Can you explain what an artist proof is?

It is a small portion of the manufactured run reserved for special uses. Sometimes for contractual sample obligations, sometimes for the artists involved, sometimes for archive purposes. Artist Proof samples are rarely available to the public, and as such are often viewed as more valuable and desirable for the relative scarcity.

    I have an Ralph McQuarrie A/P of “Bounty Hunters”. He did the pic for Star Wars Celebration V. They had a run of 150 and I have the A/P..:)

    Artist proof’s are the holy grail to hardcore collector’s thats something that makes it really really special because it’s really really limited!
