  1. Michael24 says:

@bruhn LOL! A true fan would never say that a true fan must hate something. I’ve been an Indy fan since I was a kid, and I enjoyed “Crystal Skull” a great deal. It was no more over-the-top than the others.

  2. bruhn says:

Fact is: If you really love “Indy” – you must hate “Skull”.

True and loyale Fans can’t accept this embarrassing ANTI-Indiana Jones-Movie

  3. Linda says:

He’s looking good again, i have the 1ste Indy and he’s awesome. Still i hope the next one will be another character and hopefully HENRY JONES. Sean Connery needs another statue of him in his older years. So please give us a Henry Jones.

  4. Tango78 says:

We need a Premium Format Temple Of Doom Indy, with ripped shirt and machete, that would be so awesome!!!

  5. DD says:

Looks great. But still waiting on the Last Crusade Indy PF!! And the Henry Jones PF. And the Dr. Elsa Schneider PF …;) I’d buy them all.

  6. Bill says:

Hey sideshow, while i will be adding this to the collection for sure, i am a little stumped as to why there is another Indy PF already since the ROTLA PF was only recently released not long ago, but there is no updated Han Solo as yet?
Would be great to have a ROTJ Endor Han Solo PF with a new head sculpt, cause these Indy head sculpts are amazing!!!

  7. LPT says:

I already placed an order for this one. I can’t wait to see the final result. As some people already pointed out, this prototype doesn’t look at all like Harrison Ford, and the costume is not like the one he wore in Crystal Skull, but I guess that’s why they call it a prototype. I am sure the final result will be fantastic and hope to see many Premium Format Figures from the Indiana Jones universe in the future. Marion Ravenwood is my personal favorite.

  8. Brent says:

Looks like Ford–20 years in the future.

  9. Jim says:

Sideshow, looks great! BUT, PLEASE do something about that whip, it looks very un-natural being curled up so perfectly circular, the whip on the 1st Indy PF was great :)

  10. tomandshell says:

I know that Sideshow can’t ship food products outside the US. So does that mean that EU customers won’t be getting the Exclusive Red Apple accessory revealed in the product photo gallery?

  11. Bo says:

Great looking figure! Yes, there are some inconsistencies between the prototype and the screen version of the character, but we’ve all seen Sideshow alter their products pre-production to create a more accurate appearance before they get sent to us. They will do it again here. As for me, I’m going to pass on this figure, as KotCS is a crappy movie, and I prefer to trick myself into believing it never happened. But, Sideshow, please don’t let the overall lukewarm reception of this figure deter you from carrying on with the Indy line. This premium format line coupled with the 12-inch figure line are Godsend to us Indy fans who have gone far too long without quality representation the man in the hat.

  12. Minnesota Jones says:

It’s not “nitpicking.” I love Sideshow as much as the next guy. I’ve been a loyal customer for awhile now and given a lot of money to them over the years for some wonderful items. I love this place! We simply want it “right.” I’m sure the photo above used a Raiders Premium Figure’s elements for a teaser, but the “gear” of Indy is very different in all 4 movies, and even more so in the new movie. These “small” details may be small to some, but they add up to an overall look. Just look at any studio shot of the gear and you’ll see what I mean. I trust that Sideshow will do us right and give us a corrected holster and gunbelt, bag strap and buckle, and proper jacket for this figure.

  13. Mitchell Hallock says:

A Mola Ram statue holding up a burning heart… now that would be scary and earn my 250.00!

<aybe… but not today… hopefully that will be coming soon!

  14. phil says:

Why does he look so old and pudgy? He didn’t look THAT old in the movie

  15. Adam McDaniel says:

I’m a bit disappointed that they opted to do ANOTHER Indy figure, as opposed to another character from the films. But even that aside, surely a TEMPLE OF DOOM Indy would have been the ideal choice, if they were to make another version of the character.

  16. Kappa says:

Just received the first Indy PF last week , It looks awesome , i am looking forward to se this in final release , Keep it up sideshow!

  17. Les David says:

Bravo! I can’t wait to add another Indiana Jones piece (from Sideshow) to our museum. Keep up the great work :)

  18. eric says:

Looks good so far. I’m really pleased with the first PF you did. If that’s any indication I’ll more than likely be picking this up. Still, hoping you make a few other characters. A Marion from ROTLA (white dress), Mola Ram and Henry Sr. would add some nice variety. They brought Marion back for a reason guys. Mola Ram was just too cool and evil looking and Henry Sr.? Hey, it’s Sean Connery what more needs to be said.

