I hope to find that a 1/4 scale Premium Format Figure of the Jedi Aayla Secura will someday be made by Sideshow…

We will pass along your suggestion. We have heard a rumor of at least one Twi’lek in the Premium Format line, although we don’t believe that it’ll be blue…

It always seemed to me the female Jedi characters of the prequel trilogy would lend themselves perfectly as Premium Format figures. Not just Aayla Secura, but Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli (also a Clone Wars character) would make for OUTSTANDING display figures. What do you guys think?

We agree, and not just for the Premium Format line. As these femme fatal Jedi get more exposure in the Clone Wars series, it becomes more and more likely that you’ll see them appear in the Sideshow range!

Will there be a chance of seeing the Gammorean Guard to compliment Jabba’s Throne set in the 12-inch Star Wars line?

There is a distinct possibility…

It’s been a year since I started collecting figures from Sideshow’s Star Wars 12-inch Figure line. They all are great figures, although I don’t have too many of them because I’m just 16 years old and my job is not the best in the world! But the ones I do have are great. My question is… Is there a chance that there will be any 12-inch figures from The Force Unleashed? (like Star Killer And Kota) Or figures like Tarkin, C-3PO & R2 and maybe Yoda? Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on your one-year anniversary! We are producing the Stormtrooper Commander from The Force Unleashed, and we do have plans for Tarkin, C-3PO, R2-D2, and maybe even Yoda.

Hi Sideshow, I love your work on the Star Wars Dioramas, so I would love to see Dioramas in the Indiana Jones line as well. Is there any chance of that being done?

Hmmm… that sounds like a very, very good idea! ;)

I was wondering if you will be making a line of Premium Format G.I Joe? …. AND …. How about G.I. Joe Dioramas (not just the environments like Recon at Waypoint 12, but full dios)?

We do have some news to share on the subject of expanded GI Joe licensing. Stay tuned to the Sideshow website, especially around the time of San Diego Comic-Con (in late July).

I love your G.I. Joe 12 inch figures. Do you plan on making newer characters like Cobra Red Ninja, Ninja Viper, etc?

Thank you! Our design & development teams are really enjoying the opportunity to work on the Joe line! Our initial focus will be on the more well-known and recognized characters. If the line continues long enough, it’s possible that you’ll see more Cobra troopers & ninjas incorporated into the line, but they’re not yet in any stage of development.

I’m curious if Sideshow would consider repairing statues that are out of warranty – for a fee, obviously? Maybe not something as small as nicks and dings, but maybe consider offering a service to repair paint chips and cracks, blemishes, broken-off polystone pieces and outfit tears. Who can fix these items better than their parents?

We often receive requests to repair older products, but it is not a service that we’re prepared to offer. It is something that we review periodically. We believe that our creative resources are better utilized ‘birthing’ new products (to piggy-back on your parenting metaphor), rather than repairing existing products. There are many talented and able members of the SideshowCollectors.com forum who may be able to service your repairs and/or give you great tips for doing it yourself!

With the Hobbit movie in the works right now, has Sideshow considered possibly returning in the future to The Lord of the Rings 1/6 scale line, as the Hobbit movie is sure to rejuvenate interest in it? …. AND …. Hello, this is not a question, just a show of support. I have thoroughly enjoyed your line of LOTR 12-inch figures, and I would be immensely interested in other characters from the story made into 12-inch figure form as well. Besides, with the coming Hobbit movie, a new Dwarf-sized body mold for Gimli could be reused 13 times over for the Dwarven characters in “The Hobbit” — as you probably are already well aware of. Anyway, thank you for wonderful work bringing the LOTR personalities to life!

Many thanks for the kind words. We share your optimism and excitement for The Hobbit, and we hope that the new films will allow us the opportunity to return to Middle-earth in a big way. At this time, we aren’t sure what the future will hold, but we’re watching the horizon with an eye nearly as big as Sauron’s!

I was wondering, now that the Marvel Legendary Scale Busts have really taken off, with four being released this year alone (please keep them coming!!), will you continue your Marvel LIFE-SIZE bust line? Even though the Marvel LSBs are very very excellent, I want more Life-Size busts!

We have been focused on the Legendary Scale Line, with the exception of the Iron Man life-size bust. We will pass along the interest in more Marvel Life-Size busts!

As an Iron Man fan, I was definitely excited that Sideshow has worked with Stan Winston Studio in producing the size Iron Man Life-Size Bust. As I saw from the Iron Man movie DVD, there were several 1:3 or 1:2 scale prototype Iron Man models designed by Stan Winston Studio shown. Is there any chance such a large-scale model will be replicated and become another amazing Sideshow product similar to the Life-Size Bust?

It is very possible – stay tuned! We plan to unveil something BIG at San Diego Comic-Con :)

Hey Sideshow, what ever happened to that Frankenstein ‘The Revenant’ 12-inch figure? I would have bought him for sure! Two of him, if you would have let me.

Great question… The Revenant prototype that was previously revealed was a very, very (very) ambitious 12-inch figure – with unique body, arms, and other new tooling that would require significant investment, and would sell for a relatively high retail price. We’re unlikely to produce the 12-inch figure as shown, but the design & concept of the Revenant is likely to be reborn in another scale and… format.

