We challenge you to 'figure it out!'

Are you an über collector or an aspiring filmmaker? Maybe you're a collector geek who just fools around with video here and there? Well Sideshow Collectibles is looking for all you creative types to participate in our 2008 Sideshow Commercial Contest, and we are ready to throw down some serious cash to the winners!

In addition to the cool cash prizes for the top three entries, we're allowing our viewing audience to bestow an additional prize to their 'Fan Favorite' commercial!

If you think you know what Sideshow Collectibles is all about and can express that in a commercial of sixty seconds or less, then get filming! A call for entries is going out now, and we will be accepting submissions until 11:59 PM (PT) on May 31, 2008.

Your movie should be a Commercial for Sideshow Collectibles

All films must highlight the company of Sideshow Collectibles. We are looking for the entry that we believe best represents the company and its sensibilities in a *clever and creative* way. Focus is not on technological prowess, but on originality. Can be formal, humorous, collector-to-collector, etc.

All entries should not be more than 1 minute (60 seconds) in length, from starting frame to end frame.

All contestants must use the 10-second segment provided by Sideshow Collectibles [Download Here] at the end of their entry. If the segment is not used, the submission will be disqualified. The 60-second time restriction of your entry includes this 10-second segment.

The Rules

1. Only two entries per person permitted.
2. All entries must be no longer than 1 minute (60 seconds) in length, from starting frame to end frame.
3. All contestants must use the 10-second segment provided by Sideshow Collectibles [Download Here] at the end of their entry. If the segment is not used, the submission will be disqualified. The 60-second time restriction of your entry includes this 10-second segment.
4. Entries may incorporate any Sideshow Collectibles products, either using personal footage of our products and/or packages or still images from SideshowCollectibles.com. Entries may not include any images of non-Sideshow manufactured product (e.g., Hasbro, Mattel, etc), nor product that Sideshow Collectibles distributes, such as Hot Toys, ACME Archives, or Medicom Toy items. Music, images, movie clips, or other Intellectual Property assets that are under copyright by any entity other than Sideshow Collectibles may NOT be used in any way.
5. Digital Entries must be in one of the following formats: .mov or .mpg. File size maximum is 100MB. Digital entries should be upload to our competition FTP. The FTP details are available here
6. Physical Entries must be in .mov or .mpg format submitted on DVD to the address below. File size maximum of 100MB. All physical entries must be sent via a trackable method, so that you can verify your submission was received. Sideshow Collectibles will not confirm or verify the receipt of physical submissions. Please note, physical entries WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

7. All entries, physical or digital, become the sole property of Sideshow Collectibles to use in any manner the company chooses. By submitting an entry you are agreeing to the 2008 Sideshow Collectibles Commercial Contest's Terms and Conditions, located here.

Winner Selection Process

Sideshow Collectibles will select the winning commercials as well as the entries eligible for voting within the 'Fan Favorite' category.

'Fan Favorite' voting choices will be posted on Thursday, July 17, 2008, with public voting open from Thursday, July 17, 2008, through 11:59 PM (PT) Saturday, July 26, 2008. Voting will be visible on the site so stop by and participate!

Uploading your Digital Entry

Digital Entries must be in one of the following formats: .mov or .mpg. File size maximum is 100MB. Digital entries should be upload to our competition FTP. The FTP details are as follows:

The second step requires you send us information about your entry. You will need to fill out our Contest Entry Form with your contact details and filename information so we can get in touch with you if you are one of our winners. Be sure to fill in all your personal information when filling out the form:

(which you have uploaded to our FTP server)

Please note: We will not send a confirmation e-mail if your file is uploaded successfully. However, rest assured that we will contact you if your file was corrupted or interrupted during upload.
