues the main being it was a tad off in the likeness. This one is WAY OFF he needs a makeover.
Another great entry for SW30! Now the recently released Leia will have that smuggler chasing her around the collection shelf! Looks great, Sideshow!

He still looks a little chunky, plus his expression is not “scoundrelly” enough. Sorry, but I just can’t imagine posing him shooting at a Stormtrooper or Greedo with that goofy look on his face. P.S. I think the free exclusive bonus will be an extra set of “gloved” hands and a flight headset.

Sideshow loves giving Han blue eyes. We had this same issue with the first Han. Not to overly geek out, but come on.
The Exclusive will probably host two added features. The medallion will most likely be part of the regular releae as well in order to match up with Yavin Luke. I think a pair of gloved hands and a headset are more likely to be included with the exclusive.
Yes, finally this Han has a better likeness of Mr. Ford, than the ESB version. Next please make R2-D2 and C-3PO. And always number one on the wish list is the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader.

I was hoping the final 30th anniversary character would be a final duel Vader or a set of droids from Return of the Jedi to complete the classic trilogy set, but Han is definitely a great second choice!
