  1. Patrick says:

I am so glad that I got a better job…Now I can finally afford great looking Dios like this one, and to all the naysayers that are griping about it “not going down quite like tis in the movie”…who cares, it’s the spirit and Symbolism that count. Great looking piece.

  2. Skystalker says:

Luke was knocked out of the saddle first. Then the Tauntaun was strangled.

  3. Joey D says:

Looks amazing!! After looking at the other pictures of the scene I like how Luke is reaching for his light saber during the surprise attack. Luke is not going out without a fight!

  4. Tango78 says:

It looks cool and everything, but it’s not really a classic Star Wars scene so I’ll have to pass. I’d rather wait for the next vs. diorama with Darth Vader that you said you would make

  5. roguebaron says:

a home run…that went foul just before the wall. sorry sc, realy disappointed in this as a final piece. It has many great elements, the posing is great, and it has a smooth visual flow, but the final paint and facial details make this one a no go for me.

  6. spikes_soul says:

As much as these figures cost, all of them should be screen acurate as possible. The face on this one does not look anythying like Luke at all!

  7. Sir Tristram says:

Wait a second….Didn’t Luke get knocked out and off his Taun-Taun BEFORE the Taun-Taun was grabbed and killed by the Wampa?
This depicts the Taun-Taun getting grabbed and killed first!

  8. Ray says:

The expresion on the taun taun is great, looks very real. But this one I will let it pass, even though I am a Star Wars fan.

  9. Avi Yadav says:

By the term “Ambush on Hoth”, I thought Sideshow made a Diorama of the Imperial invasion of the Ice Planet (wasn’t thinking about Wampas or Taun Tauns at the time…). Boy, would I get that (the AT-AT’s and the Snowspeeders would look awesome!!)! Anyways, the Diorama that Sideshow has here is not bad either.

  10. konig from stuttgart says:

    Marty Fledman to a T.
    We have a combination piece.
Sideshows first ever Young Frankenstein piece and also there first Empire Statue!

  11. Bangbus says:

Does anyone else notice that the taun taun bares a striking resemblance to the late Marty Feldman, (Igor in Young Frankenstein)??? Hmmmmmm. Also wasn’t that snow monster in the movie Monsters INC. ?????

  12. Gonzalo says:

Good sculpt, but this is part of esb infinities, it doen´t appears
on classic esb. In the Original trilogy, the wampa attacked Luke first and then the tauntaun.

  13. darthverbo says:

Sorry Lee my mistake. I thought your comment was directed at my observation that the dio is not screen accurate.

  14. Lee Woody says:

Hey DarthVerbo I am talking in general about the seen, being in the movie period some one said that this was never in the movie

  15. allstarbatman says:

I trade a sack of flour for this diorama!

  16. puay says:

For the first time I can no longer resist the temptation of getting a Polystone Diorama.

  17. Chad Thacker says:

the taun taun’s head sculpt is….
different. I have bought every sideshow star wars piece. Even considering lifesize droids. may skip this one. Would really like to see a hero bust sometime soon. Seems that sideshow has favored dark side in regards to these amazing pieces. Just sayin…

  18. DarthVerbo says:

I don’t care if it is movie accurate either Skull. It is very cool. I hope we see alot more original trilogy dios in the future. I also hope we see that darn 12 inch Han Solo in Carbonite EXPANSION PACK to go with Jabba! :)

  19. DarthVerbo says:

Hey LeeWoody, watch the ESB again and look at the dio. Luke is knocked off 1st and then he grabs the Taun Taun. Luke is still on the Taun Taun in the dio.
I don’t care either way. i love this piece. I just hate when people have no idea what they are talking about.

  20. Josh says:

I think it looks awesome, but yet i can’t help but feel that the mauling of the Tauntaun & his expression, is pretty questionable. Artistically, it’s fantastic, but just a bit “cruel” looking. And, i suppose, in keeping w. film accuracy, it might be cooler to see the Wampa mauling at Luke as he’s falling off of the tauntaun. Truly is a dynamic piece, but i’m just not sure how i feel about the “cruelty aspect” (even though the tauntaun is a mythological species!).

  21. Sharpy says:

Hey look, it’s Undertaker vs Taun Taun… sweet! :P

  22. Chris says:

Wow! This is awesome! Does the Wampa’s arm detach?

  23. KC says:

Would like to see more angles. I’m a sucker for anything Hoth.

Would love to see a sculpt of the deleted scene with Slave Leia & Jabba – lol – just kidding for anyone taking me seriously. What’s 2+2, damn… now that’s a tough one!

  24. DarthJimmy says:

Looks cool all in all, but the taun taun looks like its on drugs.

  25. Sideshow Keith says:

    Awesome! I’m getting one!!!

  26. Skullsplitter says:

First off I’d like to say. I don’t care one bit if it’s “Movie accurate” or not. This is(from what I can see) is an amazing sculpt, period. You can almost feel the intensity in the all faces of the characters. Amazing work Sideshow!

  27. Rock says:

It looks ok but if we are to follow the movies didn’t Luke get hit 1st?

  28. Lee Woody says:

First I want to say good job the sculpt it right on and captures the suffering in the tauntauns eyes, and second for those who say this is not in the movie watch at least sit down and watch it its there right after Luke gets knocked off before complaining at lest watch the movie so you know what you are talking about or better yet read the book. Great job Side Show

  29. mr copas says:

Sweet,i like this diorama its a great choice and for those who say this is to violent whatever. its not like the wampa is asking them to come back to his cave and have a cup of tea…nice job guys

  30. Michael O. says:

Wow this looks really great. Finally a scary looking Wampa. The vintage toy looked like a stuffed animal. The Hoth enviroment was my favorite of all the scenes that were in the original trilogy.

