    Look, I collect my figs to keep and admire them, not to hope that there will be a return in investment. If I’m looking for an investment, there many more ways to make money than to keep a figure that perhaps many people already has. This is meant to be a hobby to be enjoyed by many not by a bunch of speculators who horde a large amount of figs and then find out ten years down the road nobody wants them and you’re left with nothing more than useless plastic.

    If you want a flooded market, stick to Hasbro. Sideshow is for real collectors who want value for the money they spend. A flooded market makes it easier to buy cheap and resell high on ebay if you want to turn a profit. A limited edition or low edition size makes you think twice about trying to sell if you know you may not be able to replace it if you Do sell. Sideshow is doing it right, in fact I wish they would destroy any extras they dont’ sell. My collection would be worth more and I would never sell.

    Why do people wish for low edition sizes? Planning to make a fast buck or something? I hope SSC floods the market with these figs! Been getting very hard to get these figures even with pre-ordering!

    Please fix the loose joints, some of my troopers can’t even lift their weapons to their face to aim.

    Got mine ordered :) I hope someday Sideshow exceeds Hasbro’s 12″ Star Wars line. Would love a Sideshow version of the Cantina Band to compliment Jabba’s palace. Way to go Sideshow with the Sandtrooper! Looks awesome :)

    Now that i’ve bought this ,i hope they fix the T21 light repeating blaster. I’m pretty sure it was all black (the gun & sling) and the stock was modified to be a little more modern

    i know i was getting frustrated too, then i remembered the 6pm PCT newsletter. same thing happened with the utapau trooper. i just logged on one night and it was there, with no warning.

    BucketHD - The newsletter usually posts at the Sideshow site around 6:00 PM Pacific time. You will be able to pre-order at that time.

    So it’s after noon CST when many of us were expecting this to go up for pre-order today, but there’s nothing on the site and STILL no newsletter in our emails. Sure would be nice if we knew in advance when to order this. Not all of us can sit by our computers all day long.

    Cool sandtrooper but wouldn’t it have just been easier to just make an accessory upgrade kit with an orange pauldron and the lewis gun? What would be cool is a X-wing and Tie Pilot twin pack.

    Anyone who has seen the Hot Toys Wolverine and how they handled the body with the coat off, with molded arm and chest segments, would have to agree that a HT-SSC coproduced line of aliens like Hammerhead is within reach now.
    And a 1:6 Gollum would also be doable now. Oh please make that happen. That would be the ultimate cool 12″ scale figure, a Gollum with lots of accessories and multiple heads.
    I hope when we get closer to The Hobbit, we’ll see some LOTR love again from SSC or HT. We need a Merry, Pippin, Gollum and several others in this classic storyline that was just getting into the most fantastic figures before Sideshow put it on hold.

    I agree with Nick. Chewie, C-3PO, and R2. Then I think some Cantina aliens would be cool. Hammerhead, Snaggletooth, etc.

    Still waiting for the first Sandtrooper to come out. Might need to find something to do with that one if this one looks better. Making this a three way kinda thing like the Endor troops by making a third Sandtrooper with black pauldron would have been better. Can we expect a “weapons pack” for extra stormtrooper guns or little droids for them if you don’t like the guns they come with?

    GREAT! Great with other Sandtroopers, Stormtroopers, Imperial Commanders, and VADER! Although… I would probably get this one instead of the version with the white pauldron. And while you’re on the list of Imperials, when will we get to see Tarkin make an appearance?

    This is very nice but I can’t see spending another $110 for an orange shoulder pauldron. The orange pauldron should have been an accessory for the first Sandtrooper plus I already have the RAH version which has the orange pauldron. Keep the addition size low and I may be enticed.

    It looks great!!! I had been hopeful that they would do the Sandtroopers with removable/swappable pauldron colors…. but I guess that is probably asking for a bit much.

    This really is the one everyone wanted to begin with.
    I hope they have the black armored body thing worked out for this one.
    Clone Armor Obi Wan and the regular Stormtrooper are so loose-jointed in spots.
    Awesome figure and a definite pre-order. I hope Commander Cody is not far behind.

    Another cool trooper. These are what Star Wars is all about. From taking the Tantive IV to Order 66 Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Clone Troopers, and ALL of the variants. Thank You Sideshow!!!!!!!!

    Ok, this is another Trooper or another Sandtrooper. At first glance only the shoulder piece is different.
    I would like something different than a mere repaint. There are enough regular Stormtroopers already. Time for Snowtrooper and Scouttrooper.

    This one should have been the first sandtrooper you released, but I’ll definitely be ordering it. I hope this one comes with more than just the orange pauldron to differentiate it from the first sandtrooper. That little flying probe droid that followed them in the ANH:Special Edition would be a nice accessory.

    Looking good. Sideshow is really cranking out the armored troopers, and I’ll be picking this one up as well. But when can we start seeing original trilogy Scouts, AT-AT drivers, TIE pilots,Snow Troopers, etc. in 1/6?