  19. David says:

To all you nit picking complainers: I defy you to find another company who does such accurate work, and such honor to the character.
Worth every penny Sideshow!- keep it up!…

  20. Chris says:

I don’t care which character you guys pick, I’m just so glad you’re making Indiana Jones collectibles!!! Thanks Sideshow!!

  21. Misterroh says:

    Great job, guys!

  22. Joe says:

Uh, guys, this isn’t people just nitpicking that the belt is the wrong color or something. It’s a legitimate concern that the bag strap, holster, belt and jacket are all *very clearly* wrong and inaccurate to the sorce material, and that the jacket is also very much the wrong length, not to mention the fact that it should look more distressed and not brand new as it does here. I want to love this piece, but there really is no excuse for so many blatant inaccuracies as this piece shows. I mean would you accept a Darth Vader PF in dark brown armor? Or a Spider-Man in orange and blue? I mean they’d look kinda close to the originals too, but they still wouldn’t be right, so why accept such treatment for Indy? Close enough isn’t good enough. Details matter. Things are either accurate or they’re not. This isn’t, and all most of us guys pointing this stuff out want to see is an Indy that truly does look like the Crystal Skull incarnation of the character, which right now this doesn’t quite cut it as. I hope this is just Sideshow taking shortcuts for the sneak preview, and they will not be re-using left overs from the original Indy PF, but will instead be striving to bring their quality stamp to making this PF as screen accurate as is reasonably possible. Anything less won’t be getting my money, that’s for sure.

  23. michael t. miller says:

ok. i am not one for letting the general public know my true feelings but the time has come to break the silence. let me introduce myself. i AM an indiana jones collector. and for those of you who do not know what a collector is then let me explain it to you. a collector is someone that finds a certain something that somehow has affected his and or her life in such an impact that they choose to dedicate part of their life to collecting and preserving items that were made in honor of that thing. i am without words everytime i find out that a new indiana jones item {big or small} is coming out and i thank each and every company that does so regardless of how they choose to make it. so please…i beg of all of you… accept the pieces that are made for what they truly are…a tribute to a wonderful movie character and an even more wonderful actor. “look upon a tree and you will not find 2 leaves the same. does this make the tree less of a tree or more of one?”

  24. Kurt G. says:

I’m impressed Sideshow! I received the “Raiders” PF Indy a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE IT! Judging by the teaser video, your new “Crystal Skull” Indy will compliment the “Raiders” one perfectly. They’ll look awesome as bookends in my den! I have to respectfully disagree with some of the others who have left comments. The exact color shading of the jacket, bag strap and holster are not the defining characterstics of “Crystal Skull” Indy. ANY color will appear lighter or darker depending on the amount and type of light that is illuminating it. No, the defining characteristic of “C.S.” Indy is the fact that the character (Indy) and the actor (Ford) is 20 years older than he was in Raiders of the Lost Ark. If the preview video holds true to the final product, then you have captured the age and experience (it’s not the age, it’s the mileage)of “Crystal Skull” Indy wonderfully!!! I think your two Indiana Jones Premium Formats are the perfect tribute to the beginning and the end of the greatest action/adventure franchise ever!! So, I guess I’ll be dipping into the old savings account again when this new PF becomes available. Keep up the great work Sideshow!

  25. Anakin Skywalker says:

    AWESOME!
I can’t wait to see the
    full photo! :)

  26. the Flock in MD says:

I wonder if Sideshow has the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles license as well.

  27. jedimike says:

The very first premium Indy was Awesome, I don’t expect that this one will be any less. I agree with most everyone here when said about a Temple of Doom Indy with the ripped version and machete and I can’t imagine that sideshow won’t do this at some time. I won’t say that The Crystal Skull was the worst of the series, both Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull had some weak elements. Truth of the matter is Sideshow is portraying a moment in the time of Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford as he has aged and not the actual movie itself that it was taken from. I applaud Sideshow for keeping the ideas flowing, I think the Premium Crystal Skull has great potential. I know im ready to prepurchase it.

  28. Jae says:

I think the less crystal skull-like and more general the better in this case.

