Maybe one of these days the binocs would have a lighting diode, indicating it is functioning, otherwise this Luke is an image worth waiting for.

Apparently my comments were too spicy to leave.My main deal with this one is that it doesn’t look like Hamil at all.I started collecting because of the Luke jedi looking so real it was almost creepy.Quality seems to be taking a nosedive, and I’m tired of getting my figure in a box that is all bent up because little care is taken during the packing process.In one of the pics it looks like his hand is on backwards!I just don’t want to see something so awesome take a dip just so we can crank something out.There is a reason why sideshow became so popular let’s not deviate from those principles.I would agree that we need some diff characters.Maybe xwing pilot, but otherwise there are tons of jedi masters that need to be produced. thanks.

I think this is an important Luke figure to fit into the line. Having said that…I’m not terribly cracked up about the sculpt on the face. Couldn’t SS have just used the head from the SDCC exclusive Ceremonial Luke? That’s a heck of a lot closer than the ROTJ Luke (with “Someone Just Goosed Me” eyes), ESB Bespin Luke, or this new one. Plus, the hair is WAY too dark. Hamill’s hair was dirty blonde, not brown. Bring on Chewie, Vader, and Grand Moff Tarkin!

Could we get an accessory pack with Stormtrooper blasters, Stormtrooper belt for Han, Stormtrooper belt with grappling hook for Luke, Endor Helmet and poncho, and Blast Shield Helmet???
That’s another thing, the more people complain about too many Lukes the less chance I have of bagging a Hoth Luke on a 1/6 taun taun and a pilot Luke. And I NEED a pilot Luke.

Give an inch, take a mile! If you were trying to end this line, you couldn’t do a better job! Shame on you, Sideshow is better than this! I may or may not buy this Luke, but if I do, it will certainly be the LAST Luke I ever purchase!
I don’t think there would be much complaining if this were a Luke in Stormtrooper armor,huh? At least it would be an armored figure.
I think this Luke looks cool, but I would rather see an expanded universe Luke. A luke when he is a jedi master would be an even better piece. I know it would be a hard one to actually put into production, but there is tons of artwork out there that have been used for book covers and in comics books. Anyhow, that’s just my 2 cents.

I really like this Luke, it is a icon character with the clothes from the first scene we see of him, and a must buy for a fan….but come on don’t we have enough Luke’s already?? Stop with the Luke and get some of those characters who’ve been left without anything.
I have to agree with Dan…it’s about diveristy not obscurity. If they had slotted this VERY iconic Luke for order first quarter “08, then maybe they could have did something different on the SDCC exclusive. That would have been cooler…or at least different. No ones saying the figure will be lame or nothing, just that Luke, after Luke, after Luke, after Han, after Luke is getting kinda drab. Like I said before, from a company as awesome as SS, some of us are expecting a little more “WOW” factor. Afterall, this is SS, not hasbro. These guys live for the collector market.
Its not a matter of whining becuase we don’t want it. I want one but wishthey could space out the main characters a little more and give us more diversity.
This is going to be my first Luke. So no complaints from me.
Its an anniversary edition, which makes sense. Perhaps, Chewie, Vader, the Droids, and a Stormtrooper are going to round things out? So far, its very similar to the original Kenner release…anyone???

Those of us that DO want Luke (a pretty important character) in his iconic outfit and AREN’T content with their lumpy old hasbro versions (which should be everyone who owns one of those stretch armstrong looking freaks) are pretty happy with this.
So please stop spoiling the buzz for us, you’ll get your 3rd cantina alien from the left eventually, so you can re-enact that 0.4 second shot to your hearts content.

Wow…what’s our average here…1.3 Lukes per year? Most of which were announced or released in the last year?
Now don’t get me wrong, me and my brother Dcfett will be there Friday to order aanother Luke, but come on. Where’s the “Wow” factor? All we gonna get is Luke…Han…Luke…Han…Luke…Han? Reminds me of another company that did the same thing with another license.
So far we have bought all the SS SW figs but we may have to start being more selective.

