Do you guys sell or can you recommend a display cabinet or shelving system for my 1:1 busts? I have 10 busts that I love and space and displaying them is something I need to resolve in order to get more. Please help.
Monday, November 26, 2012A collectibles display is a very personal thing. Display solutions vary according to taste, budget constraints, and the type and quantity of the items on display – in your case, several life-size busts.
We’re going to turn you over to the real experts here. There’s absolutely no one more qualified to help you answer that question than your fellow collectors. The Sideshow Freaks forum alone has several threads dedicated to this sort of quandary. If anyone out there has something to offer, feel free to chime in below, in the comments section. We’d love to hear everyone’s ideas for a mind-blowing collectibles display!

If u go custom they will be vry expensive. But like the rest of the guys here said, check IKEA bestas. Also check PAX wardrobs, they are huge and will fit almost everything
Sideshow, where did you get the cases that you have at muvico in thousand oaks?
Here are a couple of options for you.

Thirty-six inch pedestal display units along a really long wall or hallway looks very impressive. I prefer that to a shelf display due to the size/weight issue.
The FREAKs rock. I have been a member for about 3 months, and they have tones of suggestions including an IKEA Besta or a Pax. I highly suggest checking it out.
As long as I’ve been collecting I have been searching for museum quality display cases, antique curio and showcases, doll cases, jewelery cases, etc. Trophy cases can run in the thousands but are large enough for sideshow 1:1 busts. Michaels craft store sells sports and other cases/ shadow boxes that are usually half off and good for smaller pieces. Ikea is a great solution for an all glass $60 case tower that looks amazing and fits helmets, masks, etc. For ambitious project oriented collectors like myself, it is very easy to learn how to cut acrylic in glass with simple tools. If you get good at it you can create any size case at minimal supply costs. $50 for a custom homemade case to fit a large bust is a no brainer over going to the various doll/sports glass case websites. A custom quote for a 40in by 24 in case is going to run you over $1000 with shipping. Besides mirrored bottoms or wood trim, they are really just glass or acrylic boxes if you think about it. Hope this helps. I’ve been collecting star wars memorabilia for 16 years and build my own props, kits, spfx sculpture skills, and enjoy licensed products by companies. Sideshow has been a huge thrill as a Star Wars collector these past few years and I buy a few pieces a year.
Check out IKEA, I have two of the “DETOLF” Glass-door cabinets (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10011055/#/10119206)