  29. andre says:

    To number 6, you listen!
There are VERY pronounced differences in the Indy KOTCS outfit, and it’s just as crucial to capture these in this figure as it is to get the correct likeness.
Just because this INDY isn’t one of your historical PFs, doesn’t mean it warrants any less attention.

  30. Number 6 says:

Okay, while I would have vastly preferred a Temple of Doom Indy with the torn shirt and machette, or even a Mola Ram, or Henry Jones sr, or even a Young Indy from Last Crusade, I’m not as against this piece as a lot of folks seem to be, as surprising as it is to see.

What I am disappointed by however is just how poorly captured the detailing is. First up the jacket is way, way too short. In Crystal Skull Indy wore the longest jacket in all his film appearances, and so this one is very visibly wrong, and is clearly just a re-coloured Raiders jacket. But there we have anbother problem, not only is the jacket all wrong, length wise, but the color is way off too. Indy had a much lighter colored jacket in Crystal Skull, but here the jacket is instead darker than the Raiders PF one, and way, way way too dark for a Crystal Skull jacket.

Additionally the bag strap in Crystal Skull was very dark brown, almost black looking, but here, once again Sideshow has it wrong with the leather brown they have used. Indy’s pants belt should also be a shade or two lighter, while his holster should be very dark brown, almost black, instead of the brown shown here.

For this piece to be a proper, screen accurate representation of Indy from Crystal Skull these details must be addressed and fixed before this piece hits production, anything less would be giving a first rate character second rate treatment, and Indy, and his fans, not to mention your customers, deserve better. After all we pay big money for these pieces, the least you could do is get the broad stroke details on the piece accurate. I mean this isn’t merely nitpicky “the belt buckle isn’t 100% accurate” type stuff here, this is just getting the basic outfit as seen in Crystal Skull correct so that the piece truly represents Indy from that film.

Please get it right Sideshow, it’s not too late.

  31. Minnesota Jones says:

Wonderful. But the holster should be DARK brown/almost black. The gunbelt should be reversed (backwards) AND the bag strap should be on the OUTSIDE of the jacket. These minor differences is what make the Crystal Skull look different from the other movies. Can’t wait to see a close up of the sculpt!

  32. Bill D. Cat says:

Don’t listen to the whiney little fanboys, SS. This PF is looking good.

  33. Con says:

i dont mind another indy, but it would have to be real real special to stand out and above from the previous PF. That is gona be hard to top and the exclusive is gona have to be very very cool.

  34. tango78 says:

WOW It looks great, definitely gonna pick this one up, but would have prefered a Temple of Doom Indy or maybe other characters like Mola Ram or Henry Jones Sr. Guess we will have to wait for them.
    Great Job Sideshow

  35. Brandon says:

I’m quite sad it’s not the Temple Advance poster pose, or perhaps even Mola Ram!!! I can live with this piece though because it’s not obviously Crystal Skull…but still. I’m with you SilentSurfer!

  36. theropod says:

I was hoping for a Mola Ram PF, but I might still be interested in this one once some more pics are released. Does the Exclusive come with a fridge door?

  37. tomandshell says:

OK, now give us Mola Ram or Henry, Sr. at SDCC.

  38. DarkArtist says:

Very cool, I might have to get this! Would be a cool bookend to the Raiders Indy PF. I hope Trevor did the sculpting duties again.

  39. DJ says:

I dont think another Indy was the best choice for the 2nd PF in the series since there are so many other characters, even just in ROTLA but,,all I can say is as long as Trevor did the likeness, this one will be a sure winner.

  40. andre says:

I’m sorry, someone said ‘most fan loathed’, and it WASN’T Temple of Doom?! Two words, my friend; Willie. Scott.

  41. Biff says:

The color of the jacket and holster are off, but we’re used to that sort of thing by now. Why not just get some production photos or even slip the dvd in the ol’ player and get it right the first time?

  42. jedibear says:

Awwww…don’t listen to the whiners, Sideshow! Looking forward to the 360 of this one…so far, looks good.

  43. Dave says:

Where’s my Temple of Doom Indy PF?!?!?

  44. SilentSurfer says:

After watching the vid, I have to admit, that’s a nice piece. Hope it doesn’t look so old that it can’t pass for earlier films.

  45. SilentSurfer says:

Never would have guessed you’d be going to the most fan loathed of the franchise. Very curious to see the likeness though, and I’m glad you’re not liimited to just one movie, but I’ve got three words for ya: Temple of Doom