Be fair people, not everyone out there adopts the ‘collect ‘em all’ mentality. With these being the price they are a lot of people will want to pick and choose and when they walk into a store they are going to want something that is iconic Star Wars. Remember, not everyone is obsessed as us and when the casual fan walks into a store with sixty bucks/forty quid and wants a high end Star Wars collectible these are the sort of characters they’re gonna look for. While I’m here any chance of a 12″ SQUID HEAD!!!!???
The day you start makeing jar jar or anything miner like that is the day I end my collecting star wars 12 inch.

While the iconic Luke is welcome, its release is poorly planned. Sideshow, you’re not releasing enough of an even mix of characters – and your glaring omission of armored characters is beginning to seem like you are not going to do them at all. Perhaps you haven’t figured out how, or perhaps they’re cost prohibitive. Prove me wrong, Sideshow. Learn how to work, kids.
I saw that SS was doing yet another Luke figure and thought, what is the face going to look like this time? I fyou stand all of the previous Luke’s next to each other they look like a groups of friends, they don’t even pass for being relatives of one another. I have been waiting for a company to do a LUKE FIGURE…I have yet to see one that somewhat resmebles Mark Hamill. I preordered the Bespin Luke and canceled my order after the pictures of it never got any better. I am still waiting for the Indy Premium format, but SS could try to change my mind with this figure…hint, hint!
This is a beautiful figure, a real compliment to the Ep.IV line of figures. But I really wouldn’t mind seeing some female Jedi characters (AAyla Secura, Bariss Offee, Iluminara Unduli to name a few)or an Ep.VI Vader w/severed hand or an Ep.III Dooku w/severed hands. Perhaps wise old Yoda from Ep.III just an idea guys. Keep up the good work!!!!
Now that luke has been completed we should begin to see the characters that everybody has mentioned above, Fingers crossed!!

Wanna Bet by the end of the year there’ll be an X-Wing Luke or a Hoth Luke??? I’d rather have an Ewok or Jar Jar then ANOTHER Luke at this point !!!!!!
I saw someone else wanted Sly Moore. She’s on my Sideshow wish list of figures we’ll never see. My top choices for figures we’ll never see are: Aayla Secura, Nien Nunb, Sly Moore, Lando General… among many more. Everyone just needs to come to terms that while SS holds the license, you won’t get the figures that you really want. They are too slow. Sorry, it ain’t happening. The good thing is that it gives us the opportunity to spend our money elsewhere. It’s possible Lucasfilm might listen to complaints (but I wouldn’t hold my breath). Any chance a letter campaign could get Lucasfilm to push SS in the right direction?
So, Sideshow, getting the message? I agree that this is the Luke that breaks the camel’s back. Repeating this character so soon & so often is bad. And even though this is the iconic ANH version, it makes the repetition even worse that this is a version that has been done repeatedly by Hasbro ever since the first 12″ figures of the vintage line. Sideshow should have done this Luke sooner & put off one of the others for 2008 or beyond. I can understand that SSC may still be trying avoid making droids/armoured characters in this line yet, while you concentrate on human/creature characters, providing sculpts better than those that others have done in the past. And I understand that Chewie’s still a pipe dream that can’t be accomplished excellently. But even if you were trying to limit yourself to ANH in honor of the 30th year (which is over now, anyway) there are at least a half dozen choices that would’ve been better. Tarkin, Greedo, a Tusken Raider, Ceremonial Leia, General Dadonna, Dr.Evazan, Ponda Baba, or even the Tonnika Sisters would have been more exciting, to say nothing of other obvious OT choices.

while i’m glad we get a Luke from every movie, i have to agree with every one else, that we need the figures that Hasbro and everyone else never made. don’t get me wrong, i love Sideshow’s figures, way better than anything that has ever been done. the core group of characters will always be there, we need the Aayla, Mara, the bounty hunters and more of the Military line. Do some more expanded universe, like a Grand Admiral Thrawn. aside from that, All Hail Sideshow for keeping my bank account as low as it is.

