Why such a focus on Premium Formats lately? Joker, Deadpool, and looks like Batman too. Why no comiquette love for marquee characters?
Sunday, April 8, 2012If your interest in Comiquettes is because of the all-sculpture style, then take heart. You’ll be seeing more stylized sculptures under the Premium Format banner, and labeled as such to keep consistency in scaling. With or without clothing, if they’re 1:4 scale, they’re Premium Format. There are a lot of factors driving this decision, including production costs, sales, and Ask Sideshow trends, but we are prioritizing Premium Format (1:4 scale) over most other sculpture formats.
- PREV: Hi Sideshow! Now that Hot Toys is going quarter scale with articulation, and Enterbay has done this with the T-800, are you going to revamp or start a new line of quarter scales with articulation too? Since you distribute for Hot Toys, is this considered a conflict of interest? Thanks!

Yes, Sideshow. Please clarify what the new strategy actually means. Eq; If a mixed media character is released, will we PURE SCULPT fanatics have a crack at that same character down the road? And if so, how long would the wait time be between these releases? Could be opening a can of worms here.
So does this mean we can expect a Premium Format of the Joker 100% sculpted as well as the fabric one they have now? I’d prefer to hold out for a completely sculpted version.
Actually I don’t care, how you will call it. I’m fine as long as we can see more 1/4 100% sculpted. Looking forward ordering Apocalypse / Mr.Sinister / Rhino soon, thanks..
I hope you are going 1:4 from now on, I have wanted this for a long time – I could not see the point of 1/5 scale.
I prefered Comiquettes to PF’s as i don’t care for Fabric on statues generally, can you elaborate on the “stylized sculptures” aspect?
For example if you were to do a 1/4 statue of Iron Fist would it be mostly fabric like a PF or mostly sculpted like a Comiquette?
