Oh man, it feels good to be a Star Wars fan again! I have missed getting excited over this stuff.

I am a big fan of all of the novels and graphic novels that have come out over the years and hope that they look to these for some guidance. There are literally generations of explored material available with amazing characters. Each of these have been guided by the Lucasfilm structure so have been “sanctioned” so to speak so I hope what they do with the new movies keeps in line with this expanded universe. I personally would love for them to jump to Legacy line of graphic novels with Cade Skywalker and Darth Talon. The beauty of the Star Wars universe is that it is infinite and you can jump forwards and backwards in time as they did with the three prequels going back to fill in gaps in the history of the galaxy. I just hope they do better with the casting than they did for Anakin (and please no Jar Jar’s).

I’ve always been a Boba Fett fan, so I wouldn’t mind seeing a film centered on him. They’d have to develop his character a lot more, though. A young Han Solo film seems like a no-brainer… The problem with 4 out of six of these concepts, though, is that they barely expand the Star Wars universe. For a real expansion, I’m looking forward to the Seven Samurai, Star Wars style, and the live action TV series (that one could be promising… 50 scripts already on file? Even if they had to scrap or re-write half of them, that’s a full season nearly ready to go!)
Anyway, Disney’s done pretty well by Marvel Studios, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll move Star Wars forward :’)
