How and when did you start collecting?

During my holidays in Miami, FL in the late 90’s when I saw a Bowen statue at a local comic shop.  First and foremost, I must clarify that there were absolutely no statues or busts in my country at that time. It was like I entered new territory and I immediately got hooked. Luckily the internet came along, giving me the opportunity to start this hobby.

What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars Collectibles, Batman, etc.?

Over the years I changed my themes a few times.  It’s like you look back and remember cars you drove years ago and then asking yourself, how the heck could I ever drive such a model ?    But there have always been three constant themes to which I have remained faithful over the years:   Terminator, Frazetta, AvP ! (in that particular order).  In the past years a lot of new companies have pushed to the market bringing new licensed statues, which is great of course, but only Sideshow’s Court of the Dead line was able to arouse my interest in a new line.

What makes your collection unique?

Everybody’s collection is unique and special. Over the years I’ve met a few guys in my country and saw their sick collections. I always returned home, frustrated but also inspired. Don’t get me wrong, there is no competitive thinking like who has the biggest.  So maybe my special thing is, that I divided my stuff into 3 rooms and I’m trying to display it  in such a way that there is a color balance in each room.

What are your favorite or the most prized pieces in your collection?

easy answer: Sideshow’s life-size endoskeleton version 1

What items are on your wish-list?

When it comes to past collectibles I missed, then it’s clearly the life-size Wolf Predator bust from Sideshow. When it comes to a fictitious collectible cool to own, then it’s definitely a life-size bust from Azog – the defiler from the Hobbit trilogy.
