Product Backstory
Long ago in the waning days of the Second Age, Sauron, the living embodiment of evil in Middle-earth, has succeeded in subjugating nearly all its free peoples to his ruthless domination. But a last alliance of Men and Elves join together their remaining forces in one final effort to confront the Dark Lord's armies outside his fortress in the fell land of Mordor. On the slopes of Mt. Doom the valiant Numenoreans and Elves fight side by side for the freedom of Middle-earth, and it seems that together the armies of light will win the day.Then, Sauron himself, towering above all and clad in evil black armor, wades into the battle. It is the fearless Numenorean infantrymen who first encounter the devastating power of Sauron's enormous war mace. A single swing of the cruel weapon sends a dozen soldiers hurtling through the air to their dooms. The remaining men rush valiantly forward, ignorant that Sauron is invulnerable in battle as long as he wears the One Ring. In the end, it is the Ring that will determine the ultimate destiny of all Middle-earth.

Wow...incredible piece and amazing detail!
I was blown away by the fine details and size of this Dio. As with the "Treachery of Saruman" Dio (another must-have), I love how the figures are portrayed as "falling off" the base. I hope to see more of these effects in the future. Even the rippling effects of Saurons cape looked startingly real.
