Product Backstory
Trying to earn his place within the Inner Circle of the supervillain Hellfire Club, mutant illusionist Jason Wyngarde, known as Mastermind, begins to secretly manipulate the X-Men's Jean Grey. The subversion is slow but steady, although Wyngarde is unaware of the danger in his dabblings, not knowing that Jean Grey holds the Phoenix Force. The X-Men infiltrate the Hellfire Club in hopes of learning more about their enemy, but are soon discovered. In the subsequent clash, Mastermind's manipulation of Grey leads her to turn against her teammates, joining the Hellfire Club as its Black Queen, and awakening the Dark Phoenix.Product Photo Gallery