  31. darth_myeek says:

SS, you really “nailed” the tauntaun, but the Wampa kinda looks like a mousse addict.

    -DM

  32. shockwave says:

    Pass, ’nuff said..

  33. konig in stuttgart says:

    W to the izz A
    M to the pizz E
    E to the izz A
    WAMPA

  34. HATESCALPERS says:

the tauntaun has hypertension or he is the son of MARTY FELDMAN.

    Fix the eyes!!!

  35. sideshowbob says:

    Mmmmmm. Tauntaun. Gurgl,gurgulh, gurgl . . .

  36. Joe says:

I like the Wampa idea, I think having the Wampa blingsiding Luke off the Taun Taun would have looked better instead of the almighty choke hold? Not sure on this one… but overall looks good.

  37. DarthVerbo says:

This scene is wrong. The Wampa attacks Luke 1st then kills the tauntaun. The Wampa should be swinging at Luke. Just kidding. I’m not THAT fan…the one that complains if the about every little detail. I actually think this dio is fun. I’m getting it. I’m suprised people think this is morbid. No guts and blood. I wouldn’t put this in a kid’s room, but I would put it in my SW room! :) Way to think out of the box once again Sideshow.

  38. michael says:

Okay, is it me, or does the tauntaun almost have a “simpsonesque” sort of look to it with the “doh” look??? :P

  39. Frank says:

awesome! the world needs more Wampas!

  40. Dan says:

its about time you people..and i might add “SOMEONE” has done a wampa.
now what you people at SS need to do next is a premium format wampa.
NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! come on SS. give what the fans and collectors want.
your next diorama should be the Vader choking out of captin antillies in ANH. that would ne killer!!!

  41. Brad says:

Sculpt looks great. I’m guessing the Wampa is standing erect, and the tauntaun/Luke are at the acute angle?

  42. John says:

Woah ! This will give me nightmares. A little too graphic and disturbing for my collection. Pass

  43. Mike says:

I have and love all of the Star Wars Dioramas! This one will takes it’s right place amonst my others. Bravo, I love the choice.

  44. Henry says:

it is nasty? then wouldn’t the movies be nasty as well if not nastIER? I think it’s AWESOME of course and I am glad we are getting a diorama from one of the first 3 films! Now, what about Luke in the Rancor pit with the Gamorrean Guard or luke, leia, han and chewie in the garbage disposal or Vader and Obi Wans Face Off? Whatever is next, just HURRY UP! I am going to be 100 years old before this stuff comes out.

  45. siyomi3 says:

Wanpa seems something like melting. I prefer more ‘fur’-like looking. I can hardly watch taun taun’s eye, he (she?) is now really dying…. I hate to say but I wouldn’t display this in my room.

  46. Todd says:

Great sculpt. I love the scene where Luke and the Wampa try to get the Taun-Taun to take it’s pills.

I’m all in for this order.

Thanks Jason, thats the biggest laugh I’ve had in a while. On the other hand, not really impressed, maybe it’ll look better from another angle.

  47. Nick Gayzoor (is my Star Wars name) says:

Thanks for finally returning to the original trilogy. I might buy this. I want stuff based on characters who had dialogue. How about a Lando, Greedo, Rebel trooper, droids, enviroments to place the figures in, Admiral Akbar, slave Leia, jawa, Tusken Raider or any of the other character who either have dialogue or whose names are mentioned in the course of the movies?

  48. Reinaldo (SOLIDSNAKE) says:

WOW !! that looks sweet !! cant wait to see full pics.
    Good job guys !

  49. Tango78 says:

Looks great, cant wait to see the rest of it

  50. Baris Duzalan says:

Is there such a scene in ESB? Some things are left out for a reason…this is a bit over the line to my opinion. I’m suprised how Lucas gave an “ok” to this.

  51. John White says:

Really looks cool Maybe do one where Han Shouves luke into the Taun Tauns innards That would look Bizare yet cool on a persons desk

  52. Johnny says:

    PREQUEL TRILOGY RULES !

  53. theropod says:

Jason’s comment “Great sculpt. I love the scene where Luke and the Wampa try to get the Taun-Taun to take it’s pills.” should win a mouth off and win prize for best comment ever.
    -theropod

  54. darthram says:

I call this statue a waste of time…good job sideshow on maintaining your own job security..keep making junk..will just keep waiting for the good stuff..

  55. Joey Crack says:

I love the WTF expression on Luke as well as the expression on the TaunTaun!! Perfect execution! Now how about a Han/Chewie/Probe Droid Companion Piece?! :)

  56. Jason says:

Great sculpt. I love the scene where Luke and the Wampa try to get the Taun-Taun to take it’s pills.

I’m all in for this order.

  57. CINDY MARTIN says:

nice this looks really cool cant wait to see full pic of the diorama great job ss

  58. roguebaron says:

nice to see a return to the origional 3, taun taun looks excellent.

  59. andre says:

Geeez! Too graphic! You really oughta get more fan feed back as to what WE want, this is just nasty.

  60. Bishop says:

Me want. Nice to see this line getting out of the prequel trilogy and into the good stuff!!

  61. Rose says:

    I like this one.

  62. Andy says:

    looks awesome!

  63. DarthVerbo says:

Sweet! That is what is so cool about these dios. Sideshow can go anywhere and do any scene! FANTASTIC!
