Sideshow Invades Toy Fair 2002!
Sunday- 02/10/02

Midnight EST - 02/10/02 - This year’s American Toy Fair, being held Feb. 10-14 in New York City, is certainly the most exciting one yet for Sideshow Toy and Sideshow / Weta Collectibles. The Sideshow Toy development team have been working hard to develop figures for several new licenses such as James Bond, Platoon, Hogan’s Heroes, Outer Limits and Twilight Zone! The team has also developed the highly anticipated single figure editions to the Monty Python’s Holy Grail line with the debut of the Black Knight figure and the Dead Collector.

In 2001, Sideshow took its successful experience with Classic Film properties further into the past with three historical product lines in the 12" category: Brotherhood of Arms, Six Gun Legends, and Bayonets and Barbwire. This year, Sideshow will continue to push into untouched territory by expanding on these three lines as well as introduce two new lines: LIVE BY THE SWORD and FIFE AND DRUM.

The Sideshow / Weta Collectibles brand continues with several new editions to our The Lord of the Rings line including exquisite plaques, new figures and environments. The Sideshow / Weta team have expanded their partnership with the acquisition of the Muppets license. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Muppet Show, Sideshow / Weta collectibles will be releasing a line of polystone busts featuring classic Muppet characters.

The Sideshow site will be updated with photos of prototypes in development, descriptions of our new lines and editions debuting at Toy Fair, as well as photos of our show booth. We will also be sending brief newsletters to our e-mail list with the latest info from Toy Fair. You can sign up for our newsletter through our home page!

Press photos and releases will be available through our press room. If you are not a member of our press room please contact pr@sideshowtoy.com or call (818) 879-1996 ext. 104.

Oliver Stone’s Platoon encapsulates all of the uncertainty and fear of the war in Vietnam. In spring 2002, Sideshow Toy will release three 12" figures from this epic tale: Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen), gung-ho fanatic Sergeant Barnes (Tom Berenger) and the humane, yet combat seasoned, Sergeant Elias (Willem Dafoe). Holy Grail

Holy Grail
Last year Sideshow Toy released its first series of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Due to the silly nature of Sideshow Toy in falling woefully short of satisfying Monty Python fans, the marketing firm of "WOGGS, PALMER AND LLAMA" has strongly urged the aforementioned company to release a new edition of "Holy Grail" figures. Sideshow is debuting it’s September 2002 Series 2 release of the Five Knights, ,Tim the Enchanter (John Cleese), The Dead Collector (Eric Idle), and The Black Knight (John Cleese) in New York City at Toy Fair.
