YAY! I new palpatine figure! WITH CHAIR? THIS WILL BE COOL! (Dun dun dun duuun) now it would be cool if sideshow made a battle dammaged anakin with suit to make him vader
wow that is possibly the coolest palpatine set to date and i wish i could have my own palpatine so that i could have my Vader stand next to him and be his guard.
Promptly pre-ordered my set at exactly 10am and got both the exclusive and the throne. I applied points and received a total price of $140 for both. Good deal I think. Can’t wait to receive the figure and pose the Emperor in his throne. Will look awesome I’m sure and I hope Sideshow will post more pictures of the figure so collectors can get a look at the cane and other accessories. Good job Sideshow and let 2010 bring more SW collectibles

Comon, Sideshow. I know your stuff is nice, but, really, $140 for a chair for a figure? I barely pay that for me.
i placed mine right at 10 sharp and in 15 minutes later it was sold out not as fast as the vader and stormie was but fast enough i just wonder what the edition size is going to be maybe 750 or 1983 it will be interesting to see to all that got one great job and the others that didn`t sorry i know how it feels because it happened to me with the shock trooper and the sdcc luke and han stormtrooper outfit two days later i was notified that there was a cancellation on both so there might be hope still.
I placed an order for the limited edition 11 mins after 10am (PT) and I am still in the waiting list only. Looks like this “Dictator” is quite popular. Looks like it has a cane but still doesn’t have the lightning bolt.
I wonder if Sideshow will make a 12 inch Return of the Jedi version of Darth Vader with Sebastian Shaw’s face!?

We need a Premium Format of Obi Wan from Episode 3 and a new Premium Format of Vader from The Empire Strikes Back with his hand outstretched offering Luke the Galaxy. This one is a no-brainer. It will sell, sell sell.

Palpatine is my favorite character of all 6 films, and this is the way he should be seen! What about a window background to go with him?
Sideshow makes some awesome figures but their choice of figures…not so awesome! We already got a 2 pack of Palpatine. Why in the world would we hardcore collectors want another???? What about some basic figures like R2-D2, or C3PO, or Chewie???? Please give us some relevant figures instead of the same ones over and over….PLEASE!

I agree that a bacta tank environment would be great as would some Imperial Dignitaries. Keep ‘em coming Sideshow, and thanks for all your great contests too. I just got my Darla figure (that I won during Spooktacular) a couple days ago, she will look great with my other 12″ SS buffy figures, especially next to The Master.
Well, Palpatine looks awsome, especially with throne chair however purchased Excl Palpatine 12″ & own Premium F Vader, Luke, eia, Han etc, will wait 4 Premium Format Palpatine from ROTJ as that will be the one, Trust Me
Preview pictures look awesome but I hope when we order the figure we’re not just getting only the figure. Need his cane and force lightning to conclude this wonderful piece
Just saw the preview pics and it looks like there will be two different head sculpts. Nice! There’s one angry evil face and another calm face. It seems the angry face seems to come with the exclusive. If so it makes the regular version almost not worth getting at all for the lack of that vital sculpt.
I disagree with many here and think this scale is much better than PF. It’s less taxing on shelf space and you get a figure with posing options rather than a fixed-pose statue. I’m glad to see the unique hand sculpts which are more in keeping with the character rather than the standard hands most figures come with.
Pretty sweet looking figure & throne! Though I don’t know if I would pay $139.99 for a throne / chair. Sideshow, maybe u should have done it as a combo pack….let’s say $200. I can probably justified payngbfor that the. Wil need tonpass on this:(
This is definitely one of my favorite iconic moments from the OT. I agree with other comments. I’d prefer this as a PF, but will happily include this in my 1/6 collection as well.

Sideshow, now that we have Vader, the Emperor, and Luke Jedi lets ensure we complete the scene from ROTJ with Royal Guards and his Imperial Dignitaries that were seen in the film. That would be cool! Thanks Sideshow for making outstanding figures

awe-tastic trophies for $59.99 and $69.99, we never balked when they went higher. We just robbed another bank. Oh how we long for the reasonable prices of yesteryear. Sure, for supremely awe-tastic fantabulous figures the price should make one swallow hard. But it’s getting harder to fund this addiction. How do you guys do it? Must pass on some of the latest offerings or pre-order and pray that they all don’t come in at once. More power to you with the bottomless pockets.SIGH…

Oh yes, now this is one I think I want. The Thrawn chair I could easily pass on, but this? This makes sense. This I may have to lay the moolah down for. Can’t wait to get this bad boy.
Oh God yes. This is the one I’ve been waiting for. Thank you, Sideshow, for not only making an Emperor figure, but also including the chair in which he makes all of his sinister decisions.
I wouldn’t look for there to be too many accessories; probably just his walking stick and hopefully some lightning bolts (and perhaps Luke’s unlit lightsaber with the exclusive). Other than that, I really don’t see what they could give him. I’d gladly sell my prequel Palpatine/Sidious and replace it with this one, though, since this is the one from the OT and thus is more classic. Looks awesome…

I’m excited for this but am still awaiting the one in the red sith robes that he wore as seen on the movie ep 3 where he declares the conversion from republic to empire.
I also agree with BD and the guys who were disappointed with, but still bought, the prequel Palpatine set. Why didn’t you just give us this in the first place?

Back to the Emperor – lets ensure that all accessories are included. It’s not like he had many in ROTJ. Luke’s sabre hilt and cane please Sideshow and maybe some force lightning 
make the same figure and throne in premium format and i’m in.

Hope he comes with his cane as seen in ROTJ. Would be a nice accessory or possibly Luke’s sabre hilt hidden in a compartment in the chair. A must have! Great job Sideshow but not appreciating the Store Exclusive feature since I’m a military APO customer and no stores available for military shipping according to the zip code calculator
