Q.I have heard that there will be a Premium Format Batman coming out and I wanted to know a release date. Also, who’s art will it be based on (Simon Bisley, Jim Lee, or Joe Mad)? Looking forward to your response, thanks!

Sideshow is deep in development on a mixed medium Premium Format Batman, largely from the minds of artist Martin Canale and our Creative Director, Tom Gilliland. It’s a fantastic, gritty representation of Batman that we feel is worthy of the character.

Q.Is it possible to start making name plates for the base of Star Wars Premium Formats, like you do with the LotR Premium Formats? I was pretty excited about the Aayla Secura until I saw the bland base it stands on. The bases for the LotR are on a whole different level and I think the other franchises would benefit from this. Thanks!!

You wouldn’t believe the internal arguments about name plates. While we agree that they can look really classy, as in the case of The Lord of the Rings line, they can also start to feel redundant. It usually comes down to design. If it can be incorporated in a subtle, complementary way, then yay! Otherwise [...]

Q.I absolutely love the G.I. Joe line. You’ve brought back the excitement I experienced as a kid collecting these incredible figures. One of my favorites as a kid was Cobra Commander in his battle armor, such as that worn on the cover of A Real American Hero #58. (Not just the helmeted version, but the full armor version w/ an entirely different outfit.) Is there any chance Sideshow will ever produce a version of this figure? Understandably the cost would be higher due to the armor, but I, for one, would be all in. Please consider this figure, if you haven’t already. You’ve nailed every figure you’ve done so far, & I’d love to own a sixth scale version of my favorite rendition of Cobra Commander!

Duly noted. We’re planning to bring a fresh, entirely new Cobra Commander to the line, with the full chromed helmet and more… but we’ll definitely give consideration to his full battle armor look too.

Q.Hi Sideshow. Curious as to whether you’ll be bringing the 1/6 AvP Predators back out? If so when can we expect them? Thank you.

That’s a question we’ll have to pose to Hot Toys, and get back to you… but stay tuned…

Q.A year or two ago I asked if you guys were plaining to make a Wolverine vs Hulk diorama. The answer I got was a maybe. I’m very disappointed that it’s been 2 years and NO Wolverine vs Hulk. I think you guys would sell out of that fast if you would only make it.

So are we, my friend. So are we. This is, in fact, a crime against humanity… comic fans… and more… and WILL be rectified.

Q.Has Sideshow had any thoughts of doing products based on HBO’s “Game of Thrones”?

Incredible show. One does not simply THINK of doing products based on HBO’s Game of Thrones…

Q.With Freddy and Jason having Premium Format figures, will Michael Myers and/or Texas Chainsaw Massacre have figures coming in 2012?

Not in 2012, no. It’s horrible, we know.

Q.Hey Sideshow I’m wondering if you will be doing a Bat-family set or a Superman set? Just waiting to get my hands on those and Fantomex!

We’re chipping away at the Bat-family immediately (1:6, 1:4 and more), but sold separately, not as a set. Same for the Super-folks. FANTOMEX… cool character.
