Star Wars Duel of the Fates Diorama - Episode I: The Phantom Menace
  1. Steve says:

I agree, there’s lots of other great Star Wars battles that would make great diorama, and can’t wait to see where they decide to go with it. But I kinda have to agree with leo8506, and not being negative either, but StarWars is so great, at least make the scenes more interesting, and I also agree that the sabers should be lit, I mean, they are lit up when they fought, no? So I will pass on this one, righteous as it may be, and hope that the next ones will be a little more imaginative for the money we’re asked to pay. All in all I guess I am a bit disappointed.

  2. DarthVerbo says:

Wow, After Anakin-Obi Duel and Yoda-Dooku turned out so darn good, I will get this one for sure. Please do every lightsaber battle in this diorama format! OOOOOOOOOOW, what about a Geonosian Jedi battle. Think of the possibilities! Mace VS Jango. You guys could go on and on and on!

  3. x0mage says:

    Agghh,

Just the one picture does not do this justice to, I’m sure, the piece. If at all possible it would be pretty killer have the lightsabers light up (as other’s have suggested already), but just as cool and even more so would be if you could have Darth Maul’s eyes blaze red.. Now wouldn’t that be something that would Rock!

  4. Kurt Moore says:

Well now you’ve gone and done it. Time was with SSC I could turn down a few of these, every now and them. Now I’m going to be forced to sign over my retirement check to SSC. Oh well, who needs food, heating, or a car anyway?

  5. Aaron says:

Sideshow, you amaze me. Truly remarkable!! One of the finest diorama’s I have laid my eyes on. The design, the sculpt, the pose, everything is superb. Keep ‘em comin’.

  6. Chwinwin says:

Are you kidding me?!?! When will you give my credit just a slight rest? A Breather if you will. What a brilliant action scene!! Your best yet!!

  7. Neil says:

that was such a good part of the movie and to bad the rest wasnt that great in my opinion :-\

  8. Frankierock says:

Only one can top this!! An Episode IV : Vader vs Obi Wan!! yes next please.

  9. Jedistrong says:

This is my Favorite fight scene in all of the starwars movies! I think this will be an excellent addition to my collection! I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures! Great Job!!!

  10. Luanne says:

Anything with that gorgeous hunk maul, still my guy

  11. John for Return of the Jedi says:

Star Wars will have to be Obi vs Vader
Empire will be Luke vs Vader in the Carbonite Chamber
Jedi should be on the Skiff, Luke vs Boba and Weequay!

  12. Henry says:

oh and a Mace Windu vs Jango Fett diorama! now we are talking!

  13. Henry says:

oh and Obi Wan vs Darth Vader Diorama from the original Star Wars….. yes!

  14. Henry says:

why do you need lights? lights attract bugs. blech! How about a wookie premium format???? or a wookie diorama from the clone war?

  15. Marcio says:

Just perfect! The best ligthsaber fight in all Star Wars saga is now avaliable in this amazing figure set!

  16. bruce leeroy says:

I love SSC, believe me I do. And I’m pretty happy with my Ani vs. Obi dio. But from that pic, this looks absolutely ridiculous.

  17. jorel says:

    hot hot hot

  18. Kurt Moore says:

Fantastic! This will look great next to my Obi Wan vs. Anakin diorama. I can’t wait to add it to my collection. The detail is hyperaccurate and the colors seem to leap off of the statue. This is definate must have.

  19. Doe says:

I am a big SW fan, but I do not collect ( I have a few old toys and 12″ dolls from the late 80′s/early 90′s ). This piece looks great, but my wallet doens’t go that far…..boo hoo. Hopefully someone will be able to grab this awesome piece.

  20. Mario says:

LIGHTSABERS DO NOT LIGHT UP ;(

  21. Mario says:

IS SO F…… GREAT IS FANTASTIC THATS A GREAT BATTLE ON ALL STAR WARS SAGA I LOVE THIS DIORAMA THANKS YOU SIDESHOW I WANNA SEE ALL THE PICS ALL READY

  22. PPK says:

Great work,Sideshow, too bad it was such a dreadful movie.I don’t think it was Jar Jar’s fault,I completely blame George Lucas and his dumming down of the prequels.Anybody who doesn’t see this is absolutely blind or just making excuses. The original trilogy wasn’t anything spectacular, but it didn’t insult the intelligence like episodes 1,2,and 3.Either way, a great sculpt by your Godlike artisans!!!

  23. John Catsle says:

    Wow!

This is going to be awesome.

Keep up the great work Sideshow!

  24. Tango78 says:

This is so cool, cant wait to see the rest of it. Sideshow you are doing a great job on the Star Wars dioramas and PF figures too, I am looking so much forward to Anakin PF

Any chance of seeing some Indiana Jones PF pictures soon???

  25. Rich S. says:

This concept is right on the money. The dueling scenes are fantastic and are really well done. Now that we have seen Episode III, then II and now I can we expect more from this line starting with A New Hope. You can take this line in a number of different directions but I am hoping you get a Vader vs. Obi-wan or Luke vs. Vader in there at some point. I look for you to improve on each one as technology gets better. Thanks!!