I’m happy with another Luke just throw in the floppy hat, poncho, long rifle and training helmet and we’re set. Also: Great job with the Ep. IV Obi-Wan (arrived last Tuesday). I took him out of his shipping box and marveled at a 12 inch version of Sir Alec Guinness. Thanks again Sideshow!
I’m going to have to say “enough Luke” for now… Heck, SERIOUSLY!! N’ it looks like a new head sculpt, too, right? If it’s good it makes sense, but otherwise just do a repaint. This version IS crucial, but if the next announcement is “X-Wing pilot Luke” heads will role… onto eBay, that is, ’cause my budget is tightening quickly and Star Wars isn’t my absolute favorite license of all time… I’m a big fan, but my obligation to support Star Wars collectibles is unnecessary – I can pass on the next few releases and get them later when I actually HAVE the cash…

Another luke….geez tell ya what you make. how about general veers, tessek, lobot, nien nunb, weequay,rebel fleet trooper,ugnauts,general madine,mon mothma, wedge antilles,the things these figures have in common nobody has made them in a 12″ scale so take advantage of this idea.
I am glad that this very iconic version of Luke is coming, but I think it was too late, and should have been released earlier when the 30th anniversary celebrations were in full swing. HOWEVER, I am VERY weary of the pricepoint, and the sculpting of the hands. I certainly hope that these are addressed before final production. YOUNG HANDS and unless there is a treasure-trove of accessories, $54.99 USD Sideshow!
I was a little disappointed at another Luke figure being announced but after admiring my new SS Obi Wan Kenobi that arrived yesterday, I can say that nothing could complement him more than Luke in full moisture farmer gear. With smuggler Han already announced and now Tatooine Luke, I think a certain dark lord of the Sith is definitely on the horizon.

Michael its not that were all saying no more lukes just spread them out some so its not a glut of Lukes on the market. Some I’d LOVE to see is a 12″ Amanaman alien, maybe a Ephant MOn in 12″ scale (hey if they can do Jabba they can do this guy), The Max Rebo band set with Max and his Redball organ, Droopy McCool and his flute and Sy Snoodles in her pre special edition incarnation. Maybe even a dancer 3 pack similar to the Endor strike force bundle. Include in it Rystall Gretta and Lyn Me. Maybe for the accessories a few more of the smaller Aliens from Jabbas Palace. I for one would love an Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, Also a Shimi Skywalker, 21-B Droid, AAlya Secura, Oppo Rancisis (bearded snake like Jedi), General Grevious on par with the sheer breathtaking quality of there 1/4 scale size. Nute Gunray and Rune Haku, a GOOD Queen Amidala in her origional red dress from Episode 1, Zam Wessel a GOOD one!!, Aurra Sing a GOOD one!!!, Boss Nass a GOOD ONE, Jar Jar a GOOd one, Saesee Tiin, Yarael Poof?

This will likely be THE ultimate Luke Skywalker figure. Of all the Star Wars figures Sideshow has produced, this is the one I’ve been looking forward to the most (besides Chewie and C-3po and R2). If the headsculpt is good, this figure will be an amazing addition to Sideshow family. Look into your heart, Sideshow. Deliver us a Luke head we can be proud of. Bernbaum out.
A.) This looks like it will be the best Luke yet.
B.) His hands are wrinkled because Tatooine is so dry and he just needs a little moisturiser.

