Happy birthday Mark Hamill and Christopher Reeve!

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

What an amazing day to be a geek! Wait, isn’t that everyday? Well we are thinking today is extra special, because today two of our inspirations share a birthday!

Mark Hamill was born today in 1951, and the late Christopher Reeve in 1952.

The Man of Steel

Both men are forever etched in cinema and pop culture history. For many of fans, Christopher Reeve will always BE Superman. He set the bar for taking an existing, iconic character and making it his own, while maintaining the integrity of what the creators and fans intended the character to be. We still miss you.

Mark Hamill was our introduction to the Star Wars universe. Seeing this world through the eyes of a farm boy, yearning for adventure is something that nerds and geeks worldwide will never forget. Let’s also keep in mind that Mark Hamill then redefined the Joker for Batman: the Animated Series, solidifying his place in our minds and hearts.

May the Force be with you!

This would be the perfect motivation I need to get into costume making. Just make a little transparent bench or something and cart him around conventions as Boba Fett.