  26. jojo says:

can you do a light-up exclusive version pleeeaase

  27. Zabrak Nut says:

Tempting… VERY tempting. This should be an amazing piece – and I have to say, anyone who allowed Jar-Jar to ruine their experience of this movie is just a poor sport. It’s like Beast Wars to classic transformers fans, and Gundam Wing was to classic Gundam fans back in the day. THAT aside, I doubt I am not, under any circumstances, going to be able to pay for this. So it’s a “pass”… I’m really hoping to see some more of Maul in some of Lucas’ tv series coming out – especially after Ray Park said that he “loves his character and would take up an offer to come back as Maul for television in a heartbeat” (something to that effect)>

  28. sniperspawn says:

I have been looking forward to this, from what I can tell very cool it would even be better if it had a light up version, I want to see a 360 on this

  29. ARC says:

This is one that I am going to have to get for sure!!! Looks great can’t wait to see more!

  30. starfox says:

Heck Yeah! How much is this going to be? Do the lightsabers illuminate? need more info, feed me!

  31. leo8506 says:

Sorry forgot to add, the scene I would of loved would have been Obi-Wan slicing Darth Mauls light saber in two. The fact that sideshow could of portrayed Darth Mauls shock as he finally realised that he wasn’t invincible would have been great. Better still would of been the dying Qui-Gon lying helplessly on the floor (light saber wound included). Now that would have been a top class diorama.

  32. leo8506 says:

Bit of a disappointment, no light up feature, no light saber action and to top it off the only action taking place is Liam Neeson AKA Qui-Gon Jinn taking a kicking. Sorry Sideshow but your other Vs diorama’s (Marvel) are so much better take for example Wolverine impaling Sabertooth with his claws, while Sabertooth digs for a few spare ribs. Or even Spiderman swinging into action against Sandman, web shooting from his hand, while Venom sneaks from below poised to strike.

Sorry to be so negitive but I feel Star Wars deserves better.

  33. Indyroh says:

I love it!! It seems as though the statues/diaramas done by Sideshow are much better than the 12″ figures. This is a great set up from the 12″ ANH Luke!! Looking forward to more work and creativity like this!

  34. astro666 says:

Truly the best scene from Episode I. Looks good so far, great job SS.

  35. Jordan says:

    This. Is. Amazing.

Truly amazing Sideshow, great addition to the collection.

  36. Miranduviel says:

…*still* waiting for tall, dark, and gruesome evil charismatic separatists in ALL the wrong places…
    Where’s Count Dooku?!

  37. Morts56 says:

Wow, I am going to have to buy a new display case. With the Yoda vs Dooku diorama coming soon, my first one will be filled. Looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the full pictures!

  38. darthverbo says:

I love this one. I hope Sideshow gets to all the duels in the diorama form. It looks great!
I would love to see a PF Qui-Gon and PF Episode 1 OBI get made. They would display wonderfully with the PF Maul. I could make my own HUGE diorama! For now, I’ll enjoy this one.

  39. Joshua Leisner says:

Way to go SS- you picked the only interesting multiple-character scene from Ep. I, kudos! What’s next, another Obi-Wan vs. Jango (wet)?

  40. Sideshowbob says:

I haven’t been collecting the dioramas. This one may make me finally cave. Hey, SS–any change of a 1/6 scale Padawan Obi Wan? My Qui Gon is lonely. Maul is not. Maul does not get lonely.

  41. Barry says:

This looks great, I would love a Gui Gonn PF figure as he is our very own Irish Jedi Master and we are very proud of him.

  42. SWDave says:

How big? As large as Obi and Anakin? Or size of Sandtrooper Dio?

Can’t wait to see more pics!!

  43. DarkKnight2k4 says:

    AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it. The kick is dead on… only thing better would have been the killing blow !

Can’t wait to have this piece !!!!!

But I really want to see the environment around it as well.

  44. Ty says:

Very cool but not that great.

  45. DaDragon says:

    AWESOME!!! Got to have . . .Got to have . . .Got to have . . .

  46. Drewster says:

Good lord this looks a bit special!! I think I’m gonna start collecting these dioramas. They’re amazing.

  47. Brett M says:

The small print says “lightsabers do not light up.

  48. johnnysky2002 says:

    WOO~!!!

    IT’S SO GOOD~

    NICE JOB!!

  49. theropod says:

This may be the first of this series that I pick up. They all look good, but it’s getting tougher to ignore this line.

  50. Riibu says:

Not fair, I love this! But I can’t justify spending the money when I have no place to put it. Rats…

  51. sebulbajohnny says:

I dunno…think these are as good as those animated banks from a few years ago?? ;)

  52. Kyle W. says:

    Great Job!

  53. Can Dincer says:

Could be a better preview photo. but i’m sure Sideshow did a great job with this piece. i hope they reveal the full photos before next week pre-order time. i can’t wait to see the whole dioroma. I think this one has a light up feature aswell.congrats and thank you SS.

  54. Ian says:

    I was hoping for mid-impale! :)

  55. Tetsuoh says:

The blades of the lightsabers look real good.

  56. Seretur says:

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan look perfect — it’s Maul doing the splits that has me worried. But this might be the angle more than anything.

Which also means the piece will be darn difficult to pose. If only Maul faced the other way…

Then again, this is a definite preorder, and this line is your current flagship, guys. Hopefully the final piece will be as big a masterpiece as the first two.

Oh, and — this is totally the generator room, right? Can’t wait to see what the base is like!

  57. tomandshell says:

    Do the lightsabers ignite?

  58. MesaScott says:

    Lights???

  59. Peyton Westlake says:

    YES!!!!!

  60. DarthNeil says:

FANTASTIC! This will look phenomenal displayed with Anakin vs. Obi and Yoda vs. Dooku– any chance for 100 faux bronze versions?…