Hey Kevin C You can’t even spell noser, so I don’t think you are payed well enough to afford Both figure like you said, and even if you are WHO CARES, There are alot of collectors that have all of SW SSC figure as well as ALL Medicom RAH. If you don’t like the figures that SSC makes don’t buy them, but Keep your childish, baby comments, to yourself.
Time to stop buying every Sideshow 12″ Star Wars figure and be more selective. I have been yawning since Plo Koon. It is clear Sideshow does human after human because it is cost effective. Let’s hope they are working hard on the new 12″ scale bodies with Hot Toys so we can get some armored characters, aliens and droids. The wait for anything but humans is played way out. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Well I LOTHE rehashes of Figures Hasbro has already done and Sideshow too for that matter. But I for one am loving the ANH figures. Obi wan was awesome Leia had some minor issues but was great, Han looks Awesome eccept for that overly Steep price point. and Luke is going to be great. Make a Chewbacca and C-3po, R2-D2, General Jan Dodonna, a Tuskin Raider, Jawa, a Good Dr. Evzan and Ponda Boba aka Walrus man 2 pack, and a Momaw Nadon aka Hammer Head How awesome would he be. I’m Really getting into the ANH wave going on here. Make some of the Cantina Aliens never made before and Oh Lord this would be awesome a 12″ scale Diagona Trash Monster!!!
Oh I also am still holding out hope for a Max Rebo band set using the regular version of Sy Snoodles PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Every hero has an origin. An origin should be preserved in a way so the ages can look upon it and remember. It is good to see that it appears that Sideshow have replicated with the greatest of respect and honour to the origin of Luke Skywalker. Very excited to see the whole thing.
I understand the need to make multiple Lukes (easy money) but another Luke in a 12 month period! This is probably the reason why a lot of folks get tired with this line (plus the increase in price). I used to be a diehard sideshow collector but its because of this that I started buying Medicom, Hot Toys and Takara figures.
I’m not even sure if you guys at Sideshow are even reading our posts here. I know armored figures would probably take a decade before it got made but please give us new characters. (I would not mind a slave Leia to go with Jabba though).
Hey, Michael Buckley, I believe you have reached what is really important here. Sideshow is doing the Luke figure because it has to go with the other ANH figures. Everyone is worrying about another Luke when they should be worrying about how he looks (any other time any other figure, it would be the sculpt that was important).
Most of you forget what Sideshow has told us about armored figures (one reason they brought in those figures from overseas), they let slip that they were working on armor but were going to make sure it was Sideshow quality. You have to admit, folks, they are not going to release some of your desired characters outside of Toyfair, Celebration V, or SDCC. They are giving you something that they needed to do, did you really think this Luke should have waited for Toyfair? I hope not. Big announcements don’t usually happen outside of big events. Take your disappointment and put it in perspective. LOTR folks feel more left out than SW folks, but not even the great folks at Sideshow can please everybody even part of the time. Besides, my money is kinda lean right now, how about you folks?
Miike: I say give us both Darth Vader and Count Dooku. And by the way I have every SSC released Star Wars 1/6 scale figure. So, yes I could afford both could you?
I am sure SS will sell them, but too many Lukes when there are so many untapped Characters. Where’s Chewbaca, DV or some of the female Jedis from episode 1. Please SS give me a better thrill than Luke again.As always it looks like a good fig, I’m just underwhelmed.

I think Vader may wait until 30th of ESB. I hope not but technically we do have Darth Vader just no armor. I hope to see more diversity in the line before making any other characters however these do all tie in together just like the Jabba clan. So realize what is going on and dont be so judgemental about the marketing.Vader will be along I am sure they want to do a real good job with him since he is so highly desired.As for the line itself it has been great so just be patient and let good things come.Everyone has to admit these are much better than their Hasbro counterparts.
And I personally love the packaging a real plus. Lets bring on the secondary characters ones that have not been done yet but collectors would like to see possibly do a survey and go from there like you did with Padme.
There are many good suggestions for new figures. I understand that SSC has no choice but to offer various incarnations of the major characters and as long as the quality is there, that’s fine with me; after all, we’re not obligated to order every figure. However, If SSC really wants to keep the attention of collectors, they’re going to have to mix in some surprises, such as cantina patrons, bounty hunters, droids, etc. There is also room for creativity with the main characters. For example, a Smuggler Lando, Slave and/or Ceremonial Leia, Frozen Han, or Dinner Dress Padme. These versions of main characters have never been done – or never done well – as 12 inch figures. What about some McQuarrie Concept figures? I would love to see a SSC McQuarrie Chewbacca or McQuarrie Stormtrooper! I also have to encourage SSC to place some sort of cap on the amount of time between pre-orders and product delivery. To a large extent, your customers are members of the 6-to-8-weeks-really-means-6-to-8-months generation and won’t tolerate overly-extended waiting periods forever.