Any plans for a Wolfman 2009 version Premium Format Figure, or any other products tying into the upcoming film?

Sideshow is not currently licensed to make products from the Wolf Man remake, but it is a property that we’re watching with great interest!

What are the chances of Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis 12-inch figures to compliment Michael Myers from the original HALLOWEEN?

Michael Myers is a character that we would like to revisit in some format, but it’s unlikely that we’ll produce Laurie Strode or Dr. Loomis.

I was wondering if Sideshow plans on coming out with some new 12-inch and Premium Format collectibles for the New Line Horror productions? I would like to see a Candyman, (Psycho)Norman Bates, (Scream)Ghostface, or (Hellraiser)Pinhead. I know Mezco has been releasing some products but their products are more toys than actual collectibles. Is there a chance for any of these to be made by Sideshow?

Yes, we have considered the characters that you’ve listed, and Pinhead is probably highest on the list as a candidate for future product development. They’re not in the works now, but it is possible!

It would be great if Vampirella were made into a Premium Format Figure….any chance of that happening?…please make it happen!

Vampirella is high on our list of candidates for Premium Format. It’s not currently in the works, but she is a character that we would love to bring to life someday.

Is Sideshow going to make any more Alien or Predator Dioramas, especially from Aliens vs Predator: Requiem?

Absolutely! AVP:R is soon to get some love in the diorama department, and we do have plans to continue the single character diorama representations in 2010.

I’m so happy to have the new T-800 Premium Format Figure as part of my collection that I’d like to know if is there any chance that Sideshow will ever produce a Premium Format for the original movie (THE TERMINATOR)? And also a PF for SARAH CONNOR and T-1000 from Terminator 2? Thank you!

We don’t have any news to share yet about products from the original Terminator film, but it is a property that we’re more-than-interested in. We will also pass along the T-1000 and Sarah Connor PF suggestions!

I’ve been collecting Sideshow Premium Format Figures for years now but my main passion is video games and I would love Sideshow to make more characters from games! How about ‘VIDEO GAME LEGENDS’? My first choice would be be a PF big daddy and little sister from Bioshock, and Half Life 2 is another line I would love to be considered!

We’re also big fans of the steampunk style designs from Bioshock, and we will share your suggestion with the design team!

The Resident Evil line from Hot Toys was pretty cool. Any chance you guys (or Hot Toys) could do some Silent Hill figures? The Nurses would be incredible!

Silent Hill is high on our list of candidate properties to pursue, especially as we have a soft spot for Pyramid Head character design!

Any chance we’ll be seeing prop replicas from the earlier Mummy movies (1 and 2)? Maybe some Premium Format Figure as well??

Premium Format figures from the Mummy franchise are in development, but we are not currently developing any prop replicas from the first or second films. We did study the Book of the Dead prop for replication, but it unfortunately proved to be too difficult to reproduce in quality, durable materials.

Since there is a bit of a ‘cult’ following of ‘The Night Stalker’ (Carl Kolchak) TV show from 1974/75, are there any thoughts of producing figures from the TV series, or from the 1972/73 vintage “Night Stalker’ TV movie pilot, or the ‘Night Strangler’ follow-up TV movie?

Sorry, no plans for Night Stalker or Night Strangler!

I have seen some people on fan forums clamoring for a Mel Gibson ‘Braveheart’ and/or a Russell Crowe ‘Maximus’ in Premium Format. I share their sentiments and feel that said characters have a large following. Any chance of producing a Braveheart and/or a Maximus PF? …. AND …. The world needs premium format William Wallace and General Maximus figures, and the excellent Leonidas from 300 has only served to further wet the appetite for the destructive form of justice that the heroes of Braveheart and Gladiator could unleash! Don’t make all the fans turn this car around / come over there / beg / hold our breath / cry like a little girl / [insert whatever here]!

As we understand things, Braveheart licensing rights do not allow for Mel Gibson likeness products, and the same is true for Russell Crow in Gladiator, and Tom Cruise in … well, everything Tom Cruise has been in. We would love to include these characters in the Premium Format line, if the licensing situations ever change.

But on a more positive note and as an example, Godfather was a grail property for years, until the studios made efforts to reach out to some of the main actors, including Marlon Brando, to make video game and product rights possible. So, in time, anything is possible!

Thank you all for submitting such intriguing questions. Keep watching our Production Blog and listening to our Podcasts as we continue to answer more Ask Sideshow questions in the future!

Suggestions for Submitting a Question

Do you have a question for our Production Team? [Ask Sideshow!]

Please Note: If you would like to submit a question using the form, please remember that Ask Sideshow should NOT be used as a way to solicit for a job, contact Customer Service, ask about a shipping date, or register a complaint. Most of those questions, comments, and solicitations can be most efficiently sent to us by filling out our online Customer Service Request Form.

Also, a fair warning: Questions that ask, “Will you be doing/Why don’t you do [insert license or character name]?” will probably never be answered. We’re happy to drop hints when we can, but we cannot answer any direct questions about what we’re planning in the future for a variety of reasons, which include (but are not limited to) licensing, production, artistic contracts, and ever-changing schedules and projected release dates. Please feel free to use the form for all these sorts of questions or quasi-suggestions, BUT don’t be offended when we don’t answer to your full satisfaction… or don’t answer at all – it’s not personal, we promise!