This is great news! I hope that Sideshow can and will capture Mark Hamill’s likeness MUCH better than Kenner/Hasbro did. I got their “Original Trilogy” Luke and the headsculpt was horrible. Luke looked like a happy Ken doll! Yuck! I hope the great sculptors at Sideshow can really bring out Luke’s likeness like it should be. I have Sideshow’s jedi knight Luke and I think it’s great. So here’s to hoping that this new “A New Hope” Luke will be worth the money! I really hope it is!
IF you are going to release the same character for every single scene for every single movie, at least space them out (three Lukes in a year!!!). And why not have one body/sculpt for each movie and offer clothing/accessory packs to fill the scenes in? It seemed to have worked for GI Joe and Barbie!! I wonder if Hasbro X-Wing Luke’s flight suit will fit on this Luke……
Travis, you’re on to something about the fast shipment of the Bespin Luke before the anouncement of this Luke. And we waited 9 months for the old Ben-Kenobi. And we’re still waiting, like two years for Padme. SSC are playing games with loyal customers like myself. I see no reason why SSC cannot ship a figure 4 or 5 months after the pre-order. I still think that SSC should release 24 1/6 scale figures each year, and not 12.
I’m tired of everyone crying about why not darth vader , your probably not going to get one. I say give us a count dooku since he got killed off way to early in episode 3 now that would rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sean Manzione what a “Brown Nosier”!! I have the Medicom Shadow Stormtrooper and what a piece of over priced junk. I only bought it because of it being an StarWarsShop.com exclusive. The thing looks like a boy standing next to the SSC 1/6 scale line. I’ve thought about getting the Medicom Vader, but why a puny Darth Vader battling the ROTJ Luke? I personally would pay $100 for an armored SSC figure if they were better than Medicom.

I like the idea but I have to agree with some of the other posters that are anxious for some different characters; like Vader, Chewie, Lando, or even a Royal Guard (cool, unexpected choice that would get a lot of attention with all the red), Ackbar, Academy Biggs, Madine, Dengar or Zuckuss. I love my Ceremonial Luke b/c it was a unique choice of outfits for a relatively early figure in the Sideshow line (“early” b/c it came before figures of other major characters). I’ll have to wait and see this finished Luke before ordering.
Everyone just stop complaining and be glad that everything Sideshow does is 100 times better than the Hasbro junk we were dealt for all those years!!! They will get around to Vader, Boba Fett and everyone else in due time. “Patience! Soon, you will be with them…”
Right on!! This is one of the Lukes I’ve bee waiting for. I don’t mind getting multiple Lukes since we’ll be getting them anyway. So why not now, Pilot Luke and Hoth Luke would be also appreciated. You can’t have a complete SW collection without this iconic representation of Luke Skywalker. That said can we get on with the Han/Carbonite expansion pack please. By the way I agree with the above posts, please do something about the hands. Thanks Sideshow keep up the great work
I have to join the group with a bit of disappointment. I don’t mind all the “human” figures, but how bout Tarkin, or another Imperial. I’d even take a Lando.
Beautiful figure SSC, but I do think that I heard both Gandalf the Grey AND Darth Vader softly weeping and consoling each other.
Hey SSC fans dont worry so much I think SSC will have big releases for us, for the upcoming year. Just stay positive and hopefully SSC will give us what we have been longing for, since we have been collecting this line.

That said–frikkin’ WOW. I guess the good think about doing so many Lukes is that SS REALLY has a feel for the character and Mark Hamil’s physicality. This will be the best one yet!
To all the naysayers about LUKE…LUKE RAWKS and is the hero of this saga. Period. I’m more than happy to add this LUKE to my collection. However, I am ready for other characters as well. BRING IT ON Sideshow.

A headsculpt and soft goods for clothes is alot cheaper to produce, and small runs WILL sell out eventually,,, But we need more like Darth Maul. Even if he was from the abortion: “Phantom Menace”. And please for all that’s holy, don’t use the small figure body to put out a young mAnakin Skywalker… Also, if anyone says the words Jar Jar in a meeting, fire them immediately!

I love sideshow and have been a fan for years but I have to agree with most people when they say too many Lukes. Side show when it comes to Star Wars seems to be getting a little lazy.. You could do so many other characters and you pick another Luke. You have to be careful because when a company oversaturates the product people start getting turned off on it… Excample: Hasbros 12 inch figures, comic books in the 90 with different covers, Star Trek TV show(how many shows?)…If I were you go for characters like Lando(not my favorite) Yoda, Chewy, R2d2 and c3po, boba fett, ewoks, stormtroopers.. there really are so many that you can do..For me the most impressive and imagitive Star wars item to date from you is Jabba and throne.. I love your products but I have slowed down on the Star Wars Because of all the same characters being done.
THANK YOU!!!!! This is yet another one I can pass on. Just curious, how much is he going to cost? $60, $65? I see a lot of complaining but a lot of people going to buy. WHY? If you buy the figure you are condoning Sideshow’s behavior. I’m also tired of hearing about Vader. Quit asking for him. He’s not coming any time soon. Maybe 2010 or the year after if you’re lucky. I’m disappointed by Sideshow’s price increases, their figure selections, their timetables. ENOUGH with the Episode 4 figures, mix it up a bit PLEASE. General Lando, Aayla Secura, Nien Nunb, and so many more worthy candidates are out there. If Hasbro has done it, however good or bad, PLEASE don’t redo it (at least not anytime soon).

Hey Sideshow, forget about the Luke “haters.” This is figure is going to ROCK!!!! As previously mentioned, the core of Episode 4 is almost complete…Before stormtroopers or anything else, a CHEWIE must be next!!!! There has never been a truly great version of this character, SIdeshow can pull it off!!! A C3PO and R2D2 WOUOLD BE NICE also!!! Keep up the OUTSTANDING work SIdeshow!!! I cannot wait until next Friday!!!
True – it’s the 4th Luke, but we NEED this one to stand next to our ep4 Obi-wans, Solo’s and Leia’s. We are having a good run on New Hope heroes here, which I think is cool.

There’s a huge demand for a Darth Vader. Haven’t we had a release of him already? That variant of Anakin skywalker with Sith-eyes was named said charachter.

Yet I have to agree that another Luke release is beginning to get tiresome. I skipped ANH Han Solo, and I’m leaning on skipping this one as well. I’m pleased enough with the Besbin variant.

Awesome addition to the line Sideshow! I’ve been imagining my collection with Old Ben, Han, Leia and now…Luke! This is the Luke we saw for the first time, he’s truly iconic! Great work!
I wanted to comment that if all the whiners want Vader, buy Medicom RAH, Like I did, along with, Boba Fett, Jango Fett, clone troopers, sandtroopers and stormtroopers. QUIT CRYING! This is a GREAT figure, with the detail that I expect from sideshow. Keep up the GREAT figures SSC and don’t let the BABIES change what you do.

I realize Sideshow avoids any humanoid character that goes beyond the “standard body plus clothing” formula due to cost issues in part, but at this point the otherwise primo quality needs that armor/etc factor so the whiners and non-whiners alike can get the figs they dig.

I agree that another Luke seems a bit much; but, I think some of you might be forgetting that Sideshow normally makes these 12 inch figures based on a standard body mold. They basically change the head and clothes…that’s why we’re not seeing Chewbacca, droids, etc. It would be probably cost alot more per figure because of the production costs. But…if they did make one trooper, it would probably be pretty darn easy to make numerous variations on it. I’m definitely on board for a Vader. Plus, if Sideshow really wants to continue with “human” bodied figures I’m all for a Bespin Princess Leia!

Meh. I guess it’s better late than never for SSC to “celebrate” the 30th anniversary. Usually, the prototype pictures look better in some ways than the final product. Not here, I hope. The head sculpt is crap and the veiny old man hands have got to go. Also, unless there are more cool accessories to be announced to warrant a higher price, THIS FIGURE, ALONG WITH HAN SOLO: SMUGGLER, NEED TO BE NO MORE THAN $54.99 USD!
I have to join the Another Luke bandwagon. While I like to collect all of these, the line has definitely lost a lil luster for me. I’ll echo a few requests DROIDS!!! R2-D2/C-3PO, Chewie, Lando, Stormtrooper, Darth Vader, I’ll even take a Gamorrean Guard at this point. Just not another Luke.

Okay, I never post comments, but this time I really had to. This Luke is great and I will buy it, but come on! The Star Wars line has become so boring! Your line planning is terrible. Every Han & Luke has been awesome figures but dumped on us at the same time. Space them out! You guys are making the most iconic versions of the characters but killing the buzz for them! Where are the bounty hunters, Lando, Ackbar, rebel pilots, Darth Vader, stormtroopers? I would even take more Jedi!
Finally! The ultimate character from the series! Can’t wait for this to hit the trucks. Now I’m really stumped over who could possibly be next! Bring em on!

Sideshow obviously is not listening to thier fans and customers whatsoever..and if they are listening (which you know they read this stuff) this angers me as a fan and a customer to no ends. Meaning, they know we dont want another repeat figure before the ones we dont have yet, and yet they keep popping them out, almost in dispite of us. Why another Luke? This line was the hottest thing at one point and now its just boring. Sideshow, you really need to wake up and be willing to spend some money. Where are our aliens? Where are the bounty hunters? Where are the troops? You guys were amazing for Jabba the Hutt, where is the next WOW item? I wish i never picked up the Bespin Luke, I would have preferred this one.

Hey Adam, maybe we’ll luck out and when SSC makes the Luke in Hoth gear, the exclusive will be the bacta tank diaper. Sideshow check Ebay and you’ll find a listing of a fan made Chewbacca with hair/fur. So yes it can be done.
Of course, I’ll be forking over money again, but it would be nice if we could see some figures not previously taken on by Kenner/Hasbro. How about Leia in Bespin Gown, or General Lando Calrissian from ROTJ? Even better would be an ESB Leia with changes of clothing (Hoth, Bespin Gown, Bespin Chase, gown from ending) with multiple heads to go with each.

Dude, I dont know about that portrait. When you enlarge the thumbnail, it looks sort of weird. I was so betting on Lando. If we hadnt got a Luke just LAST MONTH, I’d be elated, but while I welcome this addition to my collection, it’s a bit flat. SS, please add some trick lil bits like all working pouches, etc. Since we do get ANOTHER Luke, just step it up. Bespine L. was cool, but he could have been more tricked out than he was, IMO.

Oh my goodness, I think this one is going to be special. The belt and the quality of the shirt fabric were things that make or break this doll and both look great. Will it replace Bespin Han as my favorite Sideshow figure? The future is unwritten. ………….Please make environments to place the figures inside. Just two walls and a floor kinda thing. Ben Kenobi’s hut. Yoda’s hut. The Falcon’s cockpit. Those would all be great.

I think that is great that Sideshow is following in the steps of the Junn PLanning Nightmare before Christmas 12 months of Jack Skellington coffins. All we need now is for each Luke to come with a different colored coffin box with 12 different heads! One for each month of the year. Of coarse October Luke must have the Pumpkin Jack head to go with the bright orange X-wing jump suit.
Can we also get some holiday Lukes with Red long john jammies?

The newsletter couldn’t even announce who this was; like, Kaiseri12, I had no clue as to who this was supposed to be by the little pic and verbage. I have finally got it! It is the stunt double they used for young Mark Hamill in the first movie! But they listed his name in the credits and it wasn’t Mark Hamill. OH! now I get it, it doesn’t say it is supposed to look like young (pre-accident) Mark Hamill, it just says “Episode IV Luke Skywalker”. I’ve seen him in lots of book covers, posters, graphic novels, etc. and you can always tell it’s him by his Tatooine moisture farmer duds. I don’t mean to sound freaked-out and I should know better because it’s only a little show nothing picture, but the first Luke Skywalker better be the young Mark Hamill as in the film photo shot above. The Rebel Hero sculpt was okay, but this is…just unnerving. Yea, the hands have no youth and the hair is too long and too bulky straight…boy, I just don’t understand why I am so freaked out with this one?
I can’t wait to order this figure on Friday January 18th! Those complaining about “another Luke” figure, stay off the site so you don’t mess it up for those of us who do want it!
well, i’m undecided until i see more, i am not a huge luke fan, and have yet to purchase one….but i like this so far.
I have been literally waiting to even start collecting these until i see a vader! too many figures are being made and many many fans (myself included) are losing interest in the line altogether. we’re NOT going to go back and get all the core figures after waiting 2 years for a freaking vader. 12 years if you count hasbros POOR job!

I’m worried about the face sculpt right of the bat. I couldn’t even recognize what character it was going to be from the pic until I opened up the ppo page. This is probably the most iconic luke, if you screw this one up your going to have a lot of unhappy fans. Your han and bespin/rotj luke your great. The hair needs to be lighter in color too!!
